I recently bought on-ear headphones "The House of Marley," and like all modern headphones, the box says "For iPhone and iPad". The headphones, on my Android Nexus One work well, but the volume keys do not work. Is there a way to make them work well on Android phones?

Mod for skipping songs with the volume keys for the songs which you listen at the moment? PlayerPro has this function but it is very laggy and unstable. Is there any mod for this? For iOS the program is called GlovePod.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a Cobalt SP300 on eBay and one of its faults is that the power button on top is a little shallow and hard to push...unfortunately it's the only way to wake the screen. I really want to use the volume keys to wake up the screen. I've tried a button remapper app (didn't work correctly) and tried an app called No Lock which disables the lock screen and allows you to wake the screen with the volume keys. The problem with it is that it only works like 10% of the time and I like the lock screen as well.
I think my only other option at this point is to manually try to edit the files. I found out how to root my phone and then through root explorer went to system/usr/keylayout and there is a file I think maps the buttons: mt6575-kpd.kl

So I see the volume keys say WAKE_DROPPED instead of just wake. According to a search I did by what the dropped part means, it should still wake the screen but it doesn't. Would it be sensible to edit these to only wake? Do I chance bricking my phone doing this? I tried to backup my phone using MTKDroidTools but I can't get the backup function to work...
I cannot control my volumes with volume keys on my Sony Xperia Z tablet. It changes the notification volume instead of media volume which is quite fustrating when trying to watch movies or listening to songs. I have to go to setting and change media volume seperatly. This issue started just a few days ago.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm ultimately looking for a way to play/pause and skip music without turning on the screen. I had an HTC Hero a while back running CM7 RC, and I had a few options for this. Holding the volume rocker up or down skipped the song forward and backwards respectively, and when I had a headset in, the Mic button could also have these functions. A single press would play/pause, or answer a call (depending on phone state), double tap would skip the song, and a long press would activate voice search.
I now have the Epic 4G, and none of these functions work anymore. The volume rocker just changes the volume, and the mic button only answers calls, or activates voice dialing, and even then, the screen has to be on and unlocked. I find this of mild annoyance. I haven't found any obvious way to change these settings.
Basically, I want to know how do I change the function of hardware keys? Specifically, the mic button on a wired headset and the volume rockers for music functions.
I did encounter a small gripe while listening to music on it today though. Can you change the songs with the physical volume keys when the phone is locked? I know on my Bold you hold the volume keys and it changes songs

I made a mp3 as my text message tone...its only 6 or 7 seconds long..but, the problem I am encountering is that when my phone is idle and my text message tone goes off upon receipt of a new text...I am finding myself using the unlock button to awaken the phone..swiping my finger on the screen to unlock the phone, and then going to the message icon to FINALLY disable the text message tone from continuing.
Is there a way for the phone to recognize that I am touching it, using the lock button on top of the phone or the volume keys..or SOMETHING other than having to actually wake, unlock, and enter the message area?
Not crazy about the placement of the power button. Is there a way to remap the volume or camera buttons to wake the phone? And yes, I've seen the "No lock" thread, but I still want the phone to be somewhat difficult to accidentally unlock. What would be perfect would be a double click of one of the other buttons to waken and unlock the phone. Is this possible? Maybe it's a root thing?

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor some reason a row of keys on my keyboard will not work properly. I have to sort of hit the "top" of the key, or it wont pick up anything at all. It's frustrating because every other row of keys works. It does this in both screen modes. It is mostly affecting keys towards the very bottom of my screen if I hold the eris from the bottom.

View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently purchased the Virgin Mobile Supreme (Sprint Vital, ZTE N9810). The one thing that is bothering me is that there is only one volume setting for the combined ringtone and notifications. I would like to set these volumes separately.
I tried one volume control tool, but even though it had 'separate' controls changing ringtone changed notification and vice versa.
Does anybody know of any app that will allow the headset volume control to work with the HTC inc? I just bought the Klipsch Image S4i headphones with the mic and remote. It was designed for the ipone but I thought it would work for this phone also. The pause and play work, and even answering the phone works. Although all of those are the same button.

Here is the problem:
My back button has always seemed a bit glitchy and one of my friend told me to hit *#*#2663*#*# and hit "Touch key FW update".
I did that and my back button was acting even worse so I went back in and hit "TSP FW update".
Now my buttons do not work at all! I read somewhere that old me to do a factory reset but I really REALLY don't want to as I cant even backup my stuff in Titanium Backup Root because I have no menu key.
Both times the update came back with a pass and there was no error.
I unlocked my Xperia Mini and TrackID is no longer works
Any way to restore DRM keys and reactivate TrackID ?
Everything was working fine on my Samsung galaxy s alpa sc-03e this is the link to the thread URL.... I have successfully rooted and installed recovery and enjoying the few custom roms, then suddenly I installed S3 i9305 rom didn't got the success, then install philz recovery URL.... and installed slim rom from Note 2 section URL.... 6 and then after appearing docomo logo black screen, then I put it on Download mode and installed stock rom but now touch not working. How can i access to this ? Its never happened in my life after installing so many roms in so many devices. And also Black Button key is not working, How I can remap all this ?

Looking to remap my home key, and my menu and back soft keys on my s3. I've looked at editing scripts, and even Xposed modules for this and here is what I found.
I can remap my keys manually, but I cannot map them to open an application.
With Gravity Box Module, I can map the applications to launch on a double press or a long press.
Here is what I want to do with a single tap.
[MENU SOFT KEY] [HOME KEY] [BACK SOFT KEY]
Open Phone Open search Open Camera
Is there an xposed module for this?
I am a 4.2.1 Jelly Been user. & my Hardwere keys( Menu Key , Home Button ,& Back Key) are not working anymore. but my screen works fine. How to add soft keys on screen without rooting my device? I am using apps from google play which can enable Home & Back soft key without rooting my device. But i dont want to use any app like that because it prob a lot. How to add these three keys without using any app from play store? how to do coding ? & will be great if the menu key is also be enable on screen with out rooting my device.
I have seen post which tells how to enable the on-screen navigation buttons but it required root. Home & Back button code will be fine too if without root. & will be great if with menu key.
I reecntly bought a Rapoo BT keyb (E6300), it is optimized for the Apple products therefore some keys do not behave as i wish with my Nexus S.

well, after some more digging, i think i won't need to make a KCM. Still i can't find a way to let my Keyb to use my keyboardlayout. According to catalog it still uses the generic.kl even if in the right directory a file with the keyboard name exists...
