I would love to stop using the HTC lock screen and use only the pattern unlock - any ideas how to do that?
Just wondering if there is a way to do this. Kinda annoying to have to unlock 2 times.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there an option or app to disable the slide to unlock but keep the pattern lock (or PIN lock on Froyo)? It seems kind of redundant to have both slide and pattern unlocks. I have Android 2.2 and was hoping this would be "fixed" with the upgrade.

View 2 Replies View RelatedYesterday I swiped my unlock pattern wrong to many times and now I have a screen saying that I should type in my google account username and password to unlock it.
I'v done this 100 times now with the correct username and password but it does not open my Hero. It is like it dosen't tjeck it online....
So now I have a locked Hero that can't do anything, How can I unlock it?
I've had my phone for a month and I love it to pieces. Anyway, I've noticed lately it is getting more "glitchy" than it was in the beginning. Little things like, I'll be typing a message in a message box (happened in a facebook message and in an ebay message) and all of a sudden the keyboard will go away, go back to the regular screen, and the message will be deleted. Which is really frustrating after typing a long one.
This I can deal with.
I had, at one point, the pattern set to be used everytime my phone was unlocked (I found out people were playing with it at work when I walked away). So I set it to have a pattern. Now I no longer need it, so I turned it off. Now, everytime my phone gets unlocked, the pattern screen (with the 9 little circles) shows up. All you have to do it touch it, anywhere on the screen, and it goes away. I've checked and triple checked my security settings, no pattern is even set, and the boxes are unchecked for requiring a pattern.
After some 10 days with my Desire, I am close to getting it 'just right'...
However, I would like to configure the phone to use only the hardware button and the lock pattern in order to use the phone, and bypass the 'slide down' process.
I have tried various permutations and addons but to no avail ...
So to recap:
1 - press upper hardware button
2 - enter lock pattern
How many of you guys actually use the pattern lock or password before you can use the phone. I have been debating whether or not its a waste of my time b/c even if I get my phone stolen I'm not getting it back. My friends that use my phone can't go through my personal stuff b/c I have a file locker. Even if I did have the pattern lock did anybody create a way to hack it and unlock it like they did with the iPhone?

I would like to slide unlock then enter pattern.

1) Is there way to find if the Android "unlock pattern screen" is ON/ OFF thru programming? My Aim is to send some messages from my application to a server thru network only when the user had unlocked this password kind of screen (device).
2) Is there any Android/Java class to generically find (query) if certain application window is currently on top like question 1? In other words, any Windows manager class to get some info/enumerate windows that are currently being displayed/being in use.
it's easy enough to turn on the unlock pattern security feature and it was fun to give it a try but now I'm just wondering - is there any way to turn it off?? I've tried searching and even in the user guide it says nothing about being able to disable it. If anyone knows how to do this/whether it is possible please let me know - only because I'm finding it kind of annoying now!

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo why can't I use that as a clock widget for my home screen! I mean, it's so nice. The font, the spacing, the size, the position. I'd love that to be my normal home screen clock, so are our free options really limited to either the real estate killing, non-customizable HTC clocks, or the hackney attempts at clock widgets from the market. I know Beautiful Widgets is a pretty popular app to download for this, I guess I'm just looking for a free alternative.
View 15 Replies View RelatedSo I went to the verizon store today and found out that I can upgrade to the Droid X ( was debating between droid 2 or X and still am confused). But upon checkout my card wouldn't work, it kept getting errors after manually entering and swiping it, so I'm going to head back this week with cash instead. *But anyways, I tried playing around with it a little and searched the phone for different unlock screens, couldn't find any. My questions is - Does the Droid x (even droid 2) have the lock screen where you get the grid and can make your own pattern to unlock? Like the lock screen for the G1 I used to have.

I couldn't find anything to do with lock screens while messing with it in store, but maybe I was looking in the wrong spot.
I'm tired of those *** dots! Any way possible to get a numerical pattern like the iPhone has?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI read that if you forget your pattern for the unlock screen you're supposed to hit the Forgot Pattern button but I don't have one! I made a really simple pattern so I won't forget it but still, that's a pretty huge feature so I don't need to do a hard reset if anything happens. Does anyone else have this issue?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to remove the slide to unlock and keep the pattern lock? I serached and saw someone asking about this in May but there was not a way. I tried no lock and a few other apps but nothing has worked so far?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe one thing that does not make sense is why do you have to do the unlock and then the draw pattern. Shouldn't the draw patter be enough? I tried the no lock widget but it turns of both the slider and the draw pattern. I just want the draw pattern.
View 7 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to decrease the unlock pattern attempts before you need to insert your gmail account? I would like it to require my email/pass after about 5 wrongs attempts. Currently it took 15 times till it required a password.

View 7 Replies View RelatedFirst of all this is minor Bug, but still - BUG! There is phone configuration description:
Phone: Xperia X10i
FW: android 2.1
patterns - default slider + unlock pattern
Bug description
1) When phone is locked, press home or power button.
2) move slider, to be able to draw pattern.
3) Start to draw pattern and wait till screen goes black (do not remove your finger). So your pattern is not finished and screen has gone black. Try to remember place of the finger.
4) Press home or power button again.
5) Finish unlock pattern from place you was, when screen turned black.
6) Your phone is unlocked!
So, if you did not finished your pattern and your screen have gone black you might think, that the phone locked, but this is not true. Your Phone can be Quite Easily unlocked in the Pocket.
I have had my Droid for almost a month now and i love it,,, but there are a couple of really annoying things that it does, and i was wondering if it was just me, or if anyone else has these problems too...
I will hit the unlock button on the top and start to do my pattern, and all the sudden, it says that i lifted my finger... and takes two tries out....
I will hit the unlock button and start my pattern and the screen will shut off like there is no activity and i will have to hit the unlock button again, and start over.
Oh and how about this, tried both handcent and stock messaging app, i regularly have periods of long delay from both receiving and sending text messages, i will be sending one text and get a text sending overload message also.... then i will have periods of sending and receiving the exact same text 10-15 times in a row.... this happens all of the time and its extremely annoying....
I'd really like to be able to read my most recent text BEFORE I unlock my pattern lock screen. Preferably in the form of a popup. I really don't care if it's over it or on top I just want to be able to read it before I unlock. I've done a good deal of searching, on xda and elsewhere, and I really can't find any information on how I might be able to do this. I tried playing with the popup settings in handcent and I have got the pop up to show up over the lockscreen, but if the screen turns back off then I have to unlock the phone to see the text again. Is there anything I can do about that?
I even tried playing around with Sms Popup with no luck either. Could I perhaps somehow remove the background on my pattern lockscreen so that I can see the popup behind it? I'd also like to add that I'd really rather not use any third party lockscreen apps like WidgetLocker or Lock 2.0 because I really don't like them. I know it's kind of a specific question but it's just kind of an aesthetics thing I guess.
I want to provide my own version of password mechanism. Is this possible?
