Aug 17, 2010today I put my sd card into my sd card reader to throw some photos on to my computer. After I was done i put the sd card back into my droid and booted it up. After booting I get a notification saying my SD card is blank, so I turn off the phone and pull the battery out. When I grabbed my SD card it burnt my hand "literally" it was that hot... Wtf?!?! I put the SD card back in the reader and the computer doesnt even see the card. Idk if anyone has heard of a similar problem b4 and knows a fix...Thanks in advance! Side Note; I work at a cell phone repair store, so I put the sd card in two other blackberry's and they say "your sd card needs to be formated or it is corrupt". I put other sd cards into my phone and i have no problems.

Sep 8, 2013I successfully rooted my Samsung Galaxy Blaze phone, installed Titanium BackUp and now would like to send my app data to my nice 16GB SDHC card. The problem is, I can't get it partitioned probably because my laptop's card reader can't really read SDHC cards, even in adapters. It recognizes that the card is there, but then wants to format it and won't format it. I tried using the Mini Tools Partition Wizard, but each attempt failed, claiming I had a bad card. The card works beautifully in the phone, so I don't think that's the problem, especially since brand new cards get the same reaction.
Is there a way to partition the card from my phone? I have good reason to believe that my memory problems have a lot to do with the boatload of email I have saved in GMail, or the fact that Google+ somehow decided I really needed *all* of my photos on my phone, via Picasa (another source of angst and muttering).

Dec 2, 2013I have several apps for DSLR tethering on my nexus 7 (2013). Previously, I was given a choise of which app I wanted to run when connecting my camera, but now one app automatically loads. Iam not given a choise anymore. how can I change this back?

Jun 15, 2010I am looking for a business card scanner app.I know there are a ton on the market but i can not find one that gives me the option to add the cards to a database.I would like to be able to have the cards added to the database and then be able to open the database and search by company or name ect.If there was an option to add to contacts that would be ok as well.Point is i have probably 1000 business cards and do not want them in my contacts even if i make a trash group it is just not worth the effort.

May 7, 2013I am having a problem getting my galaxy tab 10.1 to recognize a usb flash drive I have connected via an adapter. I know it works because it detected a wireless mouse I connected to it, and it shows up when I use dmesg or lsusb in the terminal. The thing is that none of the file explorers I've used (Es, Astro) are able to detect the files I have on it. The usb drive is formatted to fat32; would it be more likely to detect it if I formatted it to ext3 or ext4?

Investigation:
1)i tried creating directory in using File manager...it did, ...it didnt show option of deleting / pasteing something.
so i used es file explorer........when I asked it to delete that empty directory i created , it said error permission denied.
2)i try to paste something, it fails.
3)i try to delete something it fail.
So, FORMATTED the memory card (via pc...connected it as usb, formatted, ejected), TRY TO PASTE SOMETHING via tablet, it fails

Mar 9, 2014Recently I started using 32GB card with my Micromax Canvas HD and everything is working only for when I try to connect my mobile to PC for file transfer via usb storage I can see only two drive one of CD drive of mmx and other internal sd drive and I can see one more drive but it is not mounted which is my external sd drive when clicked on it, it asked to enter disk.
Solution tried so far by me
1. I have erase external sd card in mobile itself.
2. Reset the entire phone.
3. Uninstalled the mmx driver on my PC and reinstalled it.

If a phone needs to be replaced, what good is it to have the backup internally? Dec 25, 2009I am now on my second B2 because i thought the first phone was defective. Well I'm having the same problem with my new B2...The phone is disconnecting and connecting on its own consistantly. And it keeps sending me notifications. I've tried 3 different SD cards all with the same result. Eventually it will erase all card data and tell me the card is damaged. Anyone else with this problem? Should I go with the G1 or Mytouch?

Nov 11, 2010I know an SD card gives you extra memory for media files, but since the phone comes with 16GB is it really necessary? The basic iPhone 4 comes with 16GB and I don't think most users are clamoring for more.
Does it help the SGS speed if you leave most of the internal memory free (only using it for apps) and use the external card for all your files?
Or does it just provide an opportunity to go crazy with storing files, like an entire season of a TV show for instance?
All that being said... yes I did spring for an 8GB SD card but is it money well spent... who knows.
General :: Apps Don't Use New External SD Card For Data
May 1, 2012When I setup my A100 (running the ICS OTA update), I didn't have an SD card installed. It created it's own "fake" sdcard which applications use.
Now that I've added a real external sdcard, I can't get the applications to use that for their data instead of the "fake" location.
I've copied everything from the "fake" location to the new sdcard.
I suspect the problem is that the new, real sd card is called "external_sd" and the old, "fake" location is called "sdcard".
Do I need to reinstall those applications?
I am NOT trying to move applications to the external SD card; I just wants apps that normally store data there to do so instead of in the "fake" location.
Also, I am not rooted.

As you cannot really control for every app where to store its data, you have some of your app-data on internal sd (encrypted) and some of you app-data on external sd (encrypted). To me this seems to be a security hole, concerning device encryption. why cm team does not include encryption for external sd cards, like some oems do? They put so much effort in security features and on the other side they leave parts of the local storage encrypted?

Read some forums and formated it to exfat, then ntsf, both read fine and can store up to 4gb but no more, tried all the various apps to get it to store when downloading but always get size limit error. How can I get my OS to allow bigger than 4gb to download to my 32gb sd card. Note: I have no issues when trying to move files from PC to phone, just downloading them from the Internet either by download site or torrent. Got some movies and software I need to get. OS is ics 4.0.4 rooted stock. I am a good pc geek but limited on android/linux skills.
