I have the Samsung Moment on Sprint and I gotta say I do love everything about it, but on thing is troubling me. When I go to: Settings>Accounts>Add Account>Facebook
It just takes me back to the "Add Account" screen. There's no option to even input my information to sync the account. Does anyone know what could be causing this problem?

Has anyone figured out the difference between syncing Facebook for HTC Sense in the account syncing section vs. plain Facebook? I am trying to figure out if the one I'm using (Facebok for HTC Sense) is using up too much memory.
My phone memory is around 33% whereas my husband's memory is 64%! He has very few contacts and I'm wondering if the syncing with Facebook is taking up all my phone memory (vs SD Card memory which is fine).
I removed my facebook account because I didn't wane all of my friends in my contacts, but a few of them are still in my contacts and I can't delete them!

So here is my question, under Menu>Settings>Social Network> Facebook appears there. I have that set to update every 12 hours.
HOWEVER, my actual Facebook App is set to update every 2 hours.
So... does the settings under Menu>Settings>Social Network>Facebook control my facebook app or just the bookmark that comes pre-installed on the phone?
I am trying to save battery life, and I noticed that the settings under Menu>Settings>Social Network>Facebook were set to update every hour, but I had the settings under the downloaded app to update every two hours. My goal is to have only one facebook medium updating so I don't drain battery life!
Using Eclipse 3.5.2, SDK Platform Android 2.2, API 8, revision 2 In Settings --> Accounts & Sync --> Add Account I do not have the option to add anything but an Exchange Account in the emulator. I should be able to add a gmail account. Am I being stupid or is there a problem with the emulator?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI would love some help with this if anyone can figure out what's going on. I have the FB for Android app installed. I am rooted with Bugless Beast. I was trying to add FB as a sync account through settings-->accounts & sync, but when I click add account-->FB, nothing happens. Then I logged out of the FB app, and my attempt to add a sync account would bring me to the login screen. I can log in, but the account doesn't show up in my list of sync accounts. And I'm back to nothing happening when I do add account-->FB. When I go to a contact, in the sync and gallery screens both say to log in to FB to link. In the sync screen, nothing happens when I tap. In the gallery screen, it pulls up a loading screen that stays up indefinitely. I uninstalled and reinstalled the FB app, and that made no difference. Right now, I'm syncing my pictures using SyncMyPix, but I would like full integration of my contacts and FB friends. I'd appreciate any help getting this to work.

View 8 Replies View RelatedMy Eris won't sync my Google, Facebook, or Twitter accounts. It last did so last Monday, 11/15. I have had emails, messages, tweets, etc. sent to me, but they never sync to my phone, I have to go online to get my Gmail (refreshing within the app does nothing), but refreshing manually from the Facebook and Twitter apps does work. Going into Settings > Accounts & Sync > Sync Now does nothing, and all of the settings here are correct.I've tried rebooting and pulling the battery, but it still does it. Haven't installed anything new recently, since my internal storage is full.

Now I have a crapton of Contacts.. many are just people I have emailed once in my life or some random friend of a friend from facebook. I really don't went them cluttering up my contacts list when I go to make a phone call.
I tried to unsync Contacts in both of these apps, but the contacts didn't go away. Is there some way to delete all of these?
one can have multiple twitter, email etc. accounts on Android (running 4.1.2 on a Galaxy Note), but only one Facebook account. However, I have two of them and I need *both* their contacts sync'd to the contacts database (one is my "private" profile for close friends, the other is for work colleagues etc). Also, the built-in Facebook authentication has the same problem as the contact sync - I don't want to run games like Real Racing under my "public" FB profile.
Any way to make two FB profiles on one device? Maybe with something like a "virtualization"?
It has synced all my friends birthdays into my calendar. I want to disable this, but to still have my contacts synced. Is there a way to do this?

All the SE online help, the phone manual, phone electronic manual, even my phone carrier, all say that i can link my phone to facebook in my Online Service Accounts....Strange thing is that I do not have facebook listed there.

Ironicly i'm interested only in facebook. I've been searching this "bug", if that's what it is, for a while now, and I have not found anywhere mensioning anything of facebook not beeing listed there. Maybe I've done a poor search, but now I'm curious to see if anybody on this SE forum might know why facebook might not be listed in the Online Service Accounts.

Facebook syncing to contacts was working great until tonight and it is driving me insane.I have two of the same facebook accounts synced.I'm sorry if this is confusing but basically, in Settings>>Accounts and sync: I have two facebook accounts synced but they are the same account.However, I do notice that the two icons are ever so slightly different.I am wondering if this is somehow syncing my facebook account through the app as well as through android.The reason why this is driving me nuts is because the accounts link to the contacts and for several contacts I have two facebook profiles synced, in addition to the phone contact, and gmail contact.This is really bugging the OCD-ness in me. Also when I search a contact to call or text for example, it might show one of their home numbers as "mobile" since it doesn't really know what type of number their facebook number(s) are.This problem started today when I shared my first picture through my phone onto facebook. I found it weird that it asked me to sign in again since I thought I had already done so through the app 'm sorry for such a long post, but I am wondering what I should do.Does this mean I should get rid of the facebook app?

I just added my Facebook account and my entire contact/phone list is now the same as my Facebook friends list. Is there a way to avoid this? I would like to keep my phone list separate.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my HTC Hero for a couple of months and finally think I've got to grips with the majority of its features. One of the things I really liked when I originally set it up was the fact that my contacts in People would sync up with anyone it recognised as having a facebook account and therefore provided their profile picture and birthday info etc. However, a couple of weeks ago all these pictures suddenly disappeared and I've no idea why - I can still get onto facebook fine and my contacts all seem as they were except they're all pictureless and it's really starting to annoy me. Has anyone else experienced this or is there any setting I'm missing or something I've done wrong??
On a completely unrelated note (although I may well post this seperately), I've recenly downloaded Handcent SMS from the market as I'd read that this was a good alternative to the original messaging application, but I don't know how to set this as my default SMS app and to get rid of the original off my home screen.
Ok so I just flashed JRummy's remix last night and since then I haven't been able to get my Facebook account to sync... I do the Settings>Accounts and sync>Add Account>Facebook and all it does is go back to the add account page... I had this problem before I used JRummy's so I don't think it is the ROM... (that time I just kept hitting facebook and it eventually worked).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had to get a new EVO because my charging port failed on my first one. When I got the new EVO, I entered my gmail account & all my contacts came back down to the phone. I have re-installed all my programs and Facebook is working. I CAN NOT get my facebook to sync up with my contacts. I go into people, select the link icon, click Link to Facebook and it does nothing. I also went into Menu-Settings-Accounts & Sync and clicked Sync All (my facebook and gmail address are in there)--it runs the sync and I still get nothing. I pulled the battery, I updated my PRL & profile but it won't work. I even uninstalled Facebook, reinstalled it and it still won't work. Does anyone here have any ideas on how I get my FB contacts to sync up with my contacts?

1)Go to your facebook profile on your computer browser
2)Got to Info, then Edit profile
3)Go to Education And Work
4)Under employer: I changed both position and city/town to include whatever city you are currently in. If you have multiple employers (past and present), change those too
5)Go to your Incredible, settings, accounts & sync, Facebook for HTC sense, sign in & it should work..
ok so my contacts WERE synced to my facebook and it gave me their number name birthday etc etc etc..
I wanted to update the contact image as i know a few have changed and to do this was told remove the account and then re add it after a short break and it will sync..
well i did that and it has now left me with "facebook friends (0)" which is complete balls... if i use the facebook phonebook folder on the home screen it shows everyone that was on my contacts..
when i hit people and online directory and menu refresh it does nothing.. and sometimes comes back with connection error.. or nothing at all.
i thought it was a problem with phone so i backed everything up and decided factory reset to see if this would fix (plus i needed to free all the crap apps off) still nothing.
is this a problem with sync today or something ? anyone else having similar problems?
in my account settings I have FB synced to include in my contacts. A few weeks ago though I looked in my contacts and just my original added contacts showed up, no FB contacts. I can't even sync my existing contacts to their FB account.
I think I read somewhere that there is some sort of dispute maybe with Google and FB but I could be completely wrong!
I have unroot the phone and get problem with friend stream and facebook. I have a problem with friend stream and facebook account. Everytime I try to setup the account it tells me that "the service is currently unavailable. Do you want to try again? If I say yes get same message. I have been into facebook account setting all platform applications where turned on so I turned it off and then back on and still the same.
Tried turning the phone off then back on same thing happens. Rooted the phone again and then restored from nandroid. Still the same, so installed the rom I had before and retried still same message. Unrooted the phone again and get same problem. Also tried removing the apps from facebook application settings. When I connect I get email saying it is connected, facebook then shows htc sense back application settings, and platform apps shows htc sense in there.
Does anyone else have this problem where you can sync your Facebook account to the Captivate, but when syncing with Facebook contacts it doesn't work? I've tried everything and I have had signal the entire time.

Does the standard alarm work (I used Alarmed & my regular alarm when I'm really tired and I stagger the alarms so that at least 1 will wake me up with stock alarm, i can't turn it off without shutting off the phone). Is Facebook contacts synced with contacts again, or is like the 1.5 Hero. Does it sync ALL your google contacts (2.1 Hero) or does it allow you to choose which group to sync (1.5 Hero). Those are my issues with the Hero since the upgrade, if these problems are not on the EVO, then to the EVO I go.
