View 1 RepliesAll of my Gmail contacts are not syncing to my phone. I have tried to manually sync over and over and it is not working. I am looking at my Gmail contacts online and comparing to my phone and there are at least 3 with phone numbers missing from my phone.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have yet to see one on syncing PHONE CONTACTS to GMAIL.I have ABC contacts on my phone, but for some reason there are no contacts in my gmail (even though they were all perfectly synced before-- weird, right?)So I want to get all my PHONE contacts BACK to GMAIL.If I syncupdate from my phone, will it get rid of all of my phone contacts because Gmail has 0 contacts? Or will it put all of my phone contacts into Gmail and all will be zen?
View 9 Replies View RelatedRight this might be a completely fucktard question but i'm going to ask it anyway coz i don't want to lose information that will take me ages to gather again. When i was first putting contacts into my phone a month ago (how time flies) i kept losing the information i had put in because my gmail account was empty and when it was syncing with the phone it wiped what i had added to the phone.I disabled the contact syncing and carried on filling my people section up on my phone. Now, how do i get the contacts on my phone into my gmail account on the pc?I don't want to just enable syncing again incase it wipes all the contacts i've put into the phone!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI currently have phone pulling down all my Google contacts that generally consist of name smile and number. The incredible also links these contacts with my Facebook and so adds info to these contacts such as additional numbers, birthdays etc etc. What I want is this additional contact info now on my phone to uploaded to Google. For example I have a Google calendar with peoples birthdays on it and I would like it to have all my contacts birthdays from favebook.I would have imagined this should happen automatically but alas it is not so.
View 8 Replies View RelatedFor some reason contacts from my phone are not syncing to my Google Contacts and vice versa. I am sure it is a setting I do not have checked.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've got a Galaxy S and am really pleased with the phone generally except the contact management is really frustrating. In particular I can't seem to sync my Google contacts groups. The contacts themselves sync ok but they are all grouped under Google in the groups dialogue. There doesn't seem to be any way for me to add them to groups I create on the device or to get the groups that are in my Google contacts to display. Annoyingly if I try to create a group on the device with the same name as a group in my Google contacts it tells me that a group of that name already exists even though it won't display that group on the phone.
View 24 Replies View Relatedbought Droid Monday night and the guy at store was able to transfer my contacts from my Palm 700p.However, the contacts are not showing up on Google. If I make new ones on either phone or website, they sync. What the heck?I saw a thread that says it can take a couple of days, which makes no sense, but it's been a couple of days.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI cannot remember where you can change the setting so your phone will not sync with your entire gmail contact list.
View 21 Replies View RelatedI have searched but I wanted to ask specific to DX to make sure I wasn't missing something simple. Google Contact Groups don't appear in my contacts on the DX regardless of sync. One of the group names I created did transfer over and Organization name.
I cannot sort the contracts by group on my phone. I either have all or none. Did I do something wrong (most likely yes, this was much easier in the BB world)? Am I missing a step, this appears to be a problem on all Android OS. So do I need an app to fix this?
Is there a way to selectively sync Facebook contacts to my phone? I have roughly 1000 Facebook "friends" but only 300 are really friends and family and the rest are mainly gaming friends for games like Mafia Wars, etc. and I don't want to sync those. I want the Facebook contacts who I personally know to show up when I use the contacts icon on the home screen. I would like to sync them but I'm afraid it will import the list and I would have to manually delete them.
View 1 Replies View Relatedcurrently I still have got Sony Xperia X8. I know it's a little bit old but still I want to keep it for few months. Now I'm thinking about rooting it and upgrading it to Android 2.2 or 2.3. All the stuff is stored in the phone's memory. I'd like to synchronize my contacts and calendar events to Google - tried few tricks but still without any result.
It looks like it's not possible to sync contacts which weren't stored as Google Contacts. I need to do the same with my calendar events.
I would really like to keep my data stored in the phone's memory as well as on Google. So I'm looking for sync option. If this is not possible then I'll need to get used to store everything just on Google but first I need to import my data there as well.
How do you sync your data or what solution do you use and why?
I have an Galaxy III phone and 10" notepad but can't get the contacts and calendar to sync between the two
My phone is the one which is up to date but I really prefer using the bigger notepad screen but can't get the notepad current?
Currently if I add/modify a contact in gmail it will sync without issue to my phone But if I happen to add a contact onto my phone or change something on my phone, that contact is not being synced to my gmail contacts (it stays on the phone, just doesn't go into gmail as well). Thoughts? I currently only sync 'My Contacts' from gmail to my phone not sure if this matters or not. I don't see an option to sync the other way as I did when using Google Sync on my blackberry.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI seem to be having a sync issue with my Droid. When I add a contact to my phone, it doesn't sync into "My contacts" in Gmail; it'll sync into "All contacts". So, a couple of questions:
1) How can I get the phone to add new contacts created on my Droid into "My contacts" in Gmail?
2) I'm trying to understand the point of "All contacts". Why does Gmail want to keep a list of anyone that I've ever sent an email to? Otherwise, it'll be simple enough to just merge the two groups and call it a day.(Note: When I bought my Droid I did NOT have the VZW sales person transfer my contacts or any data from my old Blackberry to my Droid. I used Google Sync on my BB and synced my contacts from my BB to Gmail, then when I got the Droid, it automatically pulled my contacts from Gmail.)(FWIW, yes, I did a search and found two great threads: http://androidforums.com/support-troubleshooting/15042-how-do-i-push-droid-contacts-back-gmails-my-contacts.html and http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid/15069-contacts-dont-really-synchronize.html but I have a different situation than most of those guys and I'd actually prefer to sift through and merge a couple of contacts from "All contacts" to "My contacts" every once in a while than deal with a backup and factory reset.)
i use google contacts to sync my personal numbers to my phone but for some reason everytime i email someone from somewhere like craigslist that anonymous address is saved to my contacts? wtf? how do i stop this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy wife's phone - which is a ZTE Blade running 2.2 - is losing it's favorites in the contacts manager each time it syncs to Google Contacts.
I looked up her Google Contacts [URL] and there is no "Starred in Android" group, as it should be. I think it should be automatically created when she fovorites a contac in her phone. But instead, it deletes the starring of the contacts in the phone each time it syncs.
I cleaned up my contact list, rearranged and merged a few etc etc but now those changes are not trickling down to my phone over wifi or 3g. It has been a week and still no luck. Even if I manually sync, I still do not see the changes...
View 2 Replies View RelatedHas an Evo, when he got it I guess he put his contacts on it manually before ever adding gmail account. Now those contacts are designated as "phone" contacts. How can we make them sync to his gmail?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs it best to store your contacts on your sim card, your phone or via Google?
Also, how easy will it be to sync or copy my phone contacts to my PC? Just as a back up more than anything -to make things easier when I get a new phone.
I'm not too bothered about calendars etc, as the missus does that for me! I don't think I've ever used a calendar on a mobile phone or computer in my life!
My primary e-mail address is a hotmail address. Is it possible to have this on the Desire? My understanding is that it's possible, but not for "push" e-mail? Eg. I'd have to check it manually in the mail app?
I do have a Google e-mail address for the Market etc
Is anyone out there having trouble with their contacts not syncing correctly? I'm testing this out right now and have had some issues. When I make a change in my Google "My Contacts" folder or on the phone it fails to update the other. It is set to actively sync in my settings and I have manually synced to no avail.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got the HTC Desire and I like it a lot - except for one thing: It is really awful at handling contacts. I have 250 friends on Facebook and 200 contacts in my gmail contacts and some on my SIM card as well. When I want to send an SMS I really only need access to those on my SIM card, but I get all the information from both gmail, SIM card and Facebook. Some people have 5 entries: One from SIM card, one cell number from Facebook, one home number from Facebook, one email from Facebook and one email from gmail. It is really cluttering up my list and makes it very confusing to send an SMS. Strange thing is: When I enter my "people" list I have set it up so it only shows people on my SIM card.
How can I make "Search People" only show the information from my SIM card? Of course I could just delete my Facebook account from "Accounts and Sync", but that still leaves the gmail information.
I just got my evo and downloaded froyo pretty much right away. I want to do a factory reset, but that will cause me to lose everything, including my contacts, right? I tried syncing my contacts to my gmail account but they are not showing up when I log in to gmail on my computer. Is there something special I need to do when I log in to gmail to get my contacts? Or is it as simple as just clicking on contacts once you sync them from your Evo?
View 3 Replies View RelatedFirst night I got my evo, my first android phone, I was just going over the settings, seeing what control I had in the OS etc. I went into running applications and clicked on gmail and forced it to stop ("until you start it again" from what it said). Since then I have not been able to get push gmail to my evo. I've cleared the data and cache from manage applications to both gmail storage (or something) and gmail. How to get true push email again!
2nd question: I transferred my IPhone contacts into a .csv that I uploaded on my gmail contacts. I synced them from my gmail to my evo. But everytime I go into phone, it only shows me 3-4 contacts compared to the 300+ I synced from my gmail. How can I transfer them from my gmail account, onto my phone?
I want to sync a lot of my contacts that are either on gmail or facebook. The problem I have is that I only want about 10pct of the facebook list and only about 1% of the google contact list. And google has best email while facebook has picture and date of birth. Is there something that will allow me to combine these? how did you go about forming the best contact list?
View 4 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden, in my notifications area, there is something that is almost always "synchronizing my contacts". This just all of a sudden appeared. I didn't download any app for this, and my contacts don't even appear in gmail.Anyone know what is doing this? I'm always worried about what apps send all my info out. Something seems fishy. The icon that appears on the top left is gray and spins.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Captivate, but I think this issue is only dealing with the Android Operating System and Gmail. I have a Gmail Account, Facebook Account, and a University Email Account that I pull my contacts from. All three of them are synced with my phone. The University Email uses Gmail and Google apps. I am trying to figure out a way to sync all my contacts in one place, preferably my normal Gmail account. I understand that you can't auto-sync Facebook contacts to Gmail, but I would like to sync the contacts that I've added to the phone to my Gmail Account.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just got my new phone and linked my AOL email accounts to the phone...no matter what i do and no matter how much i delete the email that it picks up it still reappears in the email box over and over again...
yes i do get my new emails..but after i try to clear it all out it just pops back up again and again...i even went online and cleared everything out...still does it...
So I have a couple hundred or so contacts on my phone and NONE in gmail...on the sync process it synced over my folders and categories, but not my actual contacts...GMAIL contacts sync is turned on.
View 10 Replies View RelatedIs anyone having issues with googlemail contacts not syncing onto their milestone? I've tried the sync option, but the date/time stamp stays the same. According to my phone it synced last on 20/12 even though I have just tried now. If I then create the contact on my phone it will double it up when it does sync!
