It seems, almost every video I want to see is unable to play with the youtube app. I'm not really a big youtuber as it is, but why have a youtube app on the phone if it can't play 99% of the videos? Although the browser works better, I do get the same result for some videos using the browser too. Is this part of the limitations with having Android 1.5 or what?

So I have had my Droid Eris for about a week now. The other day I decided to play around on YouTube to see what it was like. Here is the thing though, I have literally found like 1 video that will play. Most of the time I get "This video can not be played". Anyone know why this is?

This is a new Eris, got it about 2 weeks ago so I am assuming it's got the most current ROM. Does anyone know how I can get YouTube to work while on the cellular network and not WiFi?

I have yet to be able to play any youtube videos on my phone, whether it be from the youtube widget, a browser window, or a facebook link. It just goes to loading video, and it never loads. Has anyone else had this problem?? I have tried it both with and without using wifi.

I know a lot of people have been having trouble with YouTube. I was experiencing these same problems. When i first got the phone YouTube worked fine, and then i started experiencing the following message. "Sorry, this video cannot be played".However i found that when i cleared my search history the videos would then play. For those that don't know how to do this. In the YouTube Application: Menu>Settings>Clear search history.You don't have to exit the application after clearing your search history but you may have to go back a page and then re-select your video.This has worked for me time and time again.

I have used the youtube app since the ota that was sent out to fix it and downloaded an apk that allowed it to always default to HQ rather than having to change it each time. But I just tried out the mobile site and it is blazingly fast compared to the app. The only thing that would make me not use this over the app is that I didn't see a way to watch the videos in HQ. Am I missing something? Does anyone else have a preference for the mobile site over the app or vice versa?

I can login on my pc but I can't on my phone widget. Is anyone else having this problem and what kinda of fix can I do? I tried this in the YouTube app and the browser, but I got the same results. For this particular search, my Droid came up with 4 results, and my computer 20 results. I've also done google searches for particular videos, only to get a "video not compatible with YouTube mobile" (or something like that). Are these 2 issues related? Is my search on my Droid only finding mobile-compatible videos?

Im logged in my youtube account and im connected to my wifi at my house. But the problem that im having is that everytime i go to upload the video, It continues to say Waiting to Retry.. It keeps saying that for like 15 minutes until eventually it says Failed Network Error.. The wifi is working fine when trying to browse internet. I deleted the cache and data in youtube as well.. I just cant understand what would be causing this, but its really annoying.. I really wish someone could help me please.. I dont know what else to do. I had a bunch of music saved on my SD Card that I downloaded from VZW Music Media thing.
When I go to music on the Incredible and go over the song (it shows the picture of the album of the song)
it says "unable to play this type of audio"
one problem i just noticed since i installed LFY1.4 with the smoked theme.. when i try to play videos that i recorded on my phone previous to rooting, and rom'ing i get an error "sorry this video cannot be played". it only happens with certain videos, not all of them. not sure if it has to do with the rom, the theme, launcher pro, rooting or what.. wondering if anyone else has had this problem, or anything similar?

View 10 Replies View Relatedhas anyone else noticed that with the 2.1 youtube app on the eris ROM if you go to my account and then your subscriptions you can't watch the videos of your subscriptions there? is that because the ROM hasn't been registered or something because it worked just fine with 1.5 (when you could get the videos to actually play).
