Is it possible to use the Vibrant with the T-Mobile unlimited Blackberry plan?
I use a blackberry during the week, and on weekends I'd like to swap to the Vibrant, but I can't change the blackberry plan to the Android plan since it is our business standard.
Anyone know if this can work?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am getting Samsung Vibrant to replace my wife's Behold II. She doesn't have a data plan but was able to use Wi-Fi to connect to internet with Behold II. I assume, that's the case with Vibrant too. Does any one know, is that's true? I am sure to get comments from few that what's the point of having smart phone without data plan but my wife doesn't need it and don't want it.

View 12 Replies View RelatedWas talking with the T-mobile tech support rep (after learning the Vibrant does not support UMA to use wifi calling at home) and she told me about the upcoming back to school sale where many phones are free, and even better, adding an extra line is FREE till 2012. Not an extra $5/mo., free. Quite a few decent phones are available, too. Very cool, thought I'd give you guys a heads up. I might even get a phone just to for a back-up.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a T-Mobile Galaxy Vibrant that was running Android 2.1. I rooted the phone (successfully), and installed Slim Bean 4.2.2 plus Google apps. Everything was going smoothly and I was reinstalling apps and data when I noticed that I had no network phone connection. Slim Beam did not seem to recognize the sim, and I came up empty searching for networks. I removed the sim and put it in another phone, and everything was fine.
I decided to restore the previous android 2.1 (which I had backed up) using ClockWorkMod Recovery. I did restore, then reboot. Now the only thing I get is the initial screen ... Vibrant and Samsung in bold white letters. I have tried repeatedly to launch CWM Recovery, without success.
So after getting frustrated with the lag on my new blackberry torch, I've decided that I might get the captivate. The one thing holding me back is the messaging features (e-mail/texting). How do they compare to the blackberry? Also, does the captivate suffer from the same legginess issues with simple menu functions/app changes?

2. Goto File
3. Import and Export
4. Select "Export to a file" and Click Next

Alright, so I recently purchased the droid and I am looking to put in on Boost CDMA for their unlimited plan.I can pull the PRL off of a boost phone that I am using right now (I think) and have an esn of an old boost phone can I can use for a switch so it is recognized in the database. I own both phones so I don't see any issue with this. My question is; is rooting the phone necessary for this to work. I would think so, but I am not sure. I have seen people flash the droid over to cricket, virgin, page plus, metro pcs, so why not boost mobile? I am just looking for some feedback from people more knowledgeable than me. This is my first android phone, so I am quite ignorant in all things android. I flashed an HTC TP2 over to boost, so I am hoping I can do the same with the droid.

1. I plan on going South Africa. According to this site, both the phone and 3g should work perfectly right? GSM World Coverage Map- GSM Country List by frequency bands
2. I have seen an app to unlock the Vibrant. It is by DaGentooBoy from XDA. Its called Samsung Galxy S Unlock. Would it be better for me to use this app or to just request T-Mobile to give me the unlock code. Are there any pros or cons for using either method.
3. If the OTA update or Froyo don't come out before I am gone, will I be able to get an OTA over wifi while I am in South Africa. Just to clarify, I will be using a local sim over there. I will discontinue from tmobile when I leave the US I know nothing of rooting. This is my first smartphone, so if possible I would be hesitant of doing any updates via the computer that requires me to loose all my info. I have too many apps and saved games and settings to download again so its just a scary thought of loosing it all.
4. Will google navigation work overseas. I have heard people say yes and no. I am hesitant to buy apps like co-pilot as they cost a lot and have mixed reviews, so I wanted to find out about this.
