Can any one PLEASE give me step by step directions to sync my droid eris to my PC. i still cant figure out how to get my music onto it because my PC doesn't recognize my phone for some reason i can't figure out. and i can't watch videos on youtube. they all give me a message saying " cannot play video, sorry this video cannot be played." If anyone could help with anything I'd appreciate it very much.

Ever since 2.1 OTA I can't get my sync settings to stick.I want it to push items as they arrive. I check that box, but when I exit out, it goes back to manual. I've tried changing this in the email settings and in the main sync settings.This is driving me crazy- I keep missing my work emails!Also- I have never figured out how to get my vibrating notifications back after the OTA. If my ringer is on vibrate, the only notification I have that an item arrived is my LED.Finally- has anyone found the fix to the multiple notification email bug? I still get 3-4 notifications for one email when my ringer is on ring.

View 5 Replies View RelatedThis is my first "smartphone" although I have used a corporate Blackberry and I have used a Palm for many years. I've had this phone for about a month now. While the hardware is ok, the software for critical functions (Calendar, Contacts, Notepad, and Music) absolutely sucks!
1. I do not want to use Google/Gmail for my calendar and contacts. I don't know about any of you, but I do not feel comfortable having my confidential contact and calendar information sitting on the internet in Google. The company I work for even has a block on Google contacts & Gmail because it is not secure and fraught with potential for virus. I want a way to sync calander, contacts and notepad directly from my PC to my phone. Unfortunately, this can't be done. I've tried Companion Link. Besides the fact that it cost $39, I can't even get it to work. This type of functionality should be a basic part of a smartphone. Iphones do it. Blackberry's do it. Palm Pre does it. Why not the Droid?
2. Music - I have been trying to figure out a way that music synced to the Droid will play in the proper order. The Droid will only play music in Alphabetical order. I can't find a way to play music in Track # order. I have been on the phone with Motorola for hours. Finally got to Level 2 tech support. They told me that it cannot be done. How stupid is this? Try listening to a Broadway Show album in alphabetical order! Right now I feel if you just want a fancy toy, buy a Droid. If you want a real "smartphone" look somewhere else.
I've searched the forums and looked at the Sticky above, but it doesn't seem to answer the question. We have one staff member here that bought a Droid Eris (Verizon) and unlike the Motorola Droid, I can't get this phone setup via Active Sync to our exchange server. I setup his account on my phone (M Droid) and it worked perfectly...messages, contacts and calendar all synced up fine. I go back to his Eris, and it says the account cannot be created at this time. All the settings are the same etc., so I'm a little stumped. I called Verizon and they said to wait for the new 2.0 upgrade that's supposed to be coming, but they weren't sure if that had been addressed or not. Am I missing something, or does the HTC Droid Eris not fully work with Active Sync with MS Exchange 2003?

View 1 Replies View RelatedHas anyone been able to sync their Eris in Vista? I have yet to get HTC Sync to even see my phone. The only way I know that I can even see it is by doing a USB mount to copy files over to the MicroSD. I did some Googling and it looks like others are having the same problem. Just wondering if anyone found a work around. I have yet to try it on one of my XP machines.

Everytime i receive one it will say in the notification bar "message not downloaded, retransmission scheduled for xx:xx" and in the actual message there is an option to download but when that is selected it just reverts back to the message in the notification bar.

When someone sends me a pic I get an alert that it was not able to be downloaded, to retry, and then it doesn't work again. Sometimes it will push through a non received picture message from weeks ago and sometimes I just wont get any notification at all. Does Update fix the non dowloadable MMS?

I rooted a few weeks ago, am running xtrsense 3.0.1 and apps2sd. Certain apps that i had installed prior to root were not working after root. I tried to uninstall these and reinstall. Whenever I tried the reinstall, there is an error stating insufficient storage available. Checking the SD card, it says 140 MB available. I seem to be able to install new apps, but not reinstall previously installed. The specific apps this has happened with are Better Keyboard, shazam and handcent. Any suggestions?

Although the browser works better, I do get the same result for some videos using the browser too. Is this part of the limitations with having Android 1.5 or what?

View 14 Replies View RelatedMy girlfriend has an HTC Eris and here lately she's been having an issue answering phone calls. This doesn't happen every time but does happen a lot - she'll get a call and will press answer on the phones screen and she then hears nothing. The person that's calling her doesn't hear her picking up, in fact with the tests we've done with my phone and a friends phone is that on the callers end it just keeps ringing as if she never picked up.
She picks up she hears nothing, the caller on the other hand just hears the phone keep ringing. Any idea's what's causing this? She's not running any custom ROMs, in fact it's a stock phone up til about 2 days ago when I did root the phone - however she had this problem prior to that as well.
My wife sent an email to her work email. It did not arrive and now she keeps getting a "unable to send mail (hotmail)" notification. And it wont stop. She gets the notification every 5 min or so. I deleted the outgoing message but that didn't fix it. I turned notifications off and then then on and that didn't fix it.

If I click on it, it takes me to the edit email account screen. When I go through the steps it says authentication failed even though my gmail account is fine. I don't know how to fix this. Also when I go to all programs I have 2 internet, 2 maps, and 2 navigator icons that weren't there before and won't delete.

My first one VZW just kept making excuses and wanting to do factory resets and delete apps because in their words that was the problem. The tech guy on the phone told me that they could only replace it with another eris again so here I sit with another POS that continues to lock up. I have been unable to make calls 80% of the time. What a joke On average I have to remove my battery 3-4 times a day to get it to work.

Problem #1: When I hit the home button it used to ask if I wanted to go to the home screen or the HTC sense now it doesn't ask, how do I get it to ask again? Problem #2: Which is better to use the home screen or HTC sense? Why? Problem #3: I see that there is a new upgrade but when I go to the system upgrade it tells me my system is up to date? It currently reads V 1.5. I just wish I had a manual that I can just sit down and read and a tutorial to show me all the advantages of this phone over my bb.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got the 2.1 update and I'm just trying to figure everything out.The one thing that I'm having a problem with is changing the default dialer.I had this problem before using aContacts, but was able to fix it in 1.5.But now that I have the 2.1 update,I cannot change the default dialer, which hasn't changed at all. uninstalled and reinstalled aContacts but it did not work. I never got the popup asking which app I want to use as the default.If anyone can help,it would be appreciated.Maybe it's a glitch - I don't know.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an eris flashed with PB00IMG and I believe I have root access. I am able to remove apps through terminal. I cannot get the google maps to update. I have removed maps.apk, htcnavi.apk and com.google.android.maps.jar. I have removed these separately and all together. I have been able to get it to update before, but I reflashed the PB00IMG because I could not get youtube videos to play without the stock browser. I got the youtube videos working again but cannot remember how to get the maps to update again. I wanted to try flashing different roms. I have downloaded a couple, placed them on the sdcard, and booted but I cannot get them to boot.

I bought an extra 2gb Sandisk micro SD card and I tried to use it to update my friends phone to 2.1 v3 and it didn't ever load the image when in boot. I finally had to take my card out of my phone and use it. A pain, but it worked. I'm just wondering if I got the wrong card?

View 7 Replies View RelatedThe bluetooth I have is the Jawbone prime and its currently synced with my phone.I can talk to people perfectly fine with the bluetooth but when I open Pandora, it doesn't play the music through the bluetooth.Is the Eris compatible to do that or do i have a defective bluetooth or do i need to enable something,I simply cannot find the option to open bluetooth to access media.
