HTC Incredible : Screen Won't Lock / How To Fix?
Sep 15, 2010When I click the lock button and click again to unlock it, it doesn't ever lock and just loads my homescreen. I have it set to pattern lock and the only time it will work is when I so a battery pull and even then it does it for maybe fifteen minutes. It's really annoying anyone have any idea why its doing this?

Apr 27, 2010Ok, so I had an Eris before this, loaded with the 2.1v2 leak. I had some pics that I set aside as lock screens, and used them w/o a problem on the Eris. I put them on the Inc. today, went to "Photos", viewed them, hit menu and selected Share, then went to Set As, but Lock Screen wasn't an option. So does anyone know how to set the lock screen on the Inc?

Jun 5, 2010I am from India and was gifted a new HTC Incredible from Verizon. This is a CDMA phone. The issue is how do i activate it with a carrier in India. I was told that i can activate it with any carrier in India. I tried to activate it with Reliance in India, but not successful.
Since i am new to this phone, can any one help me how do i activate this with another carrier in India. Please help as i am in love with this one.

Jul 14, 2010This just started happening. The Dinc won't auto lock itself nor will it go into screen lock when I press the hold/power button. I set the screen lock time to 15 seconds and after 15 seconds the screen only dims but doesn't lock.
When I press the power button to awake the Dinc it pops up to home screen or which ever screen I slept it at. i tried uninstalling the apps I updated and downloaded but no luck
ETA:
Installed ATK just to see what apps were running. Everything looked normal. I took of the reminder I had in my calendar and the phone is locking itself after screen timeout has expired and power key works. I put my reminder back onto my event and it is still locking.
Conclusion:
Dinc has a mind of its own and was probably amped up on Starbucks since I had some today for the first time since owning the Dinc

Apr 20, 2010Let me start off with saying I love Sense. I would be getting the incredible if it didn't have it.
That said - I hate the lock screen. I don't know why, but that curved bar - swiping down..... i just don't like it.
The standard android lock screen, IMO, is 100x times better( nexus and droid).
Does anyone know if there's a quick way to turn off the sense lock screen, but keep sense active? I know there's ways w/ rooting. But I don't plan on rooting.... after flashing winmo phones forever, I know better. Fixes one thing, but usually something else ends up not working.
So basically - looking for a way to disable sense lock screen w/o rooting.

May 18, 2010I did quite a bit of searching the web for a solution to my problem with the HTC Incredible. Surely I cannot be the only one with the problem? I answer a call, I'm holding it talking, and the screen turns on then turns off, turns on, then turns off, speaker phone on, I have to click it off, mute on, I have to press it off. etc, I know its just the heat from my cheek from talking, but it goes right through the lock button. What is the point of locking the phone if on a call so this stuff wont happen when your touch (my cheek in this case) just goes right through the lock. I have tried in vain to find an app that could fix this perhaps, but most are just for answering the call or dialing a call, or something to that effect. Any info on how to keep the phone locked when I press the lock button would be appreciated. I love the phone but I am using another phone to make calls because I cant use the Incredible to talk. I don't feel I should have to keep turning off the mute or speaker phone or locking the phone to turn the screen off every two or three seconds.

May 9, 2010I hate belt clips/holsters and have always carried my phone in my pocket. Whenever I receive an incoming call on my incredible, the action of pulling it out of my pocket answers the call 99% of the time. I cannot screen any calls as a result and on one occasion, while driving, I had a hard time getting the phone out of my pocket and, unbeknown to me, the caller could hear me grumbling about it, so the call was picked up while still in my pocket even.
I've tried orienting the phone differently in my pocket (upside down, right side up, screen out, screen in), but the result is always the same. I've searched and searched the forum and the internet, but cannot find a way of locking my phone so that a button needs to be pressed for call answers instead of the screen swipe. Am I the only one having this issue? Is there a workaround that I don't know about?
