I am writing this for my friend who has an EVO. He just replaced his Blackberry Tour with the EVO and wants to know how he can sync or transfer all of the blackberry stuff onto his new EVO. Stuff like music, calendar, photos, ringer, documents, etc. I already have him set up on google gmail so I am not sure if that make a difference. Any thoughts would be great. I have no experience with BB; I came from windows mobile.

I recently came over from using a Blackberry (and using the Blackberry Messenger app), and I am wondering what you all might suggest as an easy way to briefly send quick messages (not using SMS or email) that would be easy to set up on my end and for my Blackberry friends.Currently I do not have any chat systems or instant messaging systems set up (as never used any of that before), so I am hoping you can make your suggestions very simple to understand and set up. I'm somewhat new to all this technology, but I am anxious to learn.

I'm having some buyers' remorse (annoying interface, keyboard, crashes), and was hoping for suggestions on an alternative. I'm out of my Tmobile contract - so I can hop to another carrier. Can someone suggest a good blackberry-like phone running android? I tried the Motorola Charm, but found it underpowered. It was very simple, and I would keep info in it like a grocery lists and even passwords (for low-risk things such as forum passwords), etc. I'm sure there's something for Android that does the same thing, but has anyone else made the switch and found something similar?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy daughter has a Blackberry Storm, and has ordered an Incredible, which is due to arrive Monday Sept. 13th. Is the card formatted in a format that Android can read? Or will I need to mount the card in my computer and copy all of the photos and stuff she wants to save, let Android reformat the card, mount it in the computer and transfer the stuff back onto the card? I would appreciate the advice of someone with knowledge of BB use of the Micro SD card.

I did have google sync for my calender installed and working; but since I mainly work on office 2010 beta, gsync doesnt work. So, i hadent noticed the gsync wasnt syncing with my calender. That being said is there a known way to get the data over? Phone service is terminated so it has to be done tehtering to the PC somehow..I was able to get contacts no problems there as I had them in many locations, but would like the notes also.

I know the simplest way to do it would have been to Google Sync my contacts into my Gmail from my BB then sync them to the EVO, but unfortunately, I can't do that now. The SIM in my BB is out thanks to my number transfer so no data, and I didn't have Google Sync installed.
I have a little over 200 contacts in my BB, and as I'm sure you understand putting all of them in manually is near insanity. Anyone in the same boat as me? Any solutions to this or is a long night of manual contact switching in my future?
What is the easiest way to transfer contacts from an older blackberry to the incredible? I tried to get the back up assistance ap from verizon, but I guess it doesn't work for BB?
View 6 Replies View RelatedThis is confirmed by Verizon, so take warning.I got my Incredible on Tues, used my BB charger on my phone because the Verizon store said it was ok since it was still a micro usb. My battery started dying after about a few hours. Tried every trick in the book and still died afte about 3 hrs.Went to the Verizon store and got it replace. They once again said it was ok to use the blackberry charger. So i let the new battery run down as the guy said and began to charge w/ my blackberry car charger for about 30 min. I noticed the orange charger light was not on. I unplugged the charger and the phone will not even turn on now. Verizon is overnighting me another Incredible.Listen to others if you want or take your chances, but the tech guy at Verizons main tech support center said to use only Htc chargers. **SO USE YOUR BB CHARGERS ON YOUR INCREDIBLE AT YOUR OWN RISK**

But I really liked that my iPod/iPhone would sync perfectly with my podcasts. If I played 15 minutes of the Dave Ramsey show on my iPhone, and then connected it to my computer, then I could continue the show on my computer. Additionally, after I connected my iPhone to the computer, I knew which podcasts to delete as it would show them as "played".
Is there a way to accomplish this with the Android phone? I am willing to give up on iTunes to make this happen. I am still using a Mac though.
When I create contacts in Gmail, they automatically appear on my phone. Contacts I create on the phone do NOT appear on my pc in Gmail. Help is needed, thanks in advance.

The first time it was fixed with a restart but now that is not working.Even when I go to the sync page in settings and press 'sync all', nothing happens. I used to get the 'sync' circle spinning in the info bar at the top of the screen but it isn't even doing that.Have searched, but can't seem to find any info on this exact problem. Has anyone any ideas?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI usually always have background syncing on with no problem but lately the syncing arrows have been in my status bar constantly and its draining my battery in four hours.I don't think its an app but I deleted some anyways.Also it freezes my phone and Sense force closes all the time.For the time being I turned off background syncing..but you know, now its not really an android phone lol.

The rotating syncing circle just keeps rotating forever. I'm using Windows 7. What is wrong? I've turned off my virus and firewall software to try and fix the issue but it still won't sync both ways.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to upgrade the ROM on my phone but for the life of me I cannot get the PC to properly recognise it.I have a G2 Touch/HTC Hero running firmware version 1.5. I have carried out a factory reset on it and installed HTC Sync on my Windows Vista PC. Neither sync nor the upgrade process seem to be able to find the phone. I am however able to mount and unmount the SD card so there is definitely some connectivity. After I instaleld HTC sync it seemed to install drivers, including something called My HTC.When I connect the phone via the USB cable the HTC Sync icon appears in the top left ocrner, and I can drag down then click on it to start a sync, however it says it's unable to find HTC sync on my PC. I have uninstalled and re-installed HTC Sync on the PC to no avail. Snc on the PC shows itself to be 'disconnected'.

Have got pretty much everything going and have now switched my personal email from Yahoo to Googlemail.I moved my contacts from yahoo into gmail, all fine. I have also previously got my phone contacts to sync from the phone into gmail.Having got both lots of contacts into gmail i have sorted and merged them on my PC so they are all correct. However, i cannot get the contacts now to sync back from gmail to my phone?When i go to account settings for google and ask it to sync it syncs the calendar and the googlemail but not the contacts despite the refresh symbol appearing next to the contacts option.Basically, how do i get my phone to suck the contacts back out of google and on to the phone itself.I am using google contacts in the phone menu, not SIM or phone so it is nothing to do with that.

Every time I look down at the phone it is syncing. I've tried taking the battery out. I finally unchecked background data on the "Accounts and Sync". Is there another way to fix this?
