when you enable the pattern to unlock you have to do the htc unlock first and slide down which reveals the pattern. Is there a way to just make it the pattern?

The subject is pretty much it. With pattern lock security enabled, what happens during an incoming call? Must you enter the pattern to pick up the call, or can you simply press "Send"?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm seeing so many people complaining about the new lock screen that it seems that many Droid owners aren't using a pattern lock to secure their phone. This really surprises me, the phone contains access to all your email, contacts, calendar, and any other personal data you may have placed on it, and a large percentage of you aren't even using the basic security provided by the pattern lock? Or is it that many people don't know the pattern lock exists? I just can't imagine having a phone like this that isn't secured to whatever extent is available.

I tried the pattern lock thing it has but if a call comes through or a text message comes through it still allows you to answer and/or view the message without entering the lock pattern..
I own a ZTE Crescent- Rooted/CWM recovery running CM7.
I was messing around with using CM9 and I like it but it isn't up for the kind of usage I'd like to use it for so I went back to CM7. One thing I really liked about CM9 was the pattern lock dots- On ICS they are a lot thinner and look slicker, whilst on GB they are thick and bulky and I dislike them.
So my question is; Would it be possible to flash a zip in CWM to change the pattern lock dots on my device? Or any other method?
Is there anyway to put this lock screen on the droid? Screen Lock - and is there anyway/app to make the screen light up with ANY button besides the lock button?

I have my background in the phone set to what I like... and I like that i see it/them when using the normal swipe unlock. they are not always what you would call appropriate. I already have and use the "LockPattern OnOff" app for situations like work where i don't want anyone getting into my phone, but it still shows my backgrounds there as well.... which could be a bit of an issue depending on who picks it up.. Is there any way anyone knows of to have the background different for the pattern lock screen but not change the normal lock screen?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had my phone for a month and I love it to pieces. Anyway, I've noticed lately it is getting more "glitchy" than it was in the beginning. Little things like, I'll be typing a message in a message box (happened in a facebook message and in an ebay message) and all of a sudden the keyboard will go away, go back to the regular screen, and the message will be deleted. Which is really frustrating after typing a long one.
This I can deal with.
I had, at one point, the pattern set to be used everytime my phone was unlocked (I found out people were playing with it at work when I walked away). So I set it to have a pattern. Now I no longer need it, so I turned it off. Now, everytime my phone gets unlocked, the pattern screen (with the 9 little circles) shows up. All you have to do it touch it, anywhere on the screen, and it goes away. I've checked and triple checked my security settings, no pattern is even set, and the boxes are unchecked for requiring a pattern.
What happens if I enabled the pattern lock by updating the setting LOCK_PATTERN_ENABLED, but have never set a pattern? I would check, but I don't want to reset my phone (I don't see a way to clear the lock pattern). Does anyone know?

I found online several method to delete the code/pattern security.
Some methods use USB debugging (I have a Tasker script that disables it at every boot).
I also found a clever and powerful tool that really scares me. There is a zip that deletes the Gesture.key and Password.key file.Are there other methods from which I should protect my phone and my data?

I did the manual OTA update to 2.1 and once I re-setup my exchange account it enforced the security policy (no surprise there thank god for LockPicker!). The Pattern Unlock stayed as well. So I would have to pattern unlock THEN input the 4 digit alphanumeric (major PITA) So after installing lockpicker I only had to pattern unlock - no problem.
Well I've had the dreaded "no-audio" bug a couple times since upgrading so I decided to try a hard reset before pursuing a warranty replacement. This time I did the same thing, setup my Exchange account and installed LockPicker. Now I do NOT have the pattern unlock. Under Security -> Screen Unlock Pattern I only have "Change Unlock Password" and there doesn't appear to be any way to enable the Pattern unlock.
Here is where it gets interesting. My friend has an Eris as well, is on the same exchange server and got 2.1. He is in the same boat that I was PRE 2.1 upgrade where he has the pattern unlock AND the password (I hipped him to LockPicker) and is now where I was with only the Pattern Unlock. Under his Security -> Screen unlock it is the same as mine, with only "Change Unlock Password".
Now not have the pattern unlock is not the end of the world, I just liked having that small bit of security...just curious if anyone can find a way, short of another hard reset, to get Pattern Unlock back. I'm guessing that the issue is that I didn't enable pattern unlock before setting up Exchange and allowing it to enforce that security policy.
We recently purchased the Moment for my daughter, she has had the phone for 2 days. It seems she does not remember the lock pattern and we have not signed up yet for a gmail account. We have tried holding the left and center button then holding the right after a battery pull but when the progress bar comes up(grey) it goes a little over halfway then stops, it never finishes. I have done a search and came up with nothing else. She has 2.1 if that helps.

I can not remember the google email address for the phone and now i can not access the phone. Orange customer service has told me to get in touch with google, in order to delete the old account [whatever that may be] but there is no number for google customer service.
