View 1 Replies View RelatedMy gf's computer is going south, but all she really does is go online. If I were to find a way to connect her Evo to a monitor (this should be easy with and HDMI cable, right?), a mouse (bluetooth?), and a keyboard (can you do two bluetooth devices at the same time?), she'd be able to essentially have a computer when she docks her phone to all this, right?
But, does Andoid have an app and Evo the capability to bluetooth to a mouse and keyboard and is the HDMI cable the way to go to get the display on a spare monitor, or could I use the USB? Just thinking out loud here. Cell phone processors are fast enough to handle internet browsing and emailing, which is pretty much all she does, and the speed of the connection (we're in a 4G area) would make downloads fast. How could it be done?
My phone keep connecting to the "HDMI CABLE" i do not have it connected, i wasn't trying to connect it...idk how this happened. When it connects it turns my screen sideways.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFew Asus Transformer Questions. I have been looking for something I can browse the internet with, watch video, and take notes in class all while having the capabilities of a tablet. My girlfriend works nights at a sleep lab and has an extremely terrible wifi connection at her work. The only way for her to connect to the internet is via cable. I'm thinking that the Transformer (with dock) is our best option but I was wondering if a simple cable to USB adapter will work on a Transformer for connecting to the internet?

I've got it working fairly well, although it doesn't seem to work for Excel files at all, and I do sometimes get a debug error. How to Print Files from any Mobile Phone using Dropbox?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI know that android sdk 2.0 has provided the new bluetooth API for developers. But I'm not sure if this can help me connect to bluetooth printers. Are there any protocol restrictions or device limitaion for this? Is it possible that the bluetooth device is undetectable by android phone?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to know about the 'service discovery' mechanisms supported by android - particularly, Printer Discovery. Does android provide such a discovery option? example: support for snmp broadcast? I tried out an application "PrinterShare" link:

I would like to have the ability to print documents (docs to go), texts, etc., directly from my phone. I am guessing that if such an app exists I would have to have a WiFi capable printer? Is there an app to do this? If so what do I need to have once installing this app?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a way to print Office Documents from my phone. I have a WiFi printer. Currently using OfficeSuite Pro. But it has no printing provision that I can discover. So far my workarounds are.
1. Transferring the file from SD card to PC. Opening the file and printing from there.
2. Attach the file and email to myself. Open the attachment and print from there.
I would like to be able to send the file directly from the phone to the WiFi printer. I saw some print apps in the market, but none seemed to do Office Documents.
In the last 3 weeks, I've found that Chrome To Mobile has stopped working for my Chrome browsers on mulitple desktops, to multiple devices. "Print" requests on the Cloud Printer Beta page show my requests, stuck in a perpetual state of "Queued" ... until I delete them.
Deleting and adding the devices hasn't worked. Neither has stopping and restarting Chrome sync.
Another Android question. I did some searching and couldn't find any answers on this.
We are using Android as an embedded type of system and want to get it to work with the Brother mPrint MW-120 printer. This is a compact, battery-powered thermal printer. It connects over USB. It seems like a great fit for an Android device, so we can print receipts, barcodes, labels, etc.
However, I can't find any information on doing that, and I couldn't find any Linux drivers for this printer.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to retrieve the Android OS Version (like 1.5 or 1.6 or 2.1) and I am using this code :
TelephonyManager mTelephonyMgr = (TelephonyManager)getSystemService(TELEPHONY_SERVICE); String softwareVer = mTelephonyMgr.getDeviceSoftwareVersion();
When I try this on a ADP2 (Google Ion with Android OS 1.6) it will return 02... Is there any table or something that relates such a return value to a specific OS ? Is there any other way to actually retrieve the OS version directly, as in returns directly 1.6?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to have a TCP/IP access to Windows 7 PC from Android device (create a LAN between them) using just direct connection via USB cable, without wifi or bluetooth? I already have it working using wifi, but I am also interested in just USB cable way.
I do _not_ need to use PC's internet connection, I only want to access the PC itself. I want to access HTTP/FTP/SSH servers on the PC and its samba (Windows Network) shares via Android CifsManager app.
Is this possible using "reverse tethering" solution which is used to access PC's internet connectivity on Android device and uses some 3rd party app? Is there a simpler solution without using 3rd party apps? Is this possible somehow via adb?
My Android device uses Android 4.0.3 and is rooted. My Windows version is Windows 7 64-bit.
Is it possible and if yes, how to start application directly from email, or browser. What I want to achieve:
user receives in email some activation link, clicks it and he is redirected to app, possibly with some Extras put into intent.
