Feb 23, 2010I'm using Google Calendar and syncing it to my Eris, and for some reason it's damn flaky. Half the time it works, but then if, say, I delete one event out of a recurring pattern from the phone,com.htc. provider. calendar crashes every time the phone tries to update its calendar! It will continually do this until I force stop it, reset the calendar storage and re-sync manually from Google's servers. That, and I've deleted a few events on calendar.google.com and have re-sync'd the phone manually a bunch of times and it won't seem to affect the data on the phone. I mean, it's nice to not have to pay for push calendar sync (like Apple asks you to with MobileMe), but c'mon Google & HTC. First the YouTube app never works on mobile network, Google Maps won't let you arbitrarily pick a location to map to, and this calendar syncing bs? These are things that should just work on a phone with the Google logo on the back.

Nov 18, 2010So for my Eris i flashed the new kayos v38 rom and add the conap cfs v8 for the camera and battery drain fix.
Now heres a new problem that I notice! The vibrate for the incoming phone doesnt work It worked last time a install the exact same thing. but now it's like total silence when i put my phone on vibrate.

Jul 8, 2010I just read an article about the improved youtube mobile site at m.youtube.com. I have used the youtube app since the ota that was sent out to fix it and downloaded an apk that allowed it to always default to HQ rather than having to change it each time. But I just tried out the mobile site and it is blazingly fast compared to the app. The only thing that would make me not use this over the app is that I didn't see a way to watch the videos in HQ. Am I missing something? Does anyone else have a preference for the mobile site over the app or vice versa?

Sep 9, 2010My browser doesnt seem to be working anymore. I am using the stock browser and it worked fine up until a week ago. I use it primarily for a forum such as this and it freezes up all the time. I've tried clearing the cache and cookies and nothing seems to help. Not sure if I should go with another browser but I downloaded the dolphin one and that did the same thing. Anyone have a clue? Im not pc smart so please talk "dumb" to me if you have any clues!

Apr 22, 2010I recently activated my old Blackberry Curve because of my frustration with certain features on my Eris. I thought that I would still be able to browse the Internet on my Eris using wifi only but it's not really working. The reason I say "not really" is because I can do a Google search and look at Google News, etc, but I can't really go anywhere else. If I click on a link, or select one of my bookmarks, it just sits there and eventually times out. Does anyone understand why this won't work? When my Eris was activated, I could use wifi in areas where I had no cell coverage. I may reactivate my Eris soon.... I do miss the fun of it. Also the call quality is somewhat better than my Curve - although the Curve gets better reception in marginal signal areas. Love my Curve for push email and the real keyboard. When it's time for an upgrade, I am going to have a hard time deciding whether to go with the latest Blackberry or Android phone. If they come out with a top of the line android phone with a good physical keyboard (not like the Droid's) I will be very tempted.

I was just looking at a newly released video of the Nexus One and I wondered if the ERis gets updated to 2.1 would it be able to handle the movement of the background images. I noticed with Beautiful Widgets, before it was laid to rest, that if you clicked on the weather when it was cloudy you could see the clouds moving in the background. But will the constant moving images on 2.1 slow up the processor on the Eris.

Jan 25, 2010Before i start i just want to say that this worked for me. i do not have multiple eri (plural of eris)to test this on.. so if you want to try it and post your results. i was just playing around with my phone and decided to turn sense off. i was playing around with it and then i decided to try youtube. it worked on every video that i tried (with different users and everything). some background info>> my youtube application has never really worked.. it used to be where i could just try the video a few times and after a few error messages it would work. but now, with sense off, it works perfectly. i just thought i would put that out there so that if youtube was that important to you (because i would rather sense than youtube) then you can turn sense off before you decide you need to file a "law suite".

May 24, 2010I've been having a problem with my YouTube account ever since I did the OS update from Verizon. I keep getting a notification that says there was a sign-in error with it. When I click on it, it prompts for my password. I enter my password, and occasionally there's a Captcha to enter, but mostly there isn't. Either way, it doesn't accept it, and keeps prompting me to log in. I turned off the sync options for that account in the settings menu, but it still happens, just not as often. YouTube works just fine, as do all my e-mail accounts and the like.

Sep 3, 2010So the packaged YouTube app will start playing a video and lock somewhere close to the beginning. I was trying to play something this morning and I would get somewhere between 7 and 10 seconds before it just stopped. I had to back out and try again.
Well after trying it 3 or 4 times with no luck, I finally went into my browser and got in through there and it was fine. So after this fiasco which was about 5 or 6 minutes tops, I noticed that my battery had drained 15%! 15% in 5 minutes! Thats so broken!
