When the INC is sleeping I can feel the vibrate or hear the notification sound, however, it won't wake up or let me know that I have something waiting for me just by glancing at it from a distance if it's sleeping. This isn't an issue if I am in a quiet environment, but otherwise it is. I have checked all the settings and there doesn't seem to be a way to make this happen.

How do I turn off repeat email/text notifications? I only want it to tell me once when something new comes in. Mine alerts every 5 minutes until I clear it. This drives me up the wall when I'm sleeping, driving, playing on the phone, etc...

All of a sudden, when I do the same thing, it opens up the G mail In box and I have to click the email itself to open it. Am I delusional and this is how it's always been?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI have the HTC Incredible. Sometimes when I want to hang up a call I can't get my screen to wake. Does it really sleep in the middle of a call? I feel like I should just be able to touch it and it should give me the hang up option.
Sometimes it responds nicely by lighting back up when I tilt the phone away from my ear and then I can press the hang up button, but other times I have the problem that I just described.
When I go into both individual settings for text and email it allows me to change the sound notification but it wont save it. I can change it and then back out of it and if I go right back into it, it keeps defaulting back. It wont save the sound I am changing it to?

Right now, the only way I can figure out to avoid it is to delete my email account from my phone. Most of my email is garbage so I don't need to hear a sound everytime a spam mail comes through. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy SII. I updated to the stock ICS last week, and ever since the update, my text notifications and email notifications will periodically mute themselves. Screen still lights up, notification is still in the notification bar, but no sound.
I've changed the settings to ensure I have them correct several times. I did a master reset as well. Doing a hard reset will fix the issue temporarily, but it always goes back to not working.
I was wondering, is there a way to have the screen come on and/or have the phone unlock when you get a text message or email notification?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had this happen to me twice now over the past week. It seems that periodically my notification sounds will stop. I will see that I have new emails but never heard the sound. I will then go send myself a test text message and it will vibrate but make no sound. I've made sure all my volumes are up, and even went in to pick a notification sound and it will work fine in the sound chooser when I pick it.
I also noticed both times that it did this if I go in to Spare Parts or Battery History and look my phone is staying awake and Android Usage is the one with the partial wake lock. Generally I don't have any sleep issues, it only happens when my notification sounds have also quit working. The only way to fix it is power off and back on and then all is good again.
Can u receive emails notifications that pertain to a text message u just recently received? Whether its sms, or mms? Some people would wonder why I would want an email for all my text message. Received but I have my reasons for asking. Has anyone attempted to do this? If so, How?

I have tried different profile applications but it looks like they just generically turn off "notifications" which looks like both email and SMS notifications. I know I can go in and manually silence the email and the other notifications each time but I wanted to find an easier way. How do I delete applications I downloaded I don't want anymore
1) I can press a button to 'wake' up the phone to the lock screen, but I may have to press a button 2 or 3 times to wake the phone up. it seems like it's not waking up correctly and on the first button press.
2) Twitter and other notifications 'sometimes' dont happen until I unlock the screen...this COULD be coincidence, but I thought I would throw it out for people.
3) I didnt get a voicemail given on Friday until today, which appeared as a result of me switching off my phone and switching it back on. has anyone else heard of this???
4) I cant figure out a way to stop apps from starting on bootup, such as peep? I use twidroid, so dont need two apps running of the same ilk?? Any help here?

Missed call, On the storm I was able to purchase a 3rd party app that let me choose a different color for each item and adjust how frequent the light would blink and things like that.
Starting today I haven't been getting my usual HTC email notifications and when I open the HTC mail client the messages are there, but I get an error message that says, "Alert, There is not enough free space. Please delete some messages and try again." I'm also not able to send photos via the photo app by email. The message sends but not the attachment, only a 1 kb attachment which isn't the photo at all. My phone storage is virtually empty and I always keep my inboxes clear. I've had this phone since launch with no real problems until now. I did update adw.launcher, launcher pro, smooth calendar and alarm clock yesterday if that helps. I called Verizon and they told me to do a factory reset. This shouldn't be happening two months later on a perfectly running phone, should it? I trust everyone on this forum over the Verizon tech support every day of the week.

And after 5-10 minutes, the screen goes to black.Sometimes, I want to turn off speaker phone or use phone to look up some numbers.However, pressing call button or track ball won't wake up the screen. If I press end call button, it just hung up.It seems that there is no way to wake up the screen except hanging up and call again.Anyone has same problem?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAny way to change how the phone behaves in regards to the screen waking up after ending a Bluetooth phone call? Windows Mobile handled this correctly. Android does the opposite.
For example, I am on a phone call using BT headset, I press the power button and put the phone to sleep, put the phone in my pocket, end the call and the screen wakes up with the dialer open. Guess what happens next.....pocket dialing!
WM would end the call and the screen wouldn't turn on, and even after waking it up it was locked.
BT headsets, voice dialing, but I can't just leave the phone in my pocket?
End call should equal no wake or unlock(no action)
