View 1 RepliesAre there any Droid users out there that are having trouble tracking and locking their phone with the Wave Secure? It backed up my info fine but it can't locate or lock my phone in both Firefox and IE. I installed Mobile Defense before I installed Wave Secure to test them both out but I've heard of ppl running them both with no problems.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed a trial or free version of Wave Secure to my Droid for the purpose of backing up SMS messages. I used it once or twice. Now it's locking me out of my phone. It's asking for a PIN, and I don't know it. If you go to the Wave Secure website, there is a page for resetting the PIN, but I can't seem to enter an email or phone # with international code that it accepts.

When purchasing the eris I had it in mind to possibly trade stocks from scottrade mobile, or pay my cell phone bill via it. How secure is this device to put important passwords into it?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was finally able to come up with secure way to mount my Eris to my Road bike, although I believe it is secure enough to work on a mountain bike to but I will have to try that later. I had been looking for a while to find a way to attach my Eris to my bike without the use of bulky devices like the universal one from the bike store. I finally saw the Shell / Holster Combo at Verizon and decided to give it a try.
I purchased the Combo from Verizon for $23. Here is a link to the Combo. I have attached pictures. This Combo seems very durable so I think it is a good fit for this job. It says the phone is supposed to be faced in, but the holster doesn't appear to be causing any problems with the phone its just a snug fit. Which is what I want anyway..................
I'm sure I'm not the only one with naughty pics of my girl friend or other girls on my phone that I don't want the girl friend, other girls, or friends and people in general to see...
Is there a way to put these files in a secure/passwored folder on the SD card that the "Albums" or any other video/pic app can't access? Besides keeping my phone locked, I don't want someone accidently flicking through the photo album and stumble upon these. Also I noticed even switching the Wallpaper shows all the pics on the phone.
I have an idea of an app called "Stash" where you can move any files (maybe even contacts/texts) to a particular place on the SD card that the phone can not find.
Assuming the "Better Terminal Emulator" selling for $3.99 in the marketplace works, are there any other terminal apps that work with the Eris that people are using? I tried the free "Terminal Emulator" but it appears a virtual keyboard does not work.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI recently activated my old Blackberry Curve because of my frustration with certain features on my Eris. I thought that I would still be able to browse the Internet on my Eris using wifi only but it's not really working. The reason I say "not really" is because I can do a Google search and look at Google News, etc, but I can't really go anywhere else. If I click on a link, or select one of my bookmarks, it just sits there and eventually times out. Does anyone understand why this won't work? When my Eris was activated, I could use wifi in areas where I had no cell coverage. I may reactivate my Eris soon.... I do miss the fun of it. Also the call quality is somewhat better than my Curve - although the Curve gets better reception in marginal signal areas. Love my Curve for push email and the real keyboard. When it's time for an upgrade, I am going to have a hard time deciding whether to go with the latest Blackberry or Android phone. If they come out with a top of the line android phone with a good physical keyboard (not like the Droid's) I will be very tempted.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI was just looking over at the apps section of androidforums and found a link for the Need for Speed Shift apk. Has anybody tried it on the Eris to see if it works? I assume the processor can't handle it, but thought I would ask.
View 6 Replies View RelatedLike most Eris owners, I am eagerly waiting for an Android upgrade. I was just looking at a newly released video of the Nexus One and I wondered if the ERis gets updated to 2.1 would it be able to handle the movement of the background images. I noticed with Beautiful Widgets, before it was laid to rest, that if you clicked on the weather when it was cloudy you could see the clouds moving in the background. But will the constant moving images on 2.1 slow up the processor on the Eris.
View 49 Replies View RelatedI have been running Wave secure since I had my Hero and from day one with the EVO as well. The remote tracking feature does not work well without having your GPS enabled. Without root, there is no way to turn the GPS on remotely. Now with root access, you can simply push the .apk file to the system/apps directory and Wave secure will install. Now when you log into your Wave secure portal and track, the GPS turns on. This will be great if you ever lose your phone. I tested it and it works flawlessly. Also, Wave secure says that you can make the software hard reset proof by installing in the system directory. I did not test this. Below are instructions on how to do both if you are interested. https://www.wavesecure.com/blog/how-to-make-wavesecure-hard-reset-proof.aspx
View 1 Replies View RelatedCame across a nifty little app for the Hero called Wave Secure. It lets you remotely access your phone and can be used to back up data, lock you phone, track its position and erase all the information on it ~ potentially quite handy as your Hero can store quite a lot of personal information. It's still in beta, and as a result is completely free to download and use. It seems pretty cool and simple to use but I've never really heard anything about it before. Does anyone else use it?
View 49 Replies View Relatedi've found very interesting stuff in the internet. according to the site wave secure contained a very major security leak for some months which has been exploited. it allowed hackers to get the users PIN to login to the web central of wave secure. which then gave them access to the private data of the users, let them track the phone, ... Wave Secure still gave no comment about this. I found the blog at Wave Secure Security Vulnerability Report hope it will be fixed soon.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a problem I hope somebody could help me with. l recently installed a trial version of Wave secure on my HTC Hero. I lost the phone a few days after the subscription had expired so I straight away bought the full version but it doesn't seem to be able to track the phone or issue a lock for it. Has anyone experienced anything similar and would wave secure be able to track it for me?

View 3 Replies View RelatedDoes it count as antivirus? I've been browsing some threads and people say antivirus apps are causing texting to force close and randomly delete all messages. I keep having this problem and was wondering if uninstalling Wave secure would help
View 4 Replies View RelatedI find that the tracking on wave secure isn't really that efficient especially since it's now an app with a monthly subscription. The main reason is that the gps tracking on it is really pretty poor in accuracy and this is the main thing I use it for. So are there any alternatives with more accurate tracking on it? ( I mean google maps gives it more accurate than WS)

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've had Wave secure installed for quite some time now and today the market app said that there was an update available to download. I clicked on it and there was a Note as follows: Due to a Samsung Galaxy firmware bug it can't be supported. The version number is shown as 3.0.0.62. I haven't updated because as far as I was aware the previous version was working ok, though it often sent emails to my wife stating that my phone had been stolen - usually when I was updating the rom etc. Has anyone else tried this latest update?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe title was quite blunt - but I'm writing this to warn others about paying for this product. I'm sure it is an excellent product - if you can get it to work. I made the mistake of paying for a subscription before I tried it. I have never been able to get it working.
I've been in contact with their support department who (very occasionally) reply to my email messages. I have done as they asked, run debug versions and supplied them with log files. They tell me that the problem is at their server end and they are trying to fix it. Since then (weeks ago) I've heard nothing despite repeat attempts to ask them for an update (and my money back). This morning, my phone told me that an update was available. I eagerly downloaded it in case this fixed the problem - it didn't. Just in case anyone from Wave Secure is reading this, please check support tickets IYR-245894 and BQO-385045 and you'll see how lousy you are at supporting a paying customer. So, although this product may be good, please don't buy it unless you are sure it works first. Also, if you have any problems, please don't hold your breath waiting for support from them as it probably won't happen.
So I loaded Wave secure beta to my Hero a couple weeks ago. I had occasion to travel to the west coast since and the phone locked as expected and unlocked when I entered my PIN. However, I wanted to test the remote locking feature and when I enter my login and password at the Wave secure web page it telss me I've entered incorrect info. I've verified the info multiple times but still can not login. I sent a msg to TenCube but haven't received a reply. Anyone else have this problem or know what the problem might be?
