HTC Droid Eris :: Eris Home Screen Jumping Spontaneously

This is driving me crazy. The phone is pretty much useless when this starts happening. I will be on the Main home screen and then it will start jumping Home screens as if I'm swiping to the left but I'm NOT swiping! Once it is on the last screen to the left it won't let me switch back to HOME. I can almost never do anything when this happens. I haven't dropped the phone. I've reset the G-Sensor. Has anyone experianced this? I've even done a Wipe of the device.

My home screens are jumping all over the place spontaneously almost like a ghost is moving them! And then the screen locks up and I have to pull the battery. This just started yesterday out of the blue. I have not installed or uninstalled new apps this week. Pretty much cannot use phone because this.

left my phone on my car charger after I got home for about an hour, when I took it off it was burning hot.. looked in system app (thank you OTD) and it said my temperature was 110 degrees farenheit. I'm not familiar with the normal operation temperature so I don't know if this is off the charts or just above normal.

I am running Aloysius v12. I have removed most of the rosie stuff. I am using JIT. Installed ADW but running Launcher Pro. My phone reboots itself about 4 times a day. It doesnt matter if it is charging, or if I am running an app of some kind, or on the phone. It will just reboot. First it started while running ADW and oc'd to 786. So, I switched to LP and slowed it down to 748. Still reboots.

So through a weird assortment of events i managed to crack the screen on my Eris. But this is the trippy part, I didnt break the glass but the touch sensors underneath. So now i am unable to use the menu or home buttons and the entire left part of my screen and more. I am unable to unlock my device in anyway that i know(menu button, the slider). Is there any other way to unlock it? I now have 11 unread texts and 4 voicemails that I desperately want to view. Oh and I know some of you won't be happy about what I'm about to say but.... I took the leap to the moto droid. I had the chance to get it on a 1 year because I didnt get insurance and I went for it. I will really miss my Eris but the keyboard lag was just killing me.

I don't know if I'm missing something in the settings or what, but every time I shake my Eris while running an app the screen automatically goes back th the home screen. This gets really annoying when using apps that require such actions. Anyone else having this issue or know what I'm doing wrong. Maybe an app that's causing it.

I have done a little bit or searching for this but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. So if it is out there then I am sorry for the repetitive post.I just updated to 2.1, and can't figure out how to switch to the Home instead of HTC Sense Home? Anyone out there know how to do this? Before on 1.5 OS, all I had to do was hold down the "Home" button to display my most recent 6 apps, then hit the button again to pick if I wanted "Home" or "HTC Sense".Now, that does not work.

Is there any easy way to reset the home screen back to the default layout if you decide you dont like the way you have it layed out? I figured there would be an option to reset to default settings but if it exsits, I cant find it.

I've been playing around with some of the other Home alternatives. So far, I found good things and bad things about each one of them. Right now, I'm trying out Helix launcher. I like the fact that I can add any shortcut to the bottom row next to the launcher. Open Home seems to have the most skins available. I like the clean look of the generic Android Home, but 3 screens is a little lacking.

I just installed lock 2.0 and i was just adjusting the settings and now every time I'm in my phone and i touch the "Home" button it locks my phone instead of taking me back to my home screen! Is this normal? Did I accidental do it in the settings? HELP its driving me crazy

i saw on some of the user interfaces that you can list your notes on a home screen. how to do that?. if i long press on a home screen it brings up note everything but not a list of all my items. i wanted to be able to see my list of things to do on the home screen. if this is not the right app to do that

I'm trying to go through these threads and nothing is making sense. I was a long time bb user and they seemed so much easier than this phone. Problem #1: When I hit the home button it used to ask if I wanted to go to the home screen or the HTC sense now it doesn't ask, how do I get it to ask again? Problem #2: Which is better to use the home screen or HTC sense? Why? Problem #3: I see that there is a new upgrade but when I go to the system upgrade it tells me my system is up to date? It currently reads V 1.5. I just wish I had a manual that I can just sit down and read and a tutorial to show me all the advantages of this phone over my bb.

I use HTC Sense on my phone, the problem I have is my phone is not saving my default home settings. When I push the home button it asks me which program I want to use to complete the action (either andriod Home or HTC Sense), I always click the box indicating I want to use this option as default every time I push home but 10 minutes later when I push the home button again it asks me again which program I want to use. I have double checked in my settings and it shows HTC Sense is set as my default home setting but something just isnt right.

I just discovered this issue - it may be only relevant to 2.1 since I upgraded (or to something else entirely) but when my Eris is plugged in and I use it the Home Screen seems to act crazy - well not that crazy - just that with motion the Homes Screens roll "left( that is to the left most screen) almost like I am using the track ball (but only in one direction) - unplug it and it works fine - its not a major issue but a wierd one - anyone else notice this behavior.

I have been reading a lot on this issue since my 3 week old Eris has started moving the home screens and cursors to the far left but only when charging. Is there a fix to this I can do myself? I know if I go to Verizon (corp store) they will offer to replace it with a FRU model (refurb) and I will not have that since this phone is brand new. Since being a Verizon customer for 4 years I have had FRU replacements all resulting in a replacement phone that has even more issue's than the one it replaced which then resulted in a multi model FRU to a new phone (Samsung Gleam (2 replacements) to a new Env2 (3 Env's) then to an new LG voyager that lasted 2 years.What worries me is that Verizon has dropped the Eris and if I cant get a new Eris replacement I know they are going to throw the cinder block sized Moto Droid at me.

I just found this on gizmodo this morning. Slide Screen is a new home replacement app that "creates a meaningful hierarchy out of a your information". It's really quite awesome. I went ahead and bought the pro version. I've only been using it for about 2 hours or so, but if you enjoy organized information, this is fantastic.

I want the incoming message to show up on the home page when it is first received, like the iphone does, it covers a good portion of the screen, for a few seconds even when the phone is asleep, then it goes away until you wake it up. I tried Handcent and I'm now using ChompSMS. With Chomp you get this tiny little ticker at the top of the screen, that is all. Is it possible to have that feature with this phone?

I set my screen to use HOME versus Sense UI. Well, I put the ATM widget on my screen for single click app ends...when I do this, though, it kills home.
Anyway I can exclude Home from this. It doesn't appear to be an option in my Apps list when i open Advanced Task Manager
I have YET to receive a single email from androidforums.com when I use "Instant Email Notification" for thread replies.

I just got my eris so i was experimenting with apps. I was reading a thread about Lockbot and decided to see what it was all about.. I messed with it for a few mins and decided i didn't like it so i uninstalled it. When i pushed the home button a menu pushed up that said something along the lines of "Home or Sence" (or something like that) and i chose sence because i was curious. Now my home screen is completely different and lost my custom scene.

I had been hearing that it may have been because of Handcent SMS but I removed it and it still moves slow. Text messaging, moving to home screen, etc. Things just move very slow. How can I fix this?
