I'm wanting to get a Droid Incredible when they are released. I'm new to the whole Android phenom. Currently, I have a Mac Book Pro and use Microsoft Entourage as my email, calender, contact software. I currently have a Motorola Q9c phone and use Missing Sync program to get my phone to sync.I would like to be able to load music from Itunes, my contacts and calender from Entourage. Will I need a new program to do this?

I love my new Android phone, and I am able to sync my songs/podcasts just fine using Easy Phone Tunes.
But I really liked that my iPod/iPhone would sync perfectly with my podcasts. If I played 15 minutes of the Dave Ramsey show on my iPhone, and then connected it to my computer, then I could continue the show on my computer. Additionally, after I connected my iPhone to the computer, I knew which podcasts to delete as it would show them as "played".
Is there a way to accomplish this with the Android phone? I am willing to give up on iTunes to make this happen. I am still using a Mac though.
How do I sync an event that I add on my phone to show up on my computer and vise versa? I want to be able to have the event show up on both devices even if I only add it to one.

I'm using Windows 7. What is wrong? I've turned off my virus and firewall software to try and fix the issue but it still won't sync both ways.

I use google maps quite a bit on my iphone and over the past couple years I have accumulated a lot of bookmarked locations that I have saved on my phone. My question is, is there a way to sync all the locations I have saved on my iphone to my new phone? Or am I going to have to add all the bookmarked locations manually?

View 9 Replies View RelatedIn iTunes (I switched from Tmobile iPhone to Android Slide), when you desktop sync, if you delete an email on the phone, it deletes in the Outlook application (once sync'd).I understand why this does not work with Google Sync (well not really.why would they not do the same thing the iPhone does with deleted emails.I guess they tag/keep track of deletions, then compare to the PC).I delete many emails via my phone. With the current setup, I then have to go and remember what was deleted, then do it again on my PC (Windows). TMO customer service has no idea their answer is you have to delete them twice (and basically remember what you deleted).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having problems that when I manually or automatically sync my Gmail/Google calendar from my phone or - items and/or reminders are disappearing.
For instance, I am viewing my Gmail calendar and US Holidays Calendar in the Calendars view - I turned off/unchecked "My Calendar" and "PC Sync" calendar. I can add a reminder or two to father's day - which is June 20th and when I go back or press home I see it has saved the reminder and added a picture of a bell to the entry in my Agenda view. The reminder is there when I double check it.
But when I manually sync the calendar up with Google/Gmail sync in Accounts & sync OR let the Calendar automatically sync the alert will be taken off father's day.
I have had this problem with Events too... I will add a new event, it shows up and saves but I noticed it has disappeared from the Calendar after the sync has taken place.
Anyone else experiencing this? I looked at my Gmail/Calendar settings on the phone and Gmail online and can't find anything.

Does Android prefer a specific phone number formatting when syncing?
For example when entering in a contacts info in gmail should I be using dashes (1-666-555-7777) or just putting in 16665557777
I am writing this for my friend who has an EVO. He just replaced his Blackberry Tour with the EVO and wants to know how he can sync or transfer all of the blackberry stuff onto his new EVO. Stuff like music, calendar, photos, ringer, documents, etc. I already have him set up on google gmail so I am not sure if that make a difference. Any thoughts would be great. I have no experience with BB; I came from windows mobile.

The first time it was fixed with a restart but now that is not working.Even when I go to the sync page in settings and press 'sync all', nothing happens. I used to get the 'sync' circle spinning in the info bar at the top of the screen but it isn't even doing that.Have searched, but can't seem to find any info on this exact problem. Has anyone any ideas?

The rotating syncing circle just keeps rotating forever. View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to upgrade the ROM on my phone but for the life of me I cannot get the PC to properly recognise it.I have a G2 Touch/HTC Hero running firmware version 1.5. I have carried out a factory reset on it and installed HTC Sync on my Windows Vista PC. Neither sync nor the upgrade process seem to be able to find the phone. I am however able to mount and unmount the SD card so there is definitely some connectivity. After I instaleld HTC sync it seemed to install drivers, including something called My HTC.When I connect the phone via the USB cable the HTC Sync icon appears in the top left ocrner, and I can drag down then click on it to start a sync, however it says it's unable to find HTC sync on my PC. I have uninstalled and re-installed HTC Sync on the PC to no avail. Snc on the PC shows itself to be 'disconnected'.

Have got pretty much everything going and have now switched my personal email from Yahoo to Googlemail.I moved my contacts from yahoo into gmail, all fine. I have also previously got my phone contacts to sync from the phone into gmail.Having got both lots of contacts into gmail i have sorted and merged them on my PC so they are all correct. However, i cannot get the contacts now to sync back from gmail to my phone?When i go to account settings for google and ask it to sync it syncs the calendar and the googlemail but not the contacts despite the refresh symbol appearing next to the contacts option.Basically, how do i get my phone to suck the contacts back out of google and on to the phone itself.I am using google contacts in the phone menu, not SIM or phone so it is nothing to do with that.

Every time I look down at the phone it is syncing. I've tried taking the battery out. I finally unchecked background data on the "Accounts and Sync". Is there another way to fix this?

I'm guessing it has something to do with the screen with the sort of blank white canvas with two tabs underneath it - a pencil & 3 horizontal lines?! When you press on it it brings up the screen 'Choose a mail provider' with two options of 'Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync & Other (POP3/IMAP). Both options have thwarted my attempts and to be honest I've no real idea what I am doing. I've synced the phone with my outlook CALENDAR at work, but not the emails - again no idea how to do that! View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm having a bit of trouble figuring out what information is stored how between google and my phone, particulalry with respect to my (postal) addresses. I noticed that if I add an address to a contact it shows up fine on my phone, but not in my gmail account (even after waiting several hours and manually syncing the phone). However, if I add an address in my gmail account it shows up in both gmail and my contacts on my phone. Furthermore, when I use google maps on my phone and hit "directions" I can start entering the name of my contact and it will pop up in the list for me to choose if I had entered it via gmail or the phone. But if I instead hit the little bookmark icon next to the box for the address and hit the contacts options, it gives me a list of contacts that have addresses, but only contacts for whom those addresses had been entered on my phone.I should also note that all my contacts are stored as google contacts and not phone contacts. But it does seem as if addresses are somehow being stored as phone only when I add them via the phone, and that this is somewhat intentional since choosing contacts in google maps lists only those phone-entered contacts. Does anyone understand what's going on here?

I'm not sure what seems to be happening here, but does anyone know how to fix it? The calendar syncs perfectly to my phone when I put new entries in there but not when I enter into my phone. Now, how do i get the contacts on my phone into my gmail account on the pc?I don't want to just enable syncing again incase it wipes all the contacts i've put into the phone!

Here's my issue;
Basically when i sync playlists from my PC to my phone, it saves the playlists on my phone as .PLA format.
Now the only player that actually reads those playlists is my stock player.
I have tried several android players, but non of them will recognize the playlists.
On my PC for syncing i have tried
-WMP
-Winamp
-MediaMonkey
-DoubleTwist
All of these create playlists in PLA format on my device when transferring them, which wouldnt be a problem if i wanted to use the stock player.
As for android apps/media players i have tried:
-Cubed
-Winamp
-Mort Player
-Media PlayerPro
-Mixzing
-Astro Player
When i create a playlist using any of the apps on my phone, every other app is capable of reading them.
However, the playlist file can not be found on my phone, or my SD card. so i have no clue what format they are saved to, or where they are saved too.
I'm basically looking for a way to transfer my playlists from my computer to my android phone, and have the other apps actually read the playlists. The phone im using is the Samsung Galaxy S.
Not too sure whats going on here. just got the Evo and ditched the iPhone. pretty happy so far, of course. i have a friend online who gives me pointers and we are stumped. i have my gmail account setup and working properly. but my Bookmarks are not syncing up. IE: there is a flikr shortcut there and i don't use Flikr. Cnn, Yahoo, Etc all show up and i dont use them. I have google chrome, the newest version and chose to sync bookmarks. but why isnt it going onto the Evo?
