I got my 3rd Eris since June today & when I'm typing a text it vibrates/makes noise & I can't figure out how to freaking turn that off. I turned off Audible Touch Tones, Hepatic Feedback & Audible Selection..... It only makes this noise when I'm typing (ie. texts, emails & dialing).

My question is I really like the little click noise it makes when you clicking on things when typing and in the menu does the Evo have this feature and I know it doesn't have swype is there anything comparable for the Evo seeing it doesnt have it?

I have my settings so that my keyboard only vibrates (no sound!) for sending texts BUT it makes a clicking noise sometimes when I press the keys. This is really annoying and no. Hard reset does not help. Has anyone else experienced this. my phone is the HTC Incredible.
View 13 Replies View RelatedIf you set something, let's say messages, to vibrate, it vibrates even when the phone isn't in vibrate mode. In other words, in normal mode - you'll get an audible alert and vibrate. If you turn off vibrate for messaging, then switch the phone profile to vibrate, the phone doesn't vibrate for messages. So it seems like it's all or none - vibrate always on, or always off. Is this what others have found? I tried installing Quick Profiles and creating profiles but the behavior is the same. Is there an app that has more granular control and can actually control vibrate?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhile I'm talking to someone, if I receive a text/alarm goes off/or any other notification that vibrates, the phone still vibrates even though I'm in the middle of a call. It is very annoying to have the phone vibrate while it's against my face, and the person I'm talking to can hear it as well. It just started doing this a few weeks ago, and nothing seems to fix it. What makes them different/better than the hard case I got off of eBay. Serious question. I have used the cheap screen protectors off of eBay and I don't like them as well. Might as well go ahead and spend the dollars each for OEM ones lol.

When I listen with headphones to podcasts, music, etc. I get weird signal noise. It's most noticeable when listening to podcasts/talk as there is lots of room to hear the noise on the line. It's like low little hums, "chirps," not totally sure how to describe it. Just not a clean, clear silence when there should be silence. I've used different headphones, definitely not anything there. I'm wondering if this is a known issue, a problem with some handsets, fixable, etc.?

View 49 Replies View RelatedSometimes with my Eris when I try to type a text message or make a phone call, nothing shows up. I can press the letters and see the auto-correct as if its typing, but on the message bar, there are no words being typed. For making a call I can type in numbers, but when I press call, nothing happens, whenever this happens I have to wait a few minutes before it starts to register the typing again and sometimes i have to restart my phone all together. Is this happening to anybody else? And, if so, does anybody have a fix?

The dictionary will come up as if I am typing the word but no actual letters will have been typed. I've tried with both the stock keyboard and better keyboard but it wont work until I restart the phone.

My email address is rather long and since this is used as the login for just about everything, it's tedious to type with an on-screen keyboard. On my Mac, I use QuicKeys to set short key combinations that will type various things like addresses, phone numbers, emails, etc. that I use all the time. Is there an equivalent in the Android world?

Almost every time I try to send a text, I'll get about halfway through typing it, and the program will just go back to the previous page without warning. I lose the text and I have to start over. This happens EVERY time I try to send a sms to a group. (Which means I can't send a group text ever, which is frustrating).

My eris for some reason changes pages and slides on its own when im not touching it. and when i hold the phone its gets worse. How can i fix this? Another thing. When im typing sometimes the thing that says were the letters go moves and my words look all messed up. Example: im typing the word mississippi.. and halfway Threw the word it moves making it look like this --> sippimissis.. i dont eventouch that part of the screen.. one last thing.. when im ussing the internet on. my eris sometimes the phone clicks things randomly. It presses random buttons by its self :/ seems to me theres a senor/ touch problem. How can i fix all this?

It usually happens when i get 3-5 msgs in quick succession, but sometimes just happens right after i wake it from sleep. Any fixes?

View 3 Replies View RelatedBoth the sense and multitouch keyboards lag to high hell in the google voice app. I even tried the leaked apk for the new version with widgets and its even worse.handcent, gmail, everything else is perfect. GV is my main texting app now so its a pretty big annoyance for me, especially when I'm texting while something else is running in the background.

Whenever i hold it in a vertical position, you can here it click. You can actually see the batt cover move just a little bit. Is anyone else having this issue. I know that it is a small thing to complain abt, but that clicking is annoying.

It seems like the Eris can't keep up w my typing and it causes delays and issues when typing messages, etc. Not sure if its the hepatic feedback or the correcting, but its frustrating at times. Apart from that, I like the keyboard and the predictive text works well.
View 23 Replies View RelatedI text. A lot. It's very irritating when the keyboard on the Eris can't keep up with how fast I type. I'll be finished with my message, and the last few words take 1-3 seconds to show up, which is fine I suppose. However, when I make some errors, the auto-correct feature doesn't work because apparently my typing speed is too quick for it.
Everything works fine when I type slowly, but that's annoying too.
I barely have any apps besides the stock ones. In running services I only have the calendar, Google Voice, Touch Input, and BatteryTime running. I don't use any app killer, I have animations and haptic feedback turned off. I don't know what else I can do to speed this phone up.
This problem, the lag in switching from portrait to landscape, and the lag with calls is really making me want to sell my Eris and purchase the Incredible, or I may wait until the "Moto Droid X" releases in July....or is that just a rumor?
