HTC Droid Eris :: Advanced Email Settings ?
May 13, 2010How to bring up the Advanced settings tab for email? I found it on the Motorola Droid (which I now hate) but can't seem to find it on the Eris. I'm trying to leave the msgs on the server but download them to the phone. The iTouch, Saga, blackberry and Droid all had this page giving you this option.

May 23, 2010After the OTA I have discovered (to my frustration) that the email I have been deleting from my Eris is being permanently deleted from my Yahoo Plus account. I have searched here and all over trying to see if there is new settings or what but can't find anything to include the "don't delete from server" setting for the account.
With my other yahoo accounts (free) I didn't have the option to keep them on the server and accepted that as it was a struggle to get the free accounts up early on.
Keep the emails I delete from my phone on the server?
Motorola Droid :: K-9 Email Settings
Sep 25, 2010When I was setting up an additional account this morning it asked me how often do I want it to check for new mail. I chose every hour but I now want to change it to something else and I have searched the settings and cannot find that option anywhere. Does anyone know where I can find that option?

Jan 4, 2010I am a converted BB user. One of the features i cant seem to find that i liked on the BB is the select all/previous and mark as read function. I have tried pressing keys on the keyboard (if only there was a ctrl+A function) and looking under every menu i can find. Does anyone have any idea as to how i could do this?

Oct 24, 2010I'm not sure why, but ever since I set up my exchange email account on my motorola droid, it constantly prompts me to "Update Security Settings" in the notification bar and makes an obnoxious beeping sound. I can't turn this off and following the notification does nothing.

Jan 27, 2010When i get an email (gmail) and I attempt to download the rest of the message, it gives me an error and tells me that there's not enough space and instructs me to delete messages. After deleting almost all messages, i still get the same error.
Do the messages get stored on my card or device? SHould i delete my podcasts that rest on my card?
HTC Droid Eris :: People App And Mail Settings
Jan 30, 2010I have both a gmail and an exchange email account and have the contacts from both nicely synched in the people app. HOWEVER, if I select a particular contact from the list and toogle along the bottom to look at the "mail" option, it only shows emails from them that came in to my exchange account. It never shows emails from any of my contacts that originated from my gmail account. All the other options work great for text messages and updates etc, so I am not quite sure how to resolve this so that I can see gmail emails too.

Dec 9, 2009I have a Vista 64 bit laptop. Got a droid eris 2 weeks ago or so. First time I ever wanted to connect my computer and phone I tried a bunch of things but each time, phone kept saying it was mounting but then would never do it. But under settings/SD it knew it was mounted b/c of card size, etc., showing up and "Unmount" was selectable. Did lots of things, kept trying, eventually when I tried out the sync feature found out I didn't have HTC sync on my computer, which it said it needed, so I installed that and then tried to mount again and then it worked! I viewed my files, moved some pics around, etc.
Now I go to mount again and the same thing is wrong, won't connect at all. Tried mounting, unmounting, power cycling, using device manager on my laptop, even took out the card and put it back in, safely removing hardware, back and forth and on and on. Computer knows it's plugged in because it shows up as drive F but when you click on it once it is "mounted" (though I don't think it actually is mounted) - the computer says "please insert disk into drive f". I have USB 2.0 and I got it to work once, I don't understand what is wrong this time!

I would love to find a way to back up everything and just put all of those things in my new phone without having to do everything over. Dec 10, 2009I did a search and didn't find this specific problem mentioned so here it goes.
The Eris in question (isn't mine but I'm trying to help the owner out), has of course, horrible battery issues. So, first thing I wanted to do was see if there was a built-in power-manager app like on the Motorola Droid. There wasn't so I downloaded one of the many brightness toggle widgets.
The first widget, when clicked brought up a small menu to select brightness. While that menu was up the brightness would change as it should have but would immediately change back to what it was when that menu closed.
After that I looked in options, disabled auto-brightness, and installed a new widget. This one is a simple press to change brightness in increments. When I push the button the brightness changes momentarily and then resets to whatever the slider in the Settings is at. I've tried moving that slider and that setting is what it always defaults to.
Right now the only way to adjust the brightness is in the settings menu and nothing else will work even though auto-brightness is turned off. Is there any way around this? I'd really like to be able to get it so it can be easily adjusted without having to go through so many steps.
EDIT: Playing around with it further, I tapped the widget to go to 100% brightness and of course the screen dimmed back down to 0%. I then went to the settings menu and as soon as I entered the "Sound and Display" menu, the brightness jumped up to what I had set it at with the widget. After that I can hit the Home key or otherwise leave the menu and the brightness will be properly set... until the screen times out. If the screen times out and I wake it up, it's back to 0% brightness.

Jun 2, 2010Ever since 2.1 OTA I can't get my sync settings to stick.I want it to push items as they arrive. I check that box, but when I exit out, it goes back to manual. I've tried changing this in the email settings and in the main sync settings.This is driving me crazy- I keep missing my work emails!Also- I have never figured out how to get my vibrating notifications back after the OTA. If my ringer is on vibrate, the only notification I have that an item arrived is my LED.Finally- has anyone found the fix to the multiple notification email bug? I still get 3-4 notifications for one email when my ringer is on ring.

Feb 26, 2010I use HTC Sense on my phone, the problem I have is my phone is not saving my default home settings. When I push the home button it asks me which program I want to use to complete the action (either andriod Home or HTC Sense), I always click the box indicating I want to use this option as default every time I push home but 10 minutes later when I push the home button again it asks me again which program I want to use. I have double checked in my settings and it shows HTC Sense is set as my default home setting but something just isnt right.

She wanted to do this so she can see birthdays and have contacts connected with their fbook profiles. It would not let me log her in. It says that the service is currently unavailable. I can log her into the android facebook widget and the mobile site but not this. I started messing around with my Eris to see if I could figure out what is wrong. I logged myself out and now I am getting the same message. I have been using this setting since day one with no problems. My wife has the update and I do not yet. Has anyone else ran into this issue.
