I just went through the manual online. Didn't see a darn thing about how to clean my Eris. What's safe to use on the screen?Of course family came over and wanted to man-handle our new phones. The screens are covered in goo now. How the heck do I clean this thing?

How do you get an Eris out of safe mode? My wife left her phone outside and it got a little wet. I dried it off and pulled the battery to make sure it didn't get wet. Put it all back together and rebooted. Now the phone is stuck in safe mode. No downloaded apps are showing, Lookout will not open in App Manager, Pandora won't work, and I'm sure I'm missing some more.

Now after the OTA on 2.1 my battery life seems to have gone down drastically and I heard that this widget could be the culprit. So, which battery widget are you using with 2.1 that is "safe" on overall battery life?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had my Eris sense November, loaded and uninstalled way too many apps, performed hard resets, loaded the 2.1 leak the night it was "found", and even done a couple hard resets sinse then. Had a new one pop up tonight, playing aroung I installed LockBot free. playing with it and Home, the phone got laggy. So, first thing I do is reboot. the phone restarts, but now it has a translucient box in the lower left corner and says "Safe Mode" and none of my Non-Android (ie Sense, Handcent, Pandore,...) widgets are showing up on the screen, let alone working, they just have little boxes that say "Problem Loading Gadget". Rebooted again, "Safe Mode" is gone, but widgets stil not working.....

View 3 Replies View RelatedI connect to wifi at home. however, when the phone goes into screen safe mode, the wifi icon is not there. only after i swipe the phone to get back to the menu, then i see the wifi icon.
does it mean wifi is disabled when the phone is in screen safe mode? it appears i do not always get notification for new text when the mode is in screen safe mode. it's sporadic.
This morning my alarm started unexpectedly at 6am. The lock screen turned into the snooze/stop screen. Dragging down didn't stop it it.. It came on every ten minutes for the next hour. My alarms were set to 9:45am and 8:30pm as usual. Even turning the phone off and on didn't stop the beeping. It was my 9:45am ringtone even. (The two are set differently)
Anyone else see anything like this? I'm on OTA 2.1
This is driving me crazy. The phone is pretty much useless when this starts happening. I will be on the Main home screen and then it will start jumping Home screens as if I'm swiping to the left but I'm NOT swiping! Once it is on the last screen to the left it won't let me switch back to HOME. I can almost never do anything when this happens. I haven't dropped the phone. I've reset the G-Sensor. Has anyone experianced this? I've even done a Wipe of the device.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo through a weird assortment of events i managed to crack the screen on my Eris. But this is the trippy part, I didnt break the glass but the touch sensors underneath. So now i am unable to use the menu or home buttons and the entire left part of my screen and more. I am unable to unlock my device in anyway that i know(menu button, the slider). Is there any other way to unlock it? I now have 11 unread texts and 4 voicemails that I desperately want to view. Oh and I know some of you won't be happy about what I'm about to say but.... I took the leap to the moto droid. I had the chance to get it on a 1 year because I didnt get insurance and I went for it. I will really miss my Eris but the keyboard lag was just killing me.

This gets really annoying when using apps that require such actions. Anyone else having this issue or know what I'm doing wrong. Maybe an app that's causing it.

Im trying to find an app or program that is just like the screen when the moto droid is plugged into the multimedia dock (you know, the screen with the time, date, music and weather). Ive already tried a program called DockRunner, but it FCs every time.

I was thinking about rooting the DX before actually activating it by doing the Android screen corner taps; mainly because I want to install Titanium Backup using ADB, so that I can go ahead and restore all of my apps without having to wait for a Market sync, and so that I don't have to go back into each app and set them up. My question (well... more like a couple questions) is installing an app using ADB all that safe?--I read somewhere it was kind of sketchy. And would it even be safe to outright bypass activation/setup to root and do this? Thanks!
