View 1 RepliesMy phone has been trying to send an email from gmail for 2 days. it keeps saying unable to send and I don't know how to stop it. If I click on it, it takes me to the edit email account screen. When I go through the steps it says authentication failed even though my gmail account is fine. I don't know how to fix this. Also when I go to all programs I have 2 internet, 2 maps, and 2 navigator icons that weren't there before and won't delete.
View 11 Replies View Relatedjust noticed that when i read my gmail from the phone, it doesn't mark it off as read when i check on the computer. also when i try to reply or send an email, it is just stuck there with a red "sending". anyone have any idea what is going on?

Is it possible in Android to programmatically send an email using the phone's associated GMail credentials? I can send an email when I explicitly provide the username and password, but I was hoping to leverage the Google account already associated with the phone. Note that I don't need to actually access the username or password; I just want to leverage this information indirectly to send email.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently received my new HTC Incredible and connected to my exchange account. Everything thing seemed fine until people told me they had not received my emails. I checked and the emails were in my sent folder and appeared to have been sent. Looking into this further I was able to narrow the problem down to only NEW emails to an outside email address are not received. Any email that I reply to and any new email to someone on the same exchange server are received fine. Just new emails to an out side address are never received but are happily sitting in the sent folder.I deleted the exchange account from the phone and set it up again and had the same results. Pulled the battery, etc. I then setup my account on an HTC Hero and got the exact same results. As a side note the same setup on an iphone works fine.Searching around I think I may have narrowed the problem down to a pin issue between the HTC mail client and the Exchange Server but am not sure. Has anyone else had this issue?
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is my first forum. The first thing i would like to find out how to do is how to send some of my paid applications to my friends or family etc. through email (Gmail). A couple of weeks ago my friend sent me an IM he had paid for but he refuses to tell me how to do it. This was something i had no idea you can do but i guess i was wrong.
My issue is that I am unable to send mail using an email account on my web domain - I get a generic message that states something similar to the email is unable to be sent. I was previously able to email on my old Blackberry using the same account, so I would think it'd be possible on the Droid X. I have tried all ports I saw suggested in the forums on my web host's site but none of the three I tried work for me. I am able to receive mail without any problems and my web host confirmed the below settings should be correct. I know for certain that the user name requires the full email address, rather than just the user name portion. Please see below and let me know what I need to change to get this working. Thanks in advance for your help.
SMTP server: mail.redszone.com
Port: 25
Username: (myemaillogin)@redszone.com
Password: (my email password)
Use secure connection: unchecked
Verify certificate: unchecked
When I click a picture and use the send option to send it to someone via email, it doesn't work. The other side does not receive the email. My husband has HTC Evo and it works fine for him. Is there any setting that I need to change?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have not been able to send any email after rooting my inc. Have checked my settings. All seem to be correct.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've had my Evo working well with two POP3 accounts. Twice in the past few days I have not been able to send email from the POP accounts, but I can receive email. The first time it happened I cleared the cache on HTC mail program and everything worked again, however that didn't work this time. I have no problem sending email through an active sync account.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAlright so today for some reason when I replied to, I would get an error message saying that It was unable to send. So I had to delete my email address and re install it. Now it doesn't update once I receive the emails or make a sound.. I have it so it supposed to but still does not. Anyone know what to do about this and how to make send/receive as soon as it comes not every 5 mins?
View 4 Replies View RelatedBeen sending emails from my Tiscali account via smtp.orange.net for months now, but suddenly it stopped working the other day. Now just says 'Unable to send mail' whenever I try.
I didn't touch the phone settings in between the last successful send and the first failed attempt, anyone got any ideas? Have tried the usual, like deleting/recreating the account, plus using different SMTP servers (orangehome.co.uk, 192. etc.) but all to no avail.
We were talking about this the other day and it has happen to me a few times today and has pissed me off so I got on with moto chat. they want to replace the phone for this. Not sure that I want to go this route as I just don't think thats the issue.Denise C: Hi, my name is Denise C. How may I help you? Nicholas : hey about twice a day my droid will refuse to send email/sms/mms unless I restart it, once restarted it kicks the messages right out Nicholas : I've even tried disconnecting/reconnecting to the wireless enter and exit airplane mode, only thing that will get it working again is to restart it Denise C: I am sorry to hear that. I will be more than glad to assist you. Nicholas : I'm inside my 30 days but didn't know if I should contact you guys or verizon Denise C: Have you tried taking the battery out and put it back in to check if it was doing the same thing after that? Nicholas : tried that yesterday Nicholas : same effect as restarting, works for a few hours then I run into the issue again.
View 7 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, whenever I send out an email to someone that's not in my contact list, it appears as a new contact under the people app, with the email address listed. I don't want it to automatically add these emails to my contacts. Is there a way I can stop this, besides un-syncing my Gmail account?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am using the HTC mail app, to get emails from a Gmail account, which gets messages from a POP3 account. In Gmail online, I can send all messages as being sent from the Pop3 account. I cannot figure out how to do this with the HTC mail account, which makes it pretty useless. Anyone else using HTC mail and receiving and sending from different accounts? I've tried changing the outgoing server stuff, but I keep getting failed message sent errors.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI installed Petes Bugless rom and It was a little too buggy for me so I went back to my nandroid backup. Everything is fine except for my Gmail will not send an email. It will receive just fine but will not send. It just says sending... I have tried to send myself emails to my other accounts and receive nothing. I can send email with my .Mac email on my Droid though. I tried to delete my account and re-install and it won't let me because its my main one. It says I have to wipe my data first and I really don't want to do that.

I can't send any emails at all, they just sit in the outbox saying "sending". If I long press on any of them, I get an error:
The application Google Mail (process com.google.android.gm) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
I can recieve emails with no problems. I've cleared the cache and data for Gmail, I've rebooted the phone countless times, restarted the gmail process etc etc
For the past 2-3 days I haven't gotten any notifications from my phone saying I have new emails. So I signed into gmail from my computer and I did have a couple messages.I went into "My Accounts" and clicked sync now and they started to come in.I don't know what happened or what I did, but is there any way I can get it to sync by itself like it did before without my having to go to "my accounts" and click on sync now.Now for the sending problem. My sister sent me an email, and I was trying to send a reply back from my droidx and all it does is get stuck on "Send." and it never sends out.I tried to reply to another person and the same thing happened.I don't know what to do.I just got all my customizations the way I like so I will try anything before a factory reset.
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust got my Eris. So far it really kicks a$$. But I do miss Windows Live since I'm a hotmail user (no switch to gmail comments please). My desktop gmail through the web is set up to "Send As" my hotmail account, but if I send a new email via my phone, it sends it from my gmail username.I did a search and it was inconclusive. Does anyone know of a configuration to send new mail with the phones native email as a "Send As?"If not, does K-9 only poll gmail or is it a live sync?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI want to send an e-mail, and so I use the typical intent --
CODE:...........................
When I do this, the chooser comes up and gives all kinds of choices, for anything that can handle text/plain i assume, because there's stuff in there that doesn't support "e-mail". How can I make it so that it will only show applications that support email (gmail, mail, yahoo mail, etc...) and not stuff like "Bluetooth", "Facebook", etc...
Can I send an email without invoking any activity (with Send/SendTo action)? Just compose a mail and send to recipient from my application.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've got a Sprint Hero and when I try to send a 1MB photo, it basically freezes up my Gmail on my smartphone. Is that normal? I've tried to do it a few times, but it just says "sending" for longer than 10 minutes. It even sort of crashes my phone by hogging all the data and not letting me surf the internet or sync with Remember the Milk and other data reliant apps.I hate this Sprint Hero, by the way (unrooted, running OS 2.1). It's a genuine POS.It's so laggy (takes literally 10 F'n seconds to call someone after I dial the number).I've honestly almost smashed it on the ground twice it's so laggy. When I'm in a hurry, I can't stand it's lagginess. It's amazing to me this phone was released to the public with such an egregious lag time on almost everything I do (most noticeably the phone, which is simple compared to other apps).

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have searched and haven't been able to find any threads with one of my issues, so I apologize in advance if I missed one. Anyways, my DX has been working flawlessly since I got it back on 10/6. Sunday, 10/31, my DX quit syncing just my corporate Exchange 2003 emails, then yesterday it started not sending emails as well and now, this morning, it quit syncing my personal email. Corporate email will sync manually, just not push. I have rebooted several times, pulled the battery several times, and also deleted both my Exchange account and my personal account and re-added both and the problem still persists. I don't have any task killer apps installed and haven't recently added any apps since the issues started. Anyone have an idea what may be causing the lack of push (in and out) on both of my accounts?
