Apr 28, 2010Is there a way to get Swype on the Aloysius ROM? I installed the apk, but I can't find where to check the box for Swype so I can use it in Handcent.

HTC :: Aloysius V9 Vs Evil Eris 2.0?
May 7, 2010I'm currently running Aloysius V9 but am wondering about EvilEris 2.0. Has anybody ran both of these Roms and if so, what do you think about them? I really like most of the features included with Aloysius but if EvilEris is noticeably faster I could deal with losing some things. I know its been touched on before but if you have experience with both, could you pease post a quick comparison.

May 5, 2010I put the file from the stickied thread on to my phone, did the wipes and then flashed it and it has been doing the thing with the red blue yellow and green lines for a couple of hours now... Is it safe to do a battery pull and try something else, or what should I do?

May 23, 2010I have the official21 Rom that came with the all in one file. I just installed the aloysius Leo Rom and moved it to my root of my SD card. Downloaded it with my Eris. Did the wipe and dalvik wipe then flashed from my SD card but now its saying "aborted. Failed line 2(something like that) any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I'm doing it all from my Eris.

Apr 19, 2010I have seen a lot of posts saying that people once they rooted they lost access to some of the apps they had with android 1.5.This is an HTC hero rom that was ported over to the eris that I am running right now. With this rom which is running 2.1 you will get access to the protected apps on the market (the apps that come up missing). Read the known bugs section though. Included is an app that circumvents the power down hang and I actully like using it more then shutting down the phone the convential way hope this helps. People running eris with 2.1 don't have access because it has not been officially released yet. Also, is there a way to get the circle battery icon in the notification to work for aloysius? I feel with these 2 features added, this rom would be even better!

May 20, 2010I rooted my phone and I have Aloysius 2.0.8 2.1 update rom . Everything has been working great until today when I started get the error code 67. Data call failure. Your PCS vision username or password may be incorrect. I tried the fix that is on the website for the error code 67 but when I go to setting /about phone/ to the system software update I need web access to update the profile on my phone. So can anyone help me with this problem with have to call Sprint?

Sep 19, 2010I installed the lastest version of swype( did not have anything installed on this ROM).I saw the other thread was locked so I'm starting a new one I guess. Everything installed fine, but nothing happens when I swype. Manually typing works but when I swype it just shows the line makes a noise and nothing happens.

Apr 8, 2010I've got my phone up and running with sense-able 2.0 but for some reason swype is not working correctly. It never seems to make the line all the way to the letter I'm trying to type. Its like this for every letter. Its especially missing the last letter it usually ends up a couple letters away from where I end up. I was using it just fine when I wasn't rooted and on 1.5 but now its giving me problems. I've even tried playing with the settings and it doesn't seem to help. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue. I guess I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling it.

Nov 8, 2010Does anyone know how Swype updates its dictionary? I know it pulls words from my contacts list, but does it get them from any other source? There are certain words that constantly show up in Swype, even though I have deleted them countless times. "i'd" is a big one. I would never type the word "I" and leave it uncapitalized, and, yet, it somehow keeps reappearing in the dictionary. Certain letter combinations like "nt," "ou," and others continue to show up, even after I've deleted them. That's what has me thinking it's pulling words from something else on the phone. Is there any way to make it stop doing that?

Jun 8, 2010I tried the swype keyboard a while ago and i friggin loved it, problem is, it was the beta version that you had to manually dl and move to sd card then install.I ran into a problem a couple weeks ago, it said my swype keyboard trial period was over and that I couldnt use it anymore, and now im stuck with the default keyboard again.Is there an official version of this thing out yet? or a different one? Sep 2, 2010So I used to use Swype on xtrROM 3.0.3 and it worked fine. After switching to 4.0.6.1, the swiping action doesn't produce any text but tapping the letters does. I've been all over the Swype forum and see a lot of complaints that Swype has the same problem on Froyo. Any ideas? At least I still was able to find SahpeWriter but it isn't as smooth as Swype was.

Apr 2, 2010I recently complained about keyboard lag on the latest leaked version of 2.1. I remember loving the Swype beta on 1.5 and decided to go ahead and re-download the installer. Everything installed nicely and i switched my input method to Swype. To my dismay, after swyping my first word, Swype displayed a pop up saying that "this swype package you installed is not configured for this device" and then refused to register any of my swyped words. This Eris keyboard business is now REALLY starting to piss me off. Before I break something, does anyone know how to get Swype Beta to work on this new leak? I, and my many fragile possessions, would be eternally grateful.

Mar 31, 2010Ok! Just a little confused here. Does Swype Lite not work with 2.1 ver.2 leak. I've followed everyones instructions and can even go through the Swype tutorial but the choice of keyboards doesn't show up when I try to send a text or e-mail. All I get is the stock keyboard. Am I doing something seriously wrong here? This is somewhat fustrating because I prefer Swype by leaps and bounds. I'd buy it from the market but it's not available. I know some will send me to other posts with instructions, but I have tried them ALL. I just can't get it to work. Any suggestions?

HTC Droid Eris :: Swype / Difficulty In Loop On A Letter?
Jun 18, 2010I upgraded to the new beta of swype and since then have found one minor issue. when i try to loop on a letter to do a double letter like the t in the word letter, i have difficulty doing so. I have to make a very large loop that only crosses over the letter, rather than looping on top of it like i used to be able to do. i'm not sure if this is just something to do with a setting that got changed or if it is a bigger issue.

There should be an easy way to prevent swype to offer English (or any) words altogether. I want to be able to use Swype so it takes whatever word I swyped (swope?) in. There should be an easily accessible toggle control to allow this.
