I was using Battery Widget prior to a rom upgrade and it was great as it showed the %.Since the upgrade it doesn't show the %.I've tried one or 2 others but they don't have the % being shown either.To save me downloading every damn battery application can someone who has done the ROM upgrade let me know what they are using.

I'm trying to drain my battery it was at 7% I rebooted my phone cuz i know that kills battery but when it rebooted it said the battery is 13% now what gives why'd it do that.

Switched back to the 3500mah battery and my battery widget says its at 50 percent I mean I can understand the widget isn't perfect but wow that's a big margin to be off by so how do I know how much charge it really has? O and i used the htc widget.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone for the first time yesterday, which was easier than I thought, and I flashed Fresh 2.0d and it is running awesome. I am having one issue and that is downloading the HTC battery widget back to my phone, it fails on install. Is that because the battery is being sent to the SD card and it can't run there? Any work around on that? Or is there a better battery app out there to use?

Right now I can only see one person I'm following in the widget, is there a way to see tweets from everyone within the widget? I checked settings, but no such luck.
Also, is it another battery drainer similar to the weather and people widget?
Background info:
- I'm running the "Battery Left" widget and I have it displaying "estimated percentage left", "system percentage", and "estimated time left until dead".
- I listen to A LOT of Slacker Radio.
My issues:
- I was previously getting about 19+ hours out of a fully charged battery. 2-3 days ago I started having issues with the widget (I think it may have started when I installed an update to the widget) so I recalibrated it to no avail. Then I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Within a few hours it claimed that it was getting accurate readings (when I first installed the widget weeks ago, it took days to get accurate) and now says that I should be getting 9 hours out of a fully charged battery. I know that can't be right so I'll see how the widget adjusts itself over the next few days, but, any thoughts? (I know a lot of you guys use the same widget and know how it works...)
- Also, In the first two hours of my phone being unplugged this morning, it went from 100% to 70%. I did run Slacker for about an hour and a half of that time, but could it really drain the battery that much that quickly? And I noticed that when I close Slacker, if I go into phone settings, applications, running services - there's still a Slacker update thing running in there. Could that be draining the battery too, even if it's only checking for updates?
- I really don't run a lot of stuff on this phone. I keep wifi and gps turned off. I use bluetooth only a few hours each night. Minimal web browsing. Although, my POP email gets checked every 5 mins (but I just changed it to every 10) and I do use gchat and text a decent amount, but I'd say overall, it's "light" use (except for Slacker which could be a huge drain, right?)
Which of these batteries do you suggest for my Eris? I am still in the 30 day period (and plan to upgrade if a newer phone is released within the period), but after that I am pretty sure I am going to get an upgraded battery.

The Seido one is larger and has a reputation, whereas the ebay one is slightly larger, but comes with the charger so that I can carry two. With the Seido, I would probably just do a complete replacement and not carry the extra. The ebay on is also vastly cheaper. <--not too big a factor, as if I keep the phone I will not cheap out on arguably one of the most important parts. However, as a colege student, the cheaper price is nice.
I updated last week to 4.0.4 last week on an unrooted galaxy S2 and since the phone will just die at random moments even with 100% battery power and when I switch it back on it will be critically low and will need charging....I have done a factory reset but it hasn't worked..
View 1 Replies View RelatedBefore the update I would bring my phone to work at 100% and with moderate usage, maybe some Pandora/web browsing and it would be nearly dead by the time I brought it home 8-9 hours later. Or even at night lets say it was at 100% when I went to bed, I'd wake up without it plugged in 6-8 hours later and it would be down around 50% battery. Now the difference is almost night and day. In those same time periods I'm coming home from work now with 60-70% battery when I had 10-20% before. And in stand-by the phone hardly uses any battery, at most 1-2% per hour. I am now extremely satisfied with the battery use, it's much improved from the Palm Pre I came from. Also, before the update my phone was power cycling/resetting about every 10-20 mins. I would also experience times of extreme lag when trying to either open multiple apps at once or go through the menus very fast. I even had an an appointment setup at Sprint to have them look at the phone. However, once I applied the update the phone is much faster and I haven't experienced so much as a hiccup. Anyone else experiencing these positive changes?

On the link provided by the 3 website the Rom upgrade available is ROM version 2.73.405.5 but the one on my phone is 2.73.771.62. Now I'm assuming that the bigger the number, the more recent the software. Am I right with this and if so, am I correct in thinking I don't need to upgrade the ROM?

Even now im still trying to find new things to do with 2.1 that i couldnt do before. I thought why have a thread that people can post new things about 2.1 ROMs so that fence sitters can have a decision. So put up the apps/widgets etc that are 2.1 only and why they are so great. Also remember to state if it is ROM dependant (Villain/SenseHero etc)I am on SenseHero 2.2 the pinch zoom in home screen that shows an overview of all your 7 screens is wonderful. It makes getting to the end screens so much quicker, and it looks super flashy.At first i didnt like the theme but now i really quite like it.Live Wallpapers & 3D gallery they are pretty nifty, however on my device were not so smooth so I uninstalled as it is really just eye candy and does not add to the use of the phone. Much the same with 3d gallery, i had a few minor problems but was happy with the original gallery so switched back. Your experience with these may differ though so they are worth a look.Bluetooth file transfer is working? Or so i have heard, i havn't tested yet though Google Goggles, Although 1.6 is required, most people are on 1.5 roms. It is a really cool app, works great when wanting an online price as opposed to a store price. Ive used it to find some info on books for uni etc. It stores your history so you can recall everything you have searched.
AOSP Keyboard, I got quite used to the HTC keyboard but once i swapper it for this there was no going back. Much quiker than HTC keyboard and a lot easier to type. Though i do miss the long press for symbols, i can live without them.As for apps and widgets, so far im not too sure. I hope some others can suggest some.
On Saturday the 3rd i got a htc hero from t-mobile on contract, since then a ROM has been released on the phone the build number is 1.76 110.6 146733 CL47214release keys. the question is do i need to upgrade the ROM on it?

It's a G-Sensor calibration tool so nothing exciting but I wasn't expecting anything ever again after getting 2.1!

Took about five minutes for the device to fully reboot into the phone after the progress bar reached the end so don't be tempted to turn it off during this process.

I recently learnt of this update, but having real trouble installing it. I sync Hero to HTC, follow instructions, get half way through to point where blue bar says it's erased 11% of contacts...and every single time I get error 171: USB connection error. The phone or computer keeps dropping the connection; anyone got any ideas why this might be happening and how to solve it?

Was wondering if it was worth upgrading?I'm happy with the way the phone is, so unless there's a serious improvement I probably won't bother.
My build number says 2.73.405.5 MCR2.2c.On another note, if I did upgrade, would it put the phone back to factory standard (i.e would I lose all my customisation, apps, etc)?
Can't quite believe some of us are here, now on 2.1 unbranded in the UK. Due to the heat last night couldn't sleep so got up at 12am, out of curisoty checked for updates........2.30am after downloading i'm still sat on the decking checking the new features........
Anyway, one thing i have noticed is the fact i cannot log onto LastFm using the app, has anyone else had this!!!! I can log in fine via a pc so i know it's not my account, just from the phone.
Like many other I am delighted to finally have 2.1 on my Hero. But I have found a slight niggle with the way contacts are stored which seems a bit different and wondered if anyone else had noticed it and/or found an easy solution to the problem it causes.
When I installed 2.1 I didn't check the sync settings and the default was to sync Google contacts, so it appears all those contacts have been synced to my phone. I don't use those, so I un-checked the sync Google contacts flag and set the view option in the People app to only view Phone contacts.
My recollection is (but I could be wrong) that under 1.5, if you un-checked the sync Google contacts setting, all the Google contacts were removed. This does not seem to have happened this time. In the View contacts settings page it's still showing 1613 Google contacts.
The real problem is that when I use the phone keypad smart dial, it still finds the Google contacts so they still come up as options. (As do the SIM card contacts despite the settings in the People app).
Has anyone else found this? And if so, is there a way to 'un-sync' the Google contacts so that they are removed from the phone?

View 6 Replies View RelatedIve been trying to downgrade to version .5 for days! Im about ready to throw my hero out the window! I have rooted it before, So I know im capable of it. Nothing ever goes right, ive tried every method gold card included. When im trying to downgrade to .5 when it come time "upgrade" the only option that the installer gives me is .6 which I already have! So ive tried to run that to see what might and happen and it always gets an error 170 usb connection after its at about 70 percent!
