My gf's computer is going south, but all she really does is go online. If I were to find a way to connect her Evo to a monitor (this should be easy with and HDMI cable, right?), a mouse (bluetooth?), and a keyboard (can you do two bluetooth devices at the same time?), she'd be able to essentially have a computer when she docks her phone to all this, right?
But, does Andoid have an app and Evo the capability to bluetooth to a mouse and keyboard and is the HDMI cable the way to go to get the display on a spare monitor, or could I use the USB? Just thinking out loud here. Cell phone processors are fast enough to handle internet browsing and emailing, which is pretty much all she does, and the speed of the connection (we're in a 4G area) would make downloads fast. How could it be done?
My phone keep connecting to the "HDMI CABLE" i do not have it connected, i wasn't trying to connect it...idk how this happened. When it connects it turns my screen sideways.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFew Asus Transformer Questions. I have been looking for something I can browse the internet with, watch video, and take notes in class all while having the capabilities of a tablet. My girlfriend works nights at a sleep lab and has an extremely terrible wifi connection at her work. The only way for her to connect to the internet is via cable. I'm thinking that the Transformer (with dock) is our best option but I was wondering if a simple cable to USB adapter will work on a Transformer for connecting to the internet?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I insert the USB cable, I can go to notifications and mount the SD card so I can transfer files to and from my PC. This all works fine. Lets say I am all done with the connection to my PC so I want to disconnect the USB cable. I go to notifications and select "turn off USB storage". I get the message that I need to "unmount the host". So I go to settings and unmount the SD card, go back to notifications and turn off usb storage. Done, all this works fine too. Later in the day, I want to browse some videos and picture that are located on my SD card. I get the message "SD card unmounted". No problem, I will just go to setting and mount it? However, not mount option exists in settings. The only way I can mount the SD card after it has been unmounted, is to insert a USB cable, go to notifications and select mount, or to power off my phone and then power it back on.

I'm used to using USB to transfer files from PC to phone so was a bit surprised when my Hero didn't come with one.
Obviously most things can be done wirelessly now, but I have lots of music files I want to transfer and my PC does not have bluetooth.
Am I missing a really obvious solution here? I use iTunes, so is there a way to just synch up the account with the Hero?
I would like to be able to read microSD's without having to remove the back cover. Is there a way to connect an external card reader via USB?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've got a little problem with my HTC Hero. I got it yesterday and plugged it in to PC at home and charging was fine. At work today when I took my phone out of a pocket I noticed that red light is flashing. I've connected it to my Mac at work and it doesn't seem to charge it what so ever. It has been connected to Mac's USB for about 30 minutes and red light is still flashing. Tried to turn it on but ON/OFF button doesn't work. How long it needs to be plugged in to start again? Is it a Mac issue?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a new HERO that works perfectly and I love it. But I have an older laptop that doesn't have USB 2 on it and I can't seem to sync my calendar. In fact and I can't get to first base with it. The install fails on the laptop because I don't have usb 2.0 I'm guessing. Is there any other way to sync this with out a cable? This would be nice to get going as my HERO would be 100% then..

I recently lost the charger and cable that came with the phone, and bought another one, but the actual connector is slightly different. When I plug my phone into my computer, I don't get anything, either on the phone or on the computer, except that the phone does start charging. I get no "start USB service" or whatever option in the phone and the phone does not show up as a drive. Nothing, nada, zilch, zero. I'm guessing it's the cable, but I'd like to confirm before going out and buying another cable.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI seem to have a problem when trying to connect the Hero to the Internet via Wi-Fi.
It seems to take an age to connect sometimes up to a minute to make connection. Wheras if connect via 3G etc it connects via automatically.
I am using the Wi-Fi widget to connect & disconnect if that makes any difference.
This is also NOT just happening at home but at other locations where I have connected via Wi-Fi before.
These are all secured connections that I am trying to make.
In contrast my wife has an N1 & this connects to the Wi-Fi at home virtually instantly.

One of the computers is a Dell Inspiron 9400 running Vista and the other is a MacBook Pro running Windows 7 under VMWare Fusion 3.0.2.HTC Sync 2.0.18 should work in Windows 7 and definitely under Vista so I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. On both computers I'm running AVG Antivirus 9.0 Free, on which I disabled resident shield during installations, as recommended.
