I just got the eris for fathers day. I have been trying to use the calendar. When I set up an event for the same day the eris will alert me and put a calendar in my status bar. But if I set up an event for the next day it will alert me but no calendar in the status bar. Why is this? What am I doing wrong?

So the large calendar widget that I placed on my home screen used to show dark little tabs in the corner of everyday that I had an event. While I was looking through it, all of the little tabs disappeared and I have no idea what days I have events unless I go into the actual calendar app. Is there any way to keep them there permanently?

View 7 Replies View RelatedThe only way i can get the GPS status bar icon to not be there is to restart the phone. I can kill all running apps, kill all running services, and put it in airplane mode and it continues to sit there and blink the little green lines for hours.

View 49 Replies View RelatedI've got a lot of contacts that are synced with their Facebook profiles and I really like the integration with the phone, especially in the 'People' app.
But I'm confused about how the notifications work. I get periodic notifications about updates from certain people, but when I click this notification it takes me to the People app's group tab, but none of the people who were in the notification show up here as having updates. It's usually just different peoples' birthdays or updates.
I tried refreshing the list here, but it still doesn't pull up any new people usually.
yes, it is . I charged it up Sunday night. Monday evening I still had over 60%. Monday night I did not plug it in, I tuned off 3G though. This morning the battery status still showed ~60%. So what did I do (or what did I NOT do)?
(1) I did not do the battery discharge-recharge thingy. BTW, if you really *fully* discharge a Li-ion battery you will kill it.
(2) I did not download any task killer/manager. This is supposed to be a smart phone to kill things when needed.
(3) I do not use the Home button at all. I always use the back button. my awake time is about 10%
(4) I do autosync, but my WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS is off.
I admit I am not a heavy user, though I have used up about 50 Mb data in 2 days. Peter
Is there a way that I can get my contacts' face book pictures and status' to update without having to receive face book notifications on my phone? I turned off the face book notifications because they were annoying. But when I did that, the pictures and statuses never refresh. I just want them to refresh, but I don't want the notifications to be sent to me all day.

Initially this worked fine, but after a few weeks I can no longer sync my calndar - I've tried everything and I"m done. It seems using my google account is easier. So, having said that, since I deleted the gmail calendar, I went into "manage apps" and cleared everything associated with gmail, including my calendar. I then asked me to set up gmail again, and I did. I hoped this would bring the calndar back, but it didn't. So now I'm left without a gmail calendar to sync with.

I haven't changed anything on the phone and today it didn't alert me for two different appointments? Has this happened to you? Also, is there any way to set the time of alert different from the standard 5 minutes before appointment?

I've figured out the issue in regarding the alarm. My alarm only works if I have one alarm set, if there are more than 1 then that is when it will not sound the alarm.I just wanted to put that out there because I have seen people in need of the same help. Hope that helps. Second, I can not figure out why the HTC calendar widget will not show my events. I can get it to show my events by deleting the widget and re-adding it, that is just stupid.I am using the smooth calendar widget right now, I like it but I would like to use the HTC widget calendar.

I'm generally happy with the result except it only syncs about 2 weeks worth of events into the future. I would like to be able to see maybe 3 or so months worth of events on the Eris. I have plowed around in the settings and cannot locate anything that lets me choose how much of my Google & Exchange calendars to sync.

This works flawlessly for email and contacts but recently stopped working for calendar. My phone returns the message "The Exchange Server returned some status errors." Cannot find any status errors with the Exchange server....
View 24 Replies View RelatedI keep a shortcut to the Calendar on my home screen. With 1.5 I was always annoyed that the shortcut had a 28 (or somesuch) date on it. I really wanted it to be dynamic so the shortcut always had the correct date. On Sunday when I got my 2.1 upgrade, I was so happy to see that the calendar shortcut had the correct date, the 15th. I was bummed to find out that it was a concidence. The correct date was only displayed because it happend to be be the 15th. Today, on the 17th, it still says 15 on my shortcut.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently did a hard reset of my phone and it really cleaned things up and made things run faster (and I got rid of a bunch of apps I never really used.) I did notice that the calendar functions differently now. I used to be able to call up an individual day and see scheduled appointments, then I could swipe left or right on that day to go to the next day or previous day. You still can scroll through time that way in the full month display by swiping up and down but that functionality seems to be gone now for day views. Anyone else notice that change?

View 1 Replies View RelatedFirst off I want to say that I really like my new Eris but.... Coming from a BB there seems to be a problem that could make or break the deal. I frequently enter phone numbers as a note in outlook calendar (temporary contact thing), with the BB I could pull up the calendar and make a call from the number within, but that doesn't seem to be the case with the Eris, I've tried everything, does anybody have any suggestions.
