Motorola Droid X :: Getting 4 Texts After Rooting And Running FLYx Mod / Stop It?
Oct 3, 2010I rooted my stock 2.2 DX. After installing Rom manager and downloading and flashing FlyX, every time I get a text, it comes through 4 times. 2 through the stock message program, and 2 through the messaging program that got installed during the flash. Can any one help?

Jan 7, 2010I got google voice and on the settings it has the option to turn off sms forwarding to mobile phone. I have it unchecked but whenever someone texts my GV number, handcent app gets a text. is there some other setting I am missing. It is on a moto droid btw

Jan 24, 2010I've had my Eris for about 3 weeks now and I love it generally. But I have this one issue that is now driving me nuts. When I plug it into my Macbook running OSX 10.5.8 and mount the drive, it only appears on the desktop and in Iphoto. It does not appear in ANY Finder window or list. This has not been a problem yet because I've been at work where I have an external monitor in addition to the Macbook's monitor and I can see the Eris on the desktop. But this morning I am at home and have just the macbook. The only place I can see my Eris on the Macbook is in Iphoto which is not helpful to me because I want to move a Voice Recorder file onto the Hard Drive and add some music to the Eris. But I cannot because I can't get at it unless I am in Iphoto.
Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone have any suggestions?The drive is mounted. And I have tried plugging in, mounting and then unmounting, plugging back in and then mounting again. Nothing.

Jul 5, 2010So today I was driving in my car with my phone on the space between the gear shifter and the console( Lexus ES300- forget the name of the place). Anyway, I had it there and when I touched it, it was hot to the touch. I checked the Temp and it clocked up to 47.8 degrees Celsius (wish the standard HTC battery widget came with an option to change to Fahrenheit). I was alarmed as it has never gone that high before and I was not doing anything with it while driving (as that would be stupid). An hour later I was driving again and plugged it into the car charger to charge it and it shot back up to mid 40's range. Could it be the sun reflecting off of the plastic?

It was annoying that I couldn't get my Yahoo account set up, then I found instructions on the internet for the manual setup (Thank You to Smilepack, whoever you are!). NOW, my next problem is this: can I delete on email on the Droid without deleting it on my actual Yahoo or Gmail account? My BlackBerry had a "Delete on Handheld only" option. That would really be nice to have.

Feb 12, 2010My dad and I did the Buy One Get One Free deal with the Moto Droid and the Eris. He's liking more than the Treo I convinced him was outdated but he's having trouble with it calling people while in his pocket. According to him, after he pressing the red button to hang up a call and puts the phone in his pocket, awhile later someone will be on the line, or when he means to ignore a call it'll pick up. He's pretty good with technology.I think I may have posted in the wrong forum? Not sure if this one is Droid specific. I got redirect to this one from another post dealing with a similar issue on an Eris that never got answered.

Feb 8, 2010I dl'd Doubletwist to my computer to sync music from itunes to my Eris. The first step of syncing music from itunes to DT was easy as pie. I literally dl'd DT in less than a minute and a minute later all my itunes songs (not too many actually) were in DT. DT looks almost exactly like itunes, except you buy your songs via Amazon. Anyway, step 2 of getting the music on to the Eris is NOT working. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'm using Vista, 64 bit, if that makes a difference.

Apr 7, 2010I just did a search for this and came up with nothing. My clock is displaying Pacific time, normally this wouldn't be an issue but I'm on the east coast. Does any one else have this issue? Is there a setting I'm missing? When I click on the clock it brings me to World Clock. The Current time is three hours behind, the Home time and New York time are both correct.

Oct 14, 2010I was texting my brother tonight and he said I kept sending the same text over and over.Up to 6 times.The problem is when he let me know this,I had already deleted our entire conversation.Anybody else have this problem?I haven't had a lot of problems with my phone until the past two months.

Jan 9, 2010My Eris has always had issues with knowing who is who in my recent calls, texts and in google voice from time to time. I reformatted all the contacts to +1-555-555-5555 format(something that someone on a google forum suggested) but it still doesn't fix the problem. For instance- A friend named Steve called me. I see incoming call from and it knows who steve is and says "Incoming call from Steve". I called him back, clicking on the exact icon in my missed calls that says his name and it says I called 5551231234 (unknown). This happens in my messages as well, and it is starting to drive me crazy. I will get a message from 5551231234 and it will only list the number and not the name, so I have no idea who is texting me. For some reason my phone is incapable of putting it together to figure out that the number it lists as unknown is already a contact in my contacts. I have to always call people back to figure out who it is or send a text asking who they are.

Aug 9, 2010I called tech support for the third time because of an issue with my Eris not receiving texts. I spent an hour of useless troubleshooting with him having to turn my phone off and on a bunch and doing a factory reset. After that didn't fix it (surprise surprise, all that inconvenience for nothing) he tells me I'll have to have it replaced with a refurb. I told him that I don't consider a refurbished phone to be an equal replacement and I'm happy to pay a fee of some kind to get a new Eris, just like I would if I went through the insurance (cause those are new, right? if they're refurbs I'll be pissed...). He LAUGHED at me, and said "Every time a phone comes to the end of its term people call in with excuses to get the new model. This is why we don't make exceptions, or else more people like you would be calling in."

Jan 17, 2010I've looked pretty hard to find an answer to this but only found things about sending multiple page texts, not receiving. As a Verizon customer I loved being able to send and receive 7 page texts to and from other Verizon customers. I recently upgraded to an Eris from that horribly lousy Alias and noticed that when the same Verizon people send me multiple page texts, the Eris splits the texts up. I'm fine with it doing this, but the thing that really bothers me is every time I get a multiple page text from a Verizon user it also sends me (and the person sending the text) a notification saying the text had special formatting removed or something to that extent. Some people I talk to tend to send texts that are 2 or more pages every time and the constant notification can get really irritating. Is there an app or a workaround to prevent this?
