HTC Incredible :: Lock Screen - Sense/2.1

Let me start off with saying I love Sense. I would be getting the incredible if it didn't have it.
That said - I hate the lock screen. I don't know why, but that curved bar - swiping down..... i just don't like it.
The standard android lock screen, IMO, is 100x times better( nexus and droid).
Does anyone know if there's a quick way to turn off the sense lock screen, but keep sense active? I know there's ways w/ rooting. But I don't plan on rooting.... after flashing winmo phones forever, I know better. Fixes one thing, but usually something else ends up not working.
So basically - looking for a way to disable sense lock screen w/o rooting.

i flashed to the stock vanilla lock screen and want to go back to the original sense one. anyone know how to get that back?

I decided to rename HtcLockscreen.*, which effectively disables the Sense lock screen, and the phone defaults to the Android lock screen, which IMO looks a lot better and provides more function and information.
This morning, I discovered the downside of doing so. I had no way to shut of my morning alarm, which is set with the Sense clock app/widget. Normally, the alarm app communicates with the lock screen to give me an option to snooze/dismiss via the lock screen. But evidently, the alarm doesn't know how to communicate with the android lock screen.
So the only way I could figure out how to silence the phone was to power it down. I ended up downloading an alarm clock app, and I'm now using that instead of the Sense alarm. Everything is good again.
I was just wondering if anyone had a more elegant solution to this problem. I will not consider lockscreen apps like WidgetLocker.

When I click the lock button and click again to unlock it, it doesn't ever lock and just loads my homescreen. I have it set to pattern lock and the only time it will work is when I so a battery pull and even then it does it for maybe fifteen minutes. It's really annoying anyone have any idea why its doing this?

Ok, so I had an Eris before this, loaded with the 2.1v2 leak. I had some pics that I set aside as lock screens, and used them w/o a problem on the Eris. I put them on the Inc. today, went to "Photos", viewed them, hit menu and selected Share, then went to Set As, but Lock Screen wasn't an option. So does anyone know how to set the lock screen on the Inc?

when i get a text, you can read a part of the text on the locked screen. that means someone can read it even though it's locked. is there a way to disable this?

So I use the pattern lock, but if someone's messing with it and tries more than the allowable tries, it'll lock you out for awhile. Is there any way to turn off the limit of allowable amount of unlock attempts?

Is there a way to change the slide to unlock on the Inc? I really like the one on the droid and other Android devices. The one on the Inc is alright but i like the droids better. Is it possible without rooting the device?

Sorry if this has been asked, I did a search and came up empty.Am I missing something or is there no way to password protect the lock screen with Android (without some app)?I can live without it, but considering how much personal info we store on our phones these days, I'd at least like to know if I have the option.

I've searched around and so far I've only found apps that reject (forward to voicemail) calls from a particular list. What I am looking for is a way to reject a call from he lockscreen or incoming call screen.
Is there a setting I am missing or is this something that needs to be done with an apparently?

Just ditched my Eris and jumped to the incredible. I love it! Anyway, I'm trying to place a pic on my lockout screen. Not my wallpaper but my lockout screen. The Eris had an option within settings to do that but I cant find it on my Incredible. Any suggestions?

I need a feature I cannot find on my HTC Incredible. I have the phone locked so if I would lose the phone it would be more difficult to steal some of my information. But....
I need to have emergency contact information on the lock screen. For example, if I were unconscious or just lost the phone, how would some Good Samaritian know who to contact? I cannot find anyplace to enter this type of information. Had this on my previous phones (Palm) and miss it!

1. I run an application called "lockpicker" which allows me to bypass the Exchange Lock screen, which made me put in a password every time I would turn my phone off, or every time I would shut off the screen (which was VERY annoying). I have had no problems with my work email, connecting to it, or with the exchange lock screen since installing lockpicker. In fact, its like the lock screen doesnt even exist, which I love. I hear that lockpicker is NOT compatible with Froyo 2.2, which makes me extremely nervous about upgrading, because if I have to put in a code every time my phone goes to sleep, I will like the phone a lot less.
2. Google Listen - I use this program to listen to 5-6 podcasts that I subscribe to and I find that while it does have some bugs, its simple and the easiest way I have found to organize my podcasts and listen to them. I hear that this doesnt work anymore with 2.2 either (although I could be wrong).........

Is there a screen orientation lock feature? I haven't seen it mentioned. In fact a search only turned up mention of it as a hardware button on the iPad. This would be great for using it while lying down, reclining, in the car.

Is it possible to set the screen to turn off, let's say, after 2 minutes, but have the phone only lock after, let's say, 10 minutes.
During the day I am in and out of my contacts constantly and I am unlocking my phone too much! I just want it to lock after a preset time, not every time the device is turned off.

Is there anyway to get the stock Android lock screen without rooting? Its so much better than this crap Sense lock screen. I guess HTC decided they were going to change everything from Stock Android even if it means downgrading certain aspects.

Is there a way to extend the delay of the pattern/PIN screen lock to several hours? Lock Delay does this for 2.1, but I read that it doesn't work well with Froyo.

I've had my phone for a month and I love it to pieces. Anyway, I've noticed lately it is getting more "glitchy" than it was in the beginning. Little things like, I'll be typing a message in a message box (happened in a facebook message and in an ebay message) and all of a sudden the keyboard will go away, go back to the regular screen, and the message will be deleted. Which is really frustrating after typing a long one.
This I can deal with.
I had, at one point, the pattern set to be used everytime my phone was unlocked (I found out people were playing with it at work when I walked away). So I set it to have a pattern. Now I no longer need it, so I turned it off. Now, everytime my phone gets unlocked, the pattern screen (with the 9 little circles) shows up. All you have to do it touch it, anywhere on the screen, and it goes away. I've checked and triple checked my security settings, no pattern is even set, and the boxes are unchecked for requiring a pattern.

Anyone having issues with lock ups or the screen rapidly switching from normal view to helicopter view? The only things that takes care of it for me is pressing the power button twice.
