I have the official21 Rom that came with the all in one file. I just installed the aloysius Leo Rom and moved it to my root of my SD card. Downloaded it with my Eris. Did the wipe and dalvik wipe then flashed from my SD card but now its saying "aborted. Failed line 2(something like that) any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I'm doing it all from my Eris.

I'm currently running Aloysius V9 but am wondering about EvilEris 2.0. Has anybody ran both of these Roms and if so, what do you think about them? I really like most of the features included with Aloysius but if EvilEris is noticeably faster I could deal with losing some things. I know its been touched on before but if you have experience with both, could you pease post a quick comparison.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have seen a lot of posts saying that people once they rooted they lost access to some of the apps they had with android 1.5.This is an HTC hero rom that was ported over to the eris that I am running right now. With this rom which is running 2.1 you will get access to the protected apps on the market (the apps that come up missing). Read the known bugs section though. Included is an app that circumvents the power down hang and I actully like using it more then shutting down the phone the convential way hope this helps. People running eris with 2.1 don't have access because it has not been officially released yet. View 1 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone and I have Aloysius 2.0.8 2.1 update rom . Everything has been working great until today when I started get the error code 67. Data call failure. Your PCS vision username or password may be incorrect. I tried the fix that is on the website for the error code 67 but when I go to setting /about phone/ to the system software update I need web access to update the profile on my phone. So can anyone help me with this problem with have to call Sprint?

Tried out EE 2.1 I think, but kinda crashed a lot on me, and froze up a bunch, so I just went back to the nandroid backup of the basic and stuck with it. That was like 2 months ago, and I thought maybe now, I should actually try out a real ROM. Now that EE 3.0 is up, I want to give it another shot. The question in all this crap is if I need to flash EE 2.0, and 2.1 to flash 3.0?

I didn't like it so i tried to n android restore back to WW and that wouldn't even work. So i re flashed WW and tried to reinstall my apps and it says "not enough memory" or something along those lines every time i try to reinstall an app.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently installed XtrSense ROM on my wifes Eris, and now she came to me today saying that she is getting "Low on space" errors, sure enough I checked, she only has 14mb on internal memory. I checked the amount of apps she has, and it wasn't much more then I had the phone when it was stock, she has like 20 apps in there, and when I had the phone on Stock, I had 30 apps and 100+mb free. So, is it the ROM that is taking up all the space? or the Nandroid backup? If I enabled Apps2SD will that move all apps to the sd card?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an Incredible, so not familiar with Eris, but I want to root my wife's phone and install XtrSense 4.1, as it seems to be a fast and stable ROM with no tweaks needed.
So, here are the steps:
1) One click root on XDA, install the rootme.zip file, reboot and should be rooted.
2) Run a nandroid backup
3) copy Xtr ROM to root of SD, wipe, and flash via "install from zip"
Is there anything I am missing, seems straightforward. The one step that confused me is this:
Wipe SD:ext partition
What does that step do?
This is for people that used either of the leak root methods. The engineering bootloader is an unsecured bootloader, and is better in many ways (google it I am not explaining why). Just say its harder to brick with it.Before attempting, please check your md5sums.I want to thank Framework for being my punching back and helping with this. And the desire guy's who's work stuck in my head and gave me this idea (Sorry I forgot who you are!!).
Step 1:
Get follow root tutorials and get amon's recovery installed. If you want to skip installing a new rom after rooting, You can flash EngTools.zip will root your device . If you flash engtools you can skip step 2.
Step 2:
Take a nandroid backup, if you wish as this will wipe your device.
My wife has an Eris, and the battery life isn't even 12 hours lately. I'd like to root her Eris and install a kernel to allow it to run slower while in standby. I searched this forum, and didn't see many if any threads dedicated to only kernels. Am I missing something? I saw the guide to rooting, and installing new roms, I want to leave everything in tact, just allow underclocking.

I followed the instructions (wiped out my sd card) and completely reset the phone to factory settings, put the file on the sd card, Volume down + the Power key and I get the 3 skater androids but no option to install the new os. Gmail for Android updated, becomes Market app - Engadget. seems nice but it shows up in market and downloads ok just will not install. it says it was unsuccessful. just in case it is relevant i have tazz 7 on my eris. it says only for 2.2 so is that why maybe? even though technically i am running froyo.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a stock Eris and the other day my sdcard went corrupted. I learned this from when I got the new swype beta email and went to download the .apk. It told me a sdcard was required (I had never taken the sdcard out of the phone to being with). Anyways I brought it to verizon and the guy said it was done and gave me a 16gb card (8 was in there previously). So now I was able to download the .apk file; however when I try to click on it to install it says I can't because there is not enough space on Phone.
Now I don't know how much for it is required. But I have 14gb on the card available and 25mg on the internal phone storage. Now since uninstalling swype and trying to download I haven't added any more apps that would take up additional space. I've actually uninstalled a few, so I should have more space than I did before this whole thing started.
Is it possible to do the leaked 2.0 without having a card reader? Anyone have it set so you can do it with the USB cable?
