View 9 Replies View RelatedI've read about a possible grounding issue with the some screens, but I haven't read about the issue I'm having. Randomly the touchscreen will stop working... It doesn't matter what I have open it will just stop working. The system is still running, calendar alerts will pop up, and the time will still advance, but I can't do anything with the phone and have to pull the battery and force a reboot to get the screen to respond. I initially thought maybe it was an app, but this has happened with nothing running except the default apps.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy wifes Incredible started shifting the home screen to the right without any touching. When its centered the screen begins swiping to the right as if a finger was there. In "all programs" it starts highlighting apps as if I was touching them but I am not. I have tried G-sensor calibration, keyboard calibration, restarts and the closing of apps but cant find where the trouble lies. Is it possible the touchscreen is now defective?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI wanted to make a special ListView for android that has the springy bounce effect like what they have in the iphone,
Before I divide into coding it, can someone from google tell me whether that's possible if I just modify the ListView class or do I need to modify some other classes also?
I was interested in making a springy-bouncing effect for ListViews similar to one in iphone.I wanted to make sure about a few things before implementing it.
1). Does Android provide this feature somewhere in the new Donut version thats coming out?(so that i don't have to re-invent the wheel)
2). Do Google plan to add this feature in any future versions of the SDK?
What is the name of the view that is used to display options in the latest android contacts app? It's the one that after clicking on a contact picture slides in displays a few options in a horizontal line.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyone know where I can download this Boing ringtone and what app it is included in? It's on the i phone market and I'm trying to see if anyone else has it or knows where it's at. It makes a sound like you would hear in an old cartoon.. boing, boing, boing.. like a ball bouncing or something.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAnyone else experiencing what seems to be a very poor responding touchscreen? Things like trying to flick between screens ending up with the home screen 'bouncing' but not changing. Or having difficulty moving icons and widgets to where it takes multiple tries to be able to move something on the screen or delete a preinstalled widget. Or flicking up or down in Contacts moving the screen just a few names (I got a rapid 'fly by' just once and have not been able to recreate it, the contact list on my old Voyager works much better). Or an unlock bar that seems to fight you if you move too fast. Or that seems to get worse in many of these after you do anything, e.g. if you add an app or move a shortcut icon then the screen response gets worse until you let the phone 'rest'. And all this occurs even with data disabled, Wi-Fi and GPS off, etc.
Maybe it is just us being bad at using the screens, but we also seem to be getting poor battery life. Are there some running services that might be causing all this? Would a Factory Rest potentially help? Any other ideas? Or is it time to see about a replacement? Factory Reset did not help with touchscreen issues, but may have helped with battery life.
My signal at work is about -100 dBm on average, funny thing is the bars go from 0 to 4, they just randomly bounce around every 10 seconds or so.
anyone have a solution to the bars moving? I thought the X was supposed to have better signal than the Dinc i just took back, but it looks like it doesnt, it just tries to say it does with the higher bars.
The incredible was getting between 97-103 dBm just like the Droid X.
My contacts are all setup as area code+xxxxxxx. I'm using the stock messaging app on my Moment. I get a text from someone in my contacts and reply to it. The text bounces back as not being in the ten digit format.
Is this because of the way the sender has their number configured or have I failed to setup texting correctly?
I called Sprint and they suggested a hard reset but I think the rep was clueless.
This morning my alarm started unexpectedly at 6am. The lock screen turned into the snooze/stop screen. Dragging down didn't stop it it.. It came on every ten minutes for the next hour. My alarms were set to 9:45am and 8:30pm as usual. Even turning the phone off and on didn't stop the beeping. It was my 9:45am ringtone even. (The two are set differently)
Anyone else see anything like this? I'm on OTA 2.1
This used to be (what I thought was) a hardware problem with the G1 at some point, but I thought it was resolved for the Droid.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an android application that I want to always be running in landscape mode.
I have the following code implemented to keep the app in landscape mode all the time:
inside my activity in the Application Manifest
android:screenOrientation="landscape"
This seems to launch and keep the application in landscape view for the whole duration of the application. Perfect!
However, if I have the app running on my HTC Aria (Android 2.1) and the phone locks, if I unlock the phone, I see the application for probably half a second and it's in portrait orientation and then quickly switches back to landscape mode. It is quite frustrating because all of my views are jumbled around and it looks unprofessional as you can imagine. This happens in both the emulator and on my real phone.
Does anyone know how to stop the application from temporarily rotating when the phone is unlocked?
I have tried overriding onConfigurationChanged() but with no success.
I have also tried putting setRequestedOrientation(ActivityInfo.SCREEN_ORIENTATION_LANDSCAPE); into the onResume() but the app still shows as the incorrect orientation for a split second when the phone is unlocked.
I know how to display an image that is bigger than the screen. That's fairly simple and explained in details here, however, this method makes you able to scroll as far as you want, event if you have left the image and you just have black screen. I would like to know how we can make the scrolling stop when we reach the side of the picture...

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to do this in certain situations? Eg, if I'm playing music in the car I'd like it to stay "alive". Also, this morning I put google maps on to track my route but my screen kept locking. I know keeping it on will kill the battery but I'll be charging it at work via my laptop most days anyway.

Is anyone else having this issue and also does anyone else know how to sort this?
New EVO user here as of last Friday. I've done a ton of searching, watching and reading and I have a couple questions to the experts out there.
Please let me know if there is a way to stop the screen from timing out (going dark) during a phone call. I find it annoying to have to hit the power button to get the screen back..
I'm using earbuds so the phone isn't near my face and it recognizes the phones as I can see the headset icon. I keep the phone on my desk and the screen times out almost immediately after I make a call and accept an incoming call. It's extremely annoying since I make a ton of work calls and I need to either navigate through an auto attendant and / or leave a message. All of which I have to hit the power button every single time I want the screen to turn back on. I have noticed that the volume buttons turn the screen back on as well.
The screen timeout is set at 2 minutes under the "Sound & Display" category but that doesn't effect the screen time out during a call. Anyone out there have a solution?
I keep getting the HTC screen you see on power up. Totally random, each time i was doing different things. 3-4 times since last night. Anyone else experience this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedApologies if this has been covered in some other thread - but I couldn't find one.Just got my HTC Droid Incredible. I have my Apple Address Book set to sync with Google. I have my Droid also syncing with Google.
Issue 1) Pictures I set on my Apple contacts did not sync to Google and therefore not to my Droid either.
Issue 2) I manually loaded pictures onto my Droid then edited the contacts to use those pictures. After a bit of time (maybe one hour), the contact pictures reverted back to what Facebook has for those contacts. Is there some way to turn that syncing with Facebook off?
Issue 3) even if I wanted to use the Facebook pictures, they appear very fuzzy and cropped badly on the Droid. To the point where they are not recognizable.
I know this has probably been asked before but I've tried searching and can't find the answer.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI have a bit of an issue where the screen fades to black (almost immediately) whilst I'm on a call - either handheld or using bluetooth, and its a wee bit annoying!?!?
Oftentimes I need to access either the keypad (ie. for deleting answerphone messages etc) or calendar etc whilst on a call and its basically locks and I have to slide down and do my unlock code to get access?
Is there any way to stop this and force the phone to just show the call screen throughout any call?
