HTC EVO 4G :: Syncing Email - What Settings To Use?

Motorola Droid X :: DX Not Syncing All Email Accts / Won't Send Corporate Email?
Nov 2, 2010I have searched and haven't been able to find any threads with one of my issues, so I apologize in advance if I missed one. Anyways, my DX has been working flawlessly since I got it back on 10/6. Sunday, 10/31, my DX quit syncing just my corporate Exchange 2003 emails, then yesterday it started not sending emails as well and now, this morning, it quit syncing my personal email. Corporate email will sync manually, just not push. I have rebooted several times, pulled the battery several times, and also deleted both my Exchange account and my personal account and re-added both and the problem still persists. I don't have any task killer apps installed and haven't recently added any apps since the issues started. Anyone have an idea what may be causing the lack of push (in and out) on both of my accounts?

Aug 5, 2010I have recently bought a HTC desire. I am able to receive my hotmail emails and can send them back but when I look on my laptop it still showed unread messages on both hotmail and outlook even when I have read them on my phone. I used to have an INQ phone and I didn't have any problems with this before.

Aug 30, 2010My gmail Email is not syncing with my phone automatically and it's driving me nuts. I have the phone set on Wi-fi, and in Performance mode and the email still doesn't sync unless I do it manually. Should I be looking for another Email app?TBH i can't even find any options like what i had on 2.1 to where i could change the frequency of syncing options.

Nov 20, 2010Earlier today my phone stopped automatically syncing with my work Microsoft Exchange. Yesterday was perfect ( I have had the phone for 3 months all ways synced before). I did a soft reset, nothing. Hard reset, nothing. All the setting are the same. It just continuously tries to sync, but never connects. Will I have to set up the account again or what ?

Sep 10, 2010I have a POP email address for work, and it seems like it will go days at a time without notifying me of new email, then all of the sudden send my 50 new emails. Do I have to open the htc mail program for it to sync? I want my emails to automatically be sent to my phone. Does anyone know if I have messed up a setting or something, or am I expecting blackberry performance from a phone that wont do that.

Nov 22, 2010I am having some difficulties with syncing my Shaw Cable email account while not on WiFi. If I'm on a WiFi network, I have no difficulties with email. However,I noticed that when I'm away from my WiFi network at home, I cannot sync with this email account. I get a "Network error" alert.
With Hotmail, I have no difficulties at all. My Hotmail account is able to sync where ever I go whether on or off WiFi. I'm currently with Bell (Canada). I used to own a Nokia N97 and had no difficulties with Shaw on that phone.
Android :: Outlook Syncing Email From Phone To Desktop
Aug 10, 2010In iTunes (I switched from Tmobile iPhone to Android Slide), when you desktop sync, if you delete an email on the phone, it deletes in the Outlook application (once sync'd).I understand why this does not work with Google Sync (well not really.why would they not do the same thing the iPhone does with deleted emails.I guess they tag/keep track of deletions, then compare to the PC).I delete many emails via my phone. With the current setup, I then have to go and remember what was deleted, then do it again on my PC (Windows). TMO customer service has no idea their answer is you have to delete them twice (and basically remember what you deleted).

Nov 12, 2009I have an issue with my Gmail app where I think no information is being 'sent' from the phone. I receive incoming mails, but no mails are sent. Though I delete incoming mails, the next notification which I receive when I get the next mail will show "17 mails" though I would have deleted the previous 16 emails. When I check email on my browser, all the emails what I had deleted are still there. I have tried a factory reset and I still have a problem.

Oct 22, 2010Anyone else have this problem? You read an email (or delete an email) from Aol. Ally syncs to check for new emails, and the emails you have read or deleted pop up again as new emails. Extremely frustrating and inconvenient, and was wondering if anyone else has this problem, and if there's a solution. Spoke to LG tech support and their solution was to delete the Aol IMAP account and add it again as a POP3 account, then select the 'Delete From Server' checkbox. (and they're supposedly working on a fix. this problem cropped up after i installed an update in August.) This solution seems to have solved that problem, but now it takes forever for Aol to sync with my Ally; and it drains the battery. I set up GMail to sync up with Aol, but it's not instantaneous. Sometimes i don't get new emails for 30 minutes or more. Not good for business. And the Aol mail mobile web page is slow.

Jul 17, 2010I have a student email account for Virginia tech and I can't get it set up properly on my phone. Is there certain settings I need to use to get it to work? I don't really know a whole lot about POP3 and IMAP etc. One thing I did notice is that when using Microsoft outlook at school everything works fine. But when I go home I can still receive messages but cant send them. I am thinking its because my IP address isn't one on campus and that messes up something with the servers?

Apr 25, 2010Has anyone experienced Timescape emails not syncing? My facebook and twitter feeds update properly, but the emails don't update unless I reboot. The emails will initially update after reboot, but won't update again until the next reboot. I've gone into "Email" and set my "Email check frequency" to every 5 minutes, but this does not seem to have any effect on Timescape.

Oct 20, 2010I've had the Sprint EVO for about a week now and love it, except for the fact that the email settings keep changing. I go in and change the notification settings to Notification Sound "On", and then, sometimes, a few hours later, when I notice that I haven't heard any emails come in, I'll check the settings and see that Notification Sound is now "Off." Same thing with download frequency and delete email on server.

Nov 23, 2010It seems that in my not being able to use the native email app with my yahoo email, which i read often is typical, and after I tried yahoo app that was provided by yahoo (this too was not very good, as I was told again was a frequent opinion), I was then referred to K-9 Email App by an HTC Rep.
Wow, it seems very nice and I love the interface, etc
However, after It brings in all my email, I am left with only being able to get them when I hit the button, "download up to 50 email" or something similar
I have in the "fetch" section, poll every 5 minutes. I see notifications up top that the next notification will be at 11:04 for instance, but NOTHING
I never get anything
Could someone who may know the app help me. What are some key settings I need
I have asked Tmo, HTC, and even wrote an email to the k9 creator...waiting
Any help is appreciated.
For some reason the native app just stopped working. Anyone know why that happened also

Apr 22, 2010I have the Samsung Moment on Sprint and I gotta say I do love everything about it, but on thing is troubling me. When I go to: Settings>Accounts>Add Account>Facebook
It just takes me back to the "Add Account" screen. There's no option to even input my information to sync the account. Does anyone know what could be causing this problem?

On my new Desire I can't seem to find any settings to set it up in the same sort of way i.e instant email. Dec 12, 2013I'm having issues ever since I switched to my first Android phone, which was the Nexus 4, 8 months ago.For some reason I can receive emails without any problems, but can't send any?They just sit in the Outbox forever!
- For incoming messages I have set it to POP3 / mail.xxx.xx - STARTTLS (accept all certificates) - Port 110
- And for outgoing messages I have set it to SMTP / smtp.mail.xxx.xxx - STARTTLS (accept all certificates) - Port 587
* I'm using the same settings as on my laptop, which work flawless under these settings.
