I rooted my phone for the first time yesterday, which was easier than I thought, and I flashed Fresh 2.0d and it is running awesome. I am having one issue and that is downloading the HTC battery widget back to my phone, it fails on install. Is that because the battery is being sent to the SD card and it can't run there? Any work around on that? Or is there a better battery app out there to use?

I'm trying to drain my battery it was at 7% I rebooted my phone cuz i know that kills battery but when it rebooted it said the battery is 13% now what gives why'd it do that.

Switched back to the 3500mah battery and my battery widget says its at 50 percent I mean I can understand the widget isn't perfect but wow that's a big margin to be off by so how do I know how much charge it really has? O and i used the htc widget.

I just FR my Incredible to try to improve the battery life, and the battery widget I used to have by HTC Corporation is no longer in the Market! Does anyone else have suggestions for the best widget they've found? I liked the HTC widget because you could see more details when you clicked the icon as well as the relatively small icon size. Also, is it really better to not install Advanced Task Killer??

My environment vars have: JAVA_HOME=c:progra~1javajdk1.6.0_11. I downloaded android-sdk-r04-windows.zip. I unziped it in V:AndroidInstall
When I go to the V:androindinstallandroid-sdk-windows> and type "SDK Install.exe" nothing happens...If I go this from graph
When I do this from a graphical file viewer I get a quick flash that looks like a command line window and nothing....
When I try to run android list targets from the tool directory I get:
Error: Error parsing the sdk.
Error: V:androindinstallandroid-sdk-windowsplatforms is missing.
Error: Unable to parse SDK content.
So the basic install setup is not happening.
Additional clues:
I have a G1 and Android 1.0 was running on this machine. (Almost a year ago) I've updated my G1 to 1.6 so I thought I'd update my SDK before starting new development.
When I tried to upgrade it tried and then died as the "directory was in use"
So I cleaned out all the android directories, rebooted and redownloaded everythign from scratch.
Now it won't run at all.
I've clearly got something in an unhappy state, but I've cleaned up all the directories and no remanants seem to be running I've rebooted....
is there a guide on how to install 2.1 on sprint hero? i already rooted the phone, is there anything that i need to do before i flash to 2.1?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI hate the lock screen on the Hero, I know their is a way to turn it off, but i don't like getting a message and then the phone doing something in my pocket. Is their a way to extract the .apk of the lock screen from the droid, and just install it on the hero, I understand that the resolution on the hero is different, but hate the current lock screen, i have to slide it down 2-3 times for it to recognize. I downloaded lock 2.0 already on the market, its not bad. but it takes 3-4 seconds on my phone to actually give me the slide to unlock screen.

When a user tries to add a widget I provide with a configuration screen. and some data is collected - it is verified by the server - it is added to the local DB with appWidgetID as the key - all is good. when user hits save, if there is not enough space, he is given a polite toast - "No more room on this home screen". Now my problem is that the application is not informed of this. Application still assumes the widget was created and sits back and wait for the broadcast to update the widget after certain amount of time.
Can anyone tell me if i can find out via a broadcast or a call back or any method possible to determine if the widget was not successfully created, so that i can mark that record in my DB as deleted. Or better if i can know the space available beforehand via some magic ninja code. my whole application design is disturbed because of this problem.

I can live with not using apps2sd if it means I don't need to re-copy my entire sd card which is near full.
