I have contacts on my Gmail account.They have phone numbers, notes, etc.I can see all of this information in the contacts area of my Gmail account, but the only thing that shows up on the contacts area of my Hero is their name and email address.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with my Gmail app where I think no information is being 'sent' from the phone. I receive incoming mails, but no mails are sent. Though I delete incoming mails, the next notification which I receive when I get the next mail will show "17 mails" though I would have deleted the previous 16 emails. When I check email on my browser, all the emails what I had deleted are still there. I have tried a factory reset and I still have a problem.

Firstly, why when I have set up my Gmail contacts on my computer into 8 groups do only 4 groups appear on my phone after synching? Secondly, is there anyway that the Google contacts can be rearranged so that the surname comes first - this can be done for phone contacts but does not appear possible for Google contacts?

If I open the app and select Menu --> Refresh, the new messages pop in there. I did a soft reset and made sure Gmail was set to sync automatically.

Now she wants to change the master email address to her new gmail account. So far I got the "mail" app to transfer into the new account. However when we go to google talk it still shows her as signed in on her old account. Is there an easy fast way to change the master email address without having to do a factory reset? She doesn't care if she loses any apps if people are wondering.

Last time I looked he had over 50 entries. I deleted all but 1 and an hour later he's back another 25 times. I just put the 2.1 leak on my phone yesterday. Maybe that's the problem? Strange that it's only the 1 contact though.

When the address book was transfered over to my Hero, i received 3 to 4 different fields per person! If I match pictures to contacts on my phone will it sync with my web mail contacts, or will it work if I sync my google contacts on my web mail, then sync to my phone. View 21 Replies View RelatedPeople may have noticed the recent TLD change for UK gmail addresses previously googlemail.co.uk and now gmail.com. With this, it seems to have messed up my syncing and authentication for some reason. I changed over the other day and ever since I kept getting a message saying the authentication failed. I then added my gmail address as another account and set it to sync gmail (can't sync the calendar for some reason it's not an option). I have not received any push notifications of new mail and I have to manually refresh from within the mail app to get new e-mails. I don't want to remove the previous googlemail.co.uk as it says I have to restore my phone to factory settings (possibly losing messages etc.)

I've only been an Android/HTC Hero user for about a week now, and have a weird thing happening with my Hero. I've probably done something to cause this, but, I can't figure it out.
I have several contacts in my People list, and most of them have multiple phone numbers listed with them. When I choose People, and then say my sister, who has two mobile numbers, a work number and a home number, I get a small detailed card that pretty much fills the screen and allows me to choose a number to call mobile, call home, call work, then it says send message to each number, send email.
But, say when I choose my wife, I can only Call Other, Edit Contact, Delete Contact and Send Contact as vCard.
It didn't used to do this. It used to give me these choices for my wife too. My wife has a home number, a cell number, a truck number, I need to be able to text her cell, etc. Basically, I need the same options for her as I have for my sister.
I have the same issue with many of my contacts. I don't know what happened to cause this. Any help fixing this would be much appreciated. Hopefully, I won't have to do a master reset to do so!
So my profile pics aren't matching up to what my Facebook contacts have currently as their default pics. It was syncing them fine up until recently. Haven't don't anything different that I know of on my hero. My setting for sync are on for Facebook. I'm running 2.0d
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a student email account for Virginia tech and I can't get it set up properly on my phone. Is there certain settings I need to use to get it to work? I don't really know a whole lot about POP3 and IMAP etc. One thing I did notice is that when using Microsoft outlook at school everything works fine. But when I go home I can still receive messages but cant send them. I am thinking its because my IP address isn't one on campus and that messes up something with the servers?

I am able to view them with K9 and the regular email app. I am running Fresh 2.0b2 I dont mind using K9 or the regular email app but they arent as cosmetically fine tuned as the gmail app. You would think that an Android powered phone wouldnt have this issue.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just swapped my htc hero last night with another one that had the "with google" logo on the back thinking it would let me get Rev.A but it turns out it was manufactured 9/26/09 and it still says Rev.0. Anyways, the first htc hero I had would instantly notify my of new Gmail email, sometimes even before Gmail inbox on my PC would get it, so it was instantaneous, but this new one has like a minute or 2 delay. Is anyone getting this? what are your delays like? Did I just swap my phone for a defective one? Someone please comment.

When 2.1 finishes, obviously I will lose everything. Will my contacts automatically show up on my hero once I set up my gmail account on the phone or is there more that I need to do?
View 4 Replies View RelatedHere is the deal, back in Jan when I finally got all my contacts sorted and edit after some issues with sync, I tuned off the Auto sync, with the idea that I would force a sync when I wanted to and I could watch what was going on.I have about 350-375 contacts in my phone currently. I want to play with some 2.1 roms so I need to get these synced to gmail so I dont loose them again. i can not get it to sync. I get :I have tried setting auto sync and still have an issue.
Is there any way to enable the notification bar to display the email header (sender, subject, date/time) of the latest email received, as well as the number of new emails in the notification tray?
I am coming from a Pre, which had a very nice notification system. The new email notification would show the sender, subject, and number of new emails. You could then click to either go to the mailbox, or directly to the latest new email shown at your discretion.
I have set up both GMail through the GMail app, and an Exchange server through the Mail app, but the only notification I get is "New email" without specifics. Also, clicking won't bring me directly to the new email, but to the Inbox.
So I've never used Gmail before and I'm playing around with it. I've sent two emails and both have been sitting in my outbox for over 5 minutes. Is there normally this long of a delay in sending email with the Gmail app and is there a way to change it.
