HTC Incredible :: Good Lock - Unlock Apps For Dinc
May 15, 2010I know this isn't really a new topic, but search came up empty and auto search as I posted this thread was not helpful. Nothing in 2 months, and nothing for Dinc.
So I'm looking to change some of the default behavior for lock/unlock. I've seen a few peoples lock screens on other threads but haven't quite figured out what they are using.
I'm coming from BB Pearl where I had to hit "* phone" to lock and unlock and it was quick and easy. I like the pattern recognition on the Dinc for the extra security but I probably don't need it, especially until my name and alternate phone number show up on the lock screen so someone can return it to me if they find it. Perhaps I'll but my business card inside the new silicone case?
Anyhow, anyone know of a good lock/unlock app that changes behavior or modifies the lock screen in a way they thought was much better than default?
HTC EVO 4G :: No Lock Type Program For Cyanogen 6?
Sep 13, 2010I've looked everywhere on the internet, and I can't find any solution to disabling the lock screen on Cyanogen 6 on my EVO; is it even possible, or, is there any software that will either disable it, or let me use something besides the power button to unlock it?

Apr 23, 2010Was looking for some notification type apps, that display a number over the app icon depending on how many unread items you have. For instance say I have 3 unread gmails, it would display a number 3 over the gmail icon.

Android :: App To Control What Type Of Connection Other Apps Use
Jun 27, 2010BB user here and the only thing holding me back from getting an Android is the fear of going over my 200MB limit on data.
I want to use my Android over 3G for emails and calendar sync. Everything else through WiFi because I am constantly connected to WiFi through my campus/home/work. Only need email on the go.
Is there a program that can control what type of data other apps use?
For instance:
Email: 3G (WiFi Preferred)
Calendar Sync: 3G (WiFi Preferred)
Contact Sync: 3G (WiFi Preferred)
Browser: WiFi Only
YouTube: Wifi Only
Or along these lines.
Does anyone have any app that comes to mind?
Android :: Dismiss Alarm Clock Type Apps?
Jul 30, 2009I saw few of them on the market. Actually I didn't download any of them yet.(I'm not in the country that can access paid app) But I'm just curious so allow me to ask those have access to these alarm clock apps.
1. User can just turn off the phone. How did the developer prevent user from turning-off the device?
2. If the user CAN turn off the device, how did the developer schedule the 'math' activity to start next time the device is turned on?

Jul 7, 2010I have had my evo for about a week now and have had no problems up until now. You know when you want to add a app to the homescreen and hold down until it says add app, add folder, etc. Well wen i press add app it doesn't do anything and sometimes it selects one of the other options. It has been working fine until today, so i am wondering what the problem is.
Ps. I am posting from my evo and just noticed i cannot type the letter d in landscape mode.
General :: No External System Type Apps In MIUI V5
Apr 26, 2013I have MIUI v5 installed on Tipo. Apps like Sidebar, NinjaSMS, JuiceDefender do not work, start. Ninja sms app starts, but sms does not produce popup. Sidebar when opened via configuration menu, works, but as soon as I exit the configuration, it ends as well. Same for juice defender. It simple does not work. Other applications work very well...
I suspect something to do with the permission manager or setting.
HTC Incredible :: Can't Type In Any App
Sep 20, 2010This happened for the 2nd time in 2 days today. I go into messages, or email, or facebook, or anything...touch the textbox to bring up the keyboard, touch my keys and although it highlights the keys as normal, nothing goes into the textbox! Quitting the app and going back in did nothing. Had to shut down the phone and restart it to finally get it working.

May 2, 2010After you speak and it transcribes the message, how do you accept it? It seems to automatically add a space after the message.so if I press space to accept it, I need to go back 2 spaces to add a period.If I press '.' to accept it and add punctuation, it leaves a space between the end of the transcribed message and the punctuation.I know this sounds minor but when sending a lot of texts, it can be really annoying.

May 5, 2010So the cable advertised that comes with this phone is a micro - USB cable. I went and ordered four cables as spares (2 for the cars and an 1 for each of our work). These cables have not yet arrived so I have not tried them yet. This is what I ordered:

However, this morning I forgot my cable that came with the phone at home so I asked around if anyone had one so I could charge my phone. 4 people gave me cables to try that were micro - USB cables. They *look* like the cable that came with the phone but none of them will insert into the phone. So - now I have doubts that what I ordered will work with this phone.
1) Can anyone tell me if they think the above cables will work?
2) Can anyone tell me if there is a more precise description of the phone cables type?
3) Can anyone point me to a source of 6 foot long cables that will work with this phone?

Nov 7, 2013My current situation is that I have a phone with 2 camera apps on it, stock and camera FV-5.
Camera FV-5 is slower than the stock camera, so I only use it in situations which I need manual control.
Whenever I open whatsapp and try to send a photo, the app asks me which camera I want to use, with no option to always use stock. I don't want camera FV-5 to exist as an option, as I will open it if I want to use it.
Is there a way to remove an app from the list so that my phone does not recognise camera FV-5 as a camera?

May 11, 2010I am very impressed with Talk To Type's accuracy. It's great for chat and many informal things but seems to be missing some features that would have been very easy to implement.1. Automatic capitalization - no brainer - it should capitalize obvious proper names, the word "I" and the beginning of every sentence, or at least this should be an option. 2. Automatic punctuation - it should be an option to place a period at the end of each phrase (defined by when you stop speaking) and if the beginning word was "who", "what", "where", "when", "how", etc...it should be an option to automatically enter a question mark. I get that you can speak the name of the punctuation mark, but this option would make it more useful. 3. Numbers less than ten should be spelled out (e.g. "nine" instead of "9") It's so accurate compared to many that I've tried to use in the past, yet it doesn't have these super-basic and very easily implemented features. It makes it less useful for e-mail, especially corporate e-mail, where the mail needs to not resemble a high school text message.

Jul 21, 2010I am no longer able to bring up the 4 choice usb-type menu that pops up when the usb cable is connected between the phone and my pc. Now after about a second delay the battery icon changes to the charging icon and the red LED lights up.
I have Disk Drive set as default with the "Ask Me" box checked (regarding USB connection type). The cable I have been using before and now is the one marked DICMUSB that came with the phone and plugs into the htc usb converter for drawing power from the wall. My pc also does not recognize the phones internal storage or pop up an error message.
I have not had this issue before, as I have been able to move mp3's from disk to phone-sdcard as well as change the boot animation. I thought maybe an app was causing the issue, but after uninstalling everything back to when I last hooked up the phone to my pc the problem still exists.

Jun 8, 2010When ever someone sends me a picture message, the picture comes as a video type. When i click on thepic it only stays open for a couple of secs. On the Moto droid the pic would show on the message and if i clicked on it it would stay open. Is tue a way to change this or what?

Jan 8, 2010I jailbroke my first gen iPod Touch and it has something called "Lockdown" in Cydia and I was wondering if there's something similar to it. Basically, "Lockdown" requires a password for every app you specify. If there isn't an app, are there any restrictions on development that won't allow applications like this to work? If anyone makes this app (or if there's one out right now), I'd be willing to pay $2, maybe even up to $5, to have something like this.

May 13, 2010I just rooted and upgraded to 2.1DD10 last night. I find 2.1's lock screen extremely annoying. I currently have it disabled with No Lock. Is there any apps that have a better lock screen? Or an app that you use? I don't want to use PandaHome or apps like that. Just want a simple app that its only function is a lock screen.
