May 18, 2010I think I am just missing something here. I thought there was to supposed to be a Google instant messenger type thing (like tied into your google account). Feel kind of stupid asking but couldnt search and find it. How do I do it?

May 2, 2014Have any of you ever clicked on the "I'm Feeling Lucky Mix" button which creates a mix based on your music taste?
this is a great and excellent feature to have. I've clicked on it multiple times, and now I have multiple instant mixes.but how do you delete an instant mix? I have these instant mix playlists now, and I don't want them anymore.
I thought I had deleted them somehow previously (don't ask, I can't remember), and what's even stranger is that when I click on "Listen Now" 'All Music', I see all my music there, however, I also see Instant Mixes, I don't want them in there anymore.
When I go to http:[url]....and login, and click on "Instant Mixes", THERE ARE NONE ! When I click on "Listen Now", there are none in there also!, this is how it should be on my cellphone/tablet as well.Yet on my tablet, when I view All Music by clicking "Listen Now", I see them in there.clicking on the 3 dot menu doesn't get rid of them because there is no remove option, no delete option either.

Currently I see that the wallpapers I download gets uploaded to google +, but if this happens to movies, that is bad.

Mar 24, 2010Just noticed this morning that google voice has been updated. Obviously i updated and then checked the change long. Apparently version 0.3.2 gives instant sms delivery. Sweeeeet.. So i am finally able to remove my setting to forward sms to email so that i get it immediately !! Now if they would start doing mms i can cancel my verizon txting totally..

May 13, 2013You know that Google+ Instant Upload photos don't count against your storage, but do you want that free storage for any photo at all? Here is a little workaround
Simple, but effective: just hook your phone up to your computer and drag and drop any photos you want into your phone's camera folder and, viola, they are treated like newly taken photos and uploaded to G+. (or use a file manager right on your phone to copy and paste there). Then, just delete those photos from the camera folder afterwards.
Now, keep in mind that they will be reduced to the "free upload" pixel limit of 2048, just like any other instant uploads, but for many of us, our camera phone pictures are not much bigger anyway.
Extra pro-tip: videos are also "free storage" and they don't reduce their quality at all. You can really maximize your free G+ storage with video.

After seeing skyhook in the LbsTest settings I decided to look further into what skyhook is. I read the article below: Samsung to Put Skyhook on Mobile Devices - Midmarket from eWeek
So I thought hey... there are lots of wifi networks around where I live I wonder if it would help if I turn my wifi on.
I get an almost instant lock accurate to 50 meters (good enough for navigation). I have tried it over and over and when I turn off wifi, I get an accuracy of 1700 meters. Turn it back on and get accuracy to 50 meters.
It works indoors and out.
I just noticed that for this to work YOU MUST HAVE "USE WIRELESS NETWORKS" CHECKED under location and security then turn on Wifi (you don't have to connect to any networks). My guess is it narrows down your location based on Cell tower triangulation, then uses wifi to narrow it down.

May 4, 2010I like to SMS these numbers for my contacts so I can send the same text to multiple people. Usually the texts also appear in my Google Voice App, but since today the people haven't been getting my texts. I know this by them telling me and the texts not appearing in my GV app.

Jun 4, 2010I have my phone set up with an All Call Block (outgoing caller ID blocked) with VZW. When I make a GV call using the Android app, it says something about the call can't be completed as dialed. Does the app not work with phones that have an All Call Block? I did call VZW to remove the block, but, since it's a corporate account, I needed a password, which I didn't have. But, I think she removed it prior to asking me for the password and GV appears to be working now. I want to see if anyone can confirm that definitely was the reason and if there are any workarounds for using the GV app and keeping my All Call Block. I can make a blocked GV call by manually dialing *67 then my GV # and using the dial out method, but that defeats the purpose of the GV app since that makes everything so easy. I guess the difference in using the GV app vs using a non-android phone is that the GV app dials a "special" number so, if I have the All Call Block, it can't see who I am I thought I recalled that if I dialed my GV number from my non-android phone with the All Call Block, it still recognized me (which is possible since the block only blocks caller ID, but the true number is still sent in the stream). So, bottom line, can I not use the GV app if I have All Call Block or is there a workaround?

Previously, I had "turned off" the notification sounds from the stock HTC messaging app, but now I cannot remember where I did that. Google maps says 'no network connection'
Play store says 'server error'
Gmail says 'waiting for sync, your emails will appear shorly'
Sounds like my internet is broken? ITS NOT. whatsapp and opera mini, web browser is still working 100% and able to connect
I have tried:
turning sync of and on
clear the cache of various google apps
turning the phone off and on
The last action I did before it worked was to uninstall the 'microsoft outlook app'.

The display remains stationary when I slowly rotate from North around 360deg.
When I move the phone vertically from the horizon upwards, the constellations change,as expected.
GPS is enabled and gives my correct location when Sky Map starts.
Has anyone, any suggestions. I am an astronomer, and bought my Hero because of this application.
