I was a huge advocate for ebuddy, but The app doesn't support Froyo, and I'm using a 2.2 rom. So, I'm hoping one of you can recommend an instant messaging app to try out.
I've tried a few and can't find one I like.
ebuddy: No froyo support
Meebo: Blows. Constant disconnects.
IM+: No longer supported
What I need:
1. AIM, Facebook, GChat, MSN
2. Remain signed in 24/7
3. Froyo support

What is the best instant messaging program that is free on the andriod?I would like something that could interface with gchat and with AIM.

Note: I would primarily use AIM.
I am making an IM application for Android. The application consists of a server and client, both residing on the android. At startup, the applications register with a webserver. If a client wants to send an IM to a server behind a NAT router, how this be done? I heard of stun4j and jstun but found nowhere an example of their usage in android.

Launch Nimbuzz (or Fring, eBuddy or Meebo - it's reproducible on all of them) 3. Use lots of memory - for instance with a browser (open lots of windows will full desktop sites), or by launching multiple memory- intensive applications at once (Maps Navigation or other navigation apps work well)

Is there any way to make the calls answer instantaneously, as opposed to that 2 second lapse in connection?

Previously, I had "turned off" the notification sounds from the stock HTC messaging app, but now I cannot remember where I did that. I have gone to settings, but I cannot find how to turn it off for the life of me. Now I get double notifications, and I only want Handcent notifications.
View 7 Replies View RelatedAs most of you know, the Inc will drop 8-10% of its charge within 10 minutes of being taken of the charger with no use.I stumbled accross a different method for "bump charging" that does not require the phone being turned off.After I take my phone off the charger I let it do its dropping for no reason dance.At about 92% I plug the phone back in, turned on. Once it hits 100% I unplug it.After that second charge the phone will stay at 100% for an hour or so with no usage.I drive to work, about an hour, so I dont use the phone since its too early to talk to anyone.I left with 100% and when I got to work it was still at 100%. This is with my phone connected to HFL through bluetooth.

The swipe up/down feature is terrible since it results in many undesired call answers and ignores while removing the phone from my pocket. I know that it's possible to simply have the 'answer' and 'disconnect' buttons present, but that's even less useful. Has anyone ever implemented a different means of answering calls for this phone? I've been searching for this since I got it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI would gladly pay money (and i'm sure a lot of eris -> incredible users would too) for an app/patch to give me the option to use an alternative key/button (menu/home button, or even vol rocker?) to wake up the phone when it's in sleep mode. It was one of the major reasons why I ended up returning the moto droid for an eris (the eris has a power button on the bottom of the phone). Would root be required for this kind of mod?
