For some reason a row of keys on my keyboard will not work properly. I have to sort of hit the "top" of the key, or it wont pick up anything at all. It's frustrating because every other row of keys works. It does this in both screen modes. It is mostly affecting keys towards the very bottom of my screen if I hold the eris from the bottom.

I recently bought on-ear headphones "The House of Marley," and like all modern headphones, the box says "For iPhone and iPad". The headphones, on my Android Nexus One work well, but the volume keys do not work. Is there a way to make them work well on Android phones?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAbout 10 minutes ago i tried to hit the home button and it didnt work. I proceded to push the back button and it worked to take to the home screen. I then tried the menu button and it worked. I then tried the search button and it didnt work.Is this a known problem and if so how do i fix it? If theres no fix will verizon give me a replacement?

Basically I don't want the volume keys to work at all when the phone is locked. My volume is always lower when the phone comes out of my pocket than it was when I put it in.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm on my 3rd Eris - replaced each one for the silent bug. This one hasn't gone silent yet, but the soft keys (home, menu, back, and search) don't light up. Major PITA when using the phone at night. When I took it back to Verizon,they said the buttons aren't supposed to light up. Now I'm second guessing myself. So, can someone with an Eris check it out on your phone and see if the buttons light up? Is there a setting for this that I'm missing? BTW - This last replacement shipped with 2.1 installed and hboot 1.49.

Is there a way to disable the bottom keys (Menu, Home, Back, Search, etc etc) from vibrating when touch? Even when I dial a number the keys are vibrating (haptic feedback) I've read the manual. Just havent found a way to stop it
View 4 Replies View RelatedSince I updated my software the other day, when I type a text message in the native program I cannot use the Shift (up arrow key) when the phone is vertical. When I flip it horizontal the shift key works, but then the ABC to # key no longer works. Does anyone else have this problem? Verizon's only advice was to pull the battery out...of course did nothing.

I heard that there were issues with several gvoice updates, so I haven't updated google voice since 0.2.8 and it is working just fine- every call connects, no problems. Is it worth updating to the newest version of google voice with push? For those of you with 2.1 on your Eris- does google voice work for you?
View 12 Replies View RelatedLurked for short time. Good site. Wife and I got Eris each. hers does not 'buzz' when tapping the 'home, menu, back and search' touch keys. Could not figure it out. Any suggestions? (Love the phones by the way!) OH!!! And, bought the Seido 3500 mah battery. it really is not that big, fits in my hand nicely. I will let you know how it lasts. charged last night and still strong today. But I will keep updated.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI recently activated my old Blackberry Curve because of my frustration with certain features on my Eris. I thought that I would still be able to browse the Internet on my Eris using wifi only but it's not really working. The reason I say "not really" is because I can do a Google search and look at Google News, etc, but I can't really go anywhere else. If I click on a link, or select one of my bookmarks, it just sits there and eventually times out. Does anyone understand why this won't work? When my Eris was activated, I could use wifi in areas where I had no cell coverage. I may reactivate my Eris soon.... I do miss the fun of it. Also the call quality is somewhat better than my Curve - although the Curve gets better reception in marginal signal areas. Love my Curve for push email and the real keyboard. When it's time for an upgrade, I am going to have a hard time deciding whether to go with the latest Blackberry or Android phone. If they come out with a top of the line android phone with a good physical keyboard (not like the Droid's) I will be very tempted.

I was just looking at a newly released video of the Nexus One and I wondered if the ERis gets updated to 2.1 would it be able to handle the movement of the background images. I noticed with Beautiful Widgets, before it was laid to rest, that if you clicked on the weather when it was cloudy you could see the clouds moving in the background. But will the constant moving images on 2.1 slow up the processor on the Eris.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWell, I rooted my Eris to 2.1, mainly for the Navigator option, and all seems to be alright EXCEPT Google maps & Navigation. I get a exception message and only option is a Forced Close.
Have tried the Manage Apps-Filter--Do not get option to delete Updates--only choice is to clear data.
If I do that, where will I re download the google maps app?

Here is the spec's include a 3.5-inch WVGA display, 600 MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor, 3.2 MP camera with 30fps video record/playback, and Android 1.6. So this is great news for us that already have the Eris on Cricket because now there will be a way to fix the mms problem and the broadband work around. As soon as they release this phone I will be digging in to fix these problem that we all have right now I hope that they go with a mobile IP lets all keep our fingers crossed.

There are some people with multiple stock 1.5 unmodified Eris's in the SAME household on the same vzw account where only one eris has received the update while the other one still awaits why? In what sort of communication and what software is in control of this, what decides what phone gets it and what phone has to wait longer till it receives it? I have my Eris activated on All tel, I changed the PRL to my local all tel's PRL, changed the 3g login info to All tel... Been like that since the end of December, I received an OTA update for 1.5 way back when even with my phone activated on all tel, does that mean it is GOOGLE doing the OTA control or is it verizon?... Very strange if you ask me.

The email address is acbd@temple.edu, they use gmail but the email address uses @temple.edu...Ive tried both pop and imap both of which i have turned on in my email settings.
