Ive been trying to set up my googlemail account to work with the HTC Email widget, when I put my settings in I cannot seem to access the outgoing email settings only incoming, thus meaning the account won't set up on the HTC mail widget.

I use a POP email (btconnect). When I am connected via Wifi I can send emails without any problem. When there is no Wifi and I only have a 3G signal I cannot get emails to send. I keep getting the error message that the email cannot be sent as the settings are incorrect. Running Android 2.2
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just swtiched from Blackberry to the HTC Desire. On my Blackberry, push email was exactly that - it was instant. On my new Desire I can't seem to find any settings to set it up in the same sort of way i.e instant email. I have succesfully set up around 4 or 5 accounts and the nearest settings I found was setting it to download every 5 minutes. Is this the nearest the Desire get's to push email?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have my email settings to retrieve every 5 minutes, sometimes when I reply to a email I get the unable to send mail then I check the account settings and it says unable to communicate with the driod outoutgoing server, I restart my phone then it will work but this is not a solution long term. Sprint has restarted my phone too.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHours later and almost out of power (started out with 75%), I turned the phone off. The email I received had 29 attachments and was 1.9 MB in size, and it loaded fairly quickly. But when I tried to forward it, I gave up after letting it grind away for a few hours. Couldn't figure out how to cancel an out going email, so I turned the phone off, and back on again. That stopped it from forwarding and placed it in the out box. I guess upload speeds with 3G really do suck. I can't wait for 4G. Turning the phone on and off did not stop it from trying to forward. Need help trying to figure out how to stop an outgoing email.

View 19 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with an HTC Desire. I have an emailaddress that does not require authentication for the outgoing mail. I've unchecked the "authentication required" tickbox and saved the settings.
Somehow the phone automatically resets the Authentication setting and there I can't send email.
My question: how can I prevent the Desire from automatically place a checkmark next to "Authentication Required"?
How is it done? I do not see any settings/info on gmail.com. I currently am using my cable ISP outgoing server which works when it wants.

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy Gmail account works great, and I have my aol and yahoo acounts set up no problem (well the yahoo was a little problem but got it to work so thats all that matters). I have 2 other email accounts that no matter what I do I can not get them to work. One is my works email which is handled by a company called network solutions. I can get the incoming server setup fine but I can not get the outgoing to work. The other is my school email which is some sort of msn email account variation (username@email.itt-tech.edu which i log into through msn.com). I cant get anything to work for this accuont.

It rings once at the receiver then cuts off so I was told.
I have plenty of signal and the person I'm calling can call me back after getting the one ring and wondering whats going on after the I've tried several times!
I've had the Sprint EVO for about a week now and love it, except for the fact that the email settings keep changing. I go in and change the notification settings to Notification Sound "On", and then, sometimes, a few hours later, when I notice that I haven't heard any emails come in, I'll check the settings and see that Notification Sound is now "Off." Same thing with download frequency and delete email on server.

However, after It brings in all my email, I am left with only being able to get them when I hit the button, "download up to 50 email" or something similar

- For incoming messages I have set it to POP3 / mail.xxx.xx - STARTTLS (accept all certificates) - Port 110
- And for outgoing messages I have set it to SMTP / smtp.mail.xxx.xxx - STARTTLS (accept all certificates) - Port 587
* I'm using the same settings as on my laptop, which work flawless under these settings.
From BB to Droid I see there is huge difference on emails. Last night I was working with K-9 email.
I have 3 emails: Gmail working OK. Yahoo working OK (using K-9) and there is work account. I can receive emails OK but cannot send any out. Because I cannot use work SMTP server I went and enter my smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com port 587 require sign in. There are lots of errors: from push error: null / relay access denied / imap server is not idle capable... Can I have same SMTP under two accounts?
How do I switch the settings from the free yahoo back to gmail and how do I get the mail screen back where you can swipe over and look at your mail back on it own screen just like the factory settings.

First I tried to send them individually via mms, no go. Then I tried to send them in via email, first together then individually, again no good. I kept getting a error message saying that my account setting is incorrect. What is the deal. I've been hyping my DROID to everyone saying that the IFAD is not as good, starting to wonder.
