My gmail Email is not syncing with my phone automatically and it's driving me nuts. I have the phone set on Wi-fi, and in Performance mode and the email still doesn't sync unless I do it manually. Should I be looking for another Email app?TBH i can't even find any options like what i had on 2.1 to where i could change the frequency of syncing options.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have searched and haven't been able to find any threads with one of my issues, so I apologize in advance if I missed one. Anyways, my DX has been working flawlessly since I got it back on 10/6. Sunday, 10/31, my DX quit syncing just my corporate Exchange 2003 emails, then yesterday it started not sending emails as well and now, this morning, it quit syncing my personal email. Corporate email will sync manually, just not push. I have rebooted several times, pulled the battery several times, and also deleted both my Exchange account and my personal account and re-added both and the problem still persists. I don't have any task killer apps installed and haven't recently added any apps since the issues started. Anyone have an idea what may be causing the lack of push (in and out) on both of my accounts?
View 18 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with my Gmail app where I think no information is being 'sent' from the phone. I receive incoming mails, but no mails are sent. Though I delete incoming mails, the next notification which I receive when I get the next mail will show "17 mails" though I would have deleted the previous 16 emails. When I check email on my browser, all the emails what I had deleted are still there. I have tried a factory reset and I still have a problem.

So far this has not happened. I have over a hundred contacts on my phone and when I go to gmail on my pc it does not have any of my contacts. Am I doing something wrong, or was I misinformed?

It started a couple of days ago, I since installed the Froyo 2.2 update and also downloaded the Gmail update in the Marketplace. I read through some forums online all stating to check the box for auto sync in account settings, however I don't have that option.

However, the gmail calendar and mail were not affected. I uninstalled all of the Companionlink stuff but the contacts still do not sync. Anyone know how I can get the contacts to sync via gmail again? Short of "reset user data on phone"?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI have come to the droid from treo/winmo/bb. On each of those platforms, they had a program that would sync contacts, calendar, todo, and memo from outlook. You plugged your phone in via usb, it would be detected, and voila, you would sync.I knew when I purchased the droid this couldn't be done natively. I have been able to get my calendar to sync with the google calendar sync app that so far runs fairly well. It syncs my outlook calendar to my gmail calendar.However, I want to sync my outlook contacts. Note, I did not say I want to IMPORT/EXPORT. I do know how to do that, and that is not syncing.
I want changes I make on my contacts on my phone to show up in outlook and viceversa. BTW, I am running pop, not exchange.It doesn't have to be direct connect, it can be through the cloud.The only thing I have found so far is soocial.com . I don't know how this works, and I am looking to see if anyone has found an acceptable solution to this issue so far. 'The missing sync' is supposed to release something at the end of the month to address this, but their solution is $40 and I don't know how well it will work as a 1st release.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWould it be possible to disable the syncing of "read" status between my phone and my gmail inbox? On my blackberry, when an email was pushed, I would read it, but it wouldn't be marked as read in my inbox itself. I liked that because then I would know I had to address the email when I was next at a computer. I don't always have time to send a reply from my phone right when I get an email, but I like being able to look at it on my phone without it getting marked as "read" everywhere.
Is my only option to add a gmail account via POP3 instead of IMAP? I tried that and didn't like it because then none of my gmail filters work, and messages that would normally just be archived end up getting forwarded via POP. I dealt with that on the BB by setting up filters on the BIS side, but I can't do that here if I just tell the droid to just fetch all the email via POP as it comes in. Is there any way to keep the filters in place but not have read status synced?
Just today I have three emails that just sit in the "outbox" in "sending" mode and do nothing. I also notice that I will read all of my emails and then the "unread" number still shows, i.e. 4 - and I will wait a while, and log onto gmail.com on my notebook and the ones that I just read are sitting in there unread or undeleted. What gives? I am mostly concerned with them sitting in the outbox. Its been running flawlessly and yes IMAP.

View 9 Replies View RelatedCurrently if I add/modify a contact in gmail it will sync without issue to my phone But if I happen to add a contact onto my phone or change something on my phone, that contact is not being synced to my gmail contacts (it stays on the phone, just doesn't go into gmail as well). Thoughts? I currently only sync 'My Contacts' from gmail to my phone not sure if this matters or not. I don't see an option to sync the other way as I did when using Google Sync on my blackberry.

I goto my gmail account, I have 193 names there, including his, but on my phone I only have 183!
However, when I dialed his number, his name popped up!
Where are these contacts, and why aren't they syncing? If I do a search for his name on my phone, it does not show up either. This is a critical issue!
I went to my gmail account and 'touched' his name, changed his address from road to rd. Forced a sync, but still it doesn't show on my phone. I have my phone set to show 'all other contacts' , which is the group on my gmail account.
I have a student email account for Virginia tech and I can't get it set up properly on my phone. Is there certain settings I need to use to get it to work? I don't really know a whole lot about POP3 and IMAP etc. One thing I did notice is that when using Microsoft outlook at school everything works fine. But when I go home I can still receive messages but cant send them. I am thinking its because my IP address isn't one on campus and that messes up something with the servers?

Data enabled is on
All my accounts are synced
Notification is on.
I did a reboot just to see and it still didnt fix. is there anyway to fix this?
