Do I have to buy a certain kind of micro SD card for the Eris? I bought an extra 2gb Sandisk micro SD card and I tried to use it to update my friends phone to 2.1 v3 and it didn't ever load the image when in boot. I finally had to take my card out of my phone and use it. A pain, but it worked. I'm just wondering if I got the wrong card?

Went to my homescreen and it was blank except for my background. A soft reset wouldn't load sense either. I have changed nothing on my phone, non rooted.What would cause this and how can I get all my sense widgets back?I realize this might get moved, but no one visits the support and troubleshooting forum on here, and I need quick help.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an eris flashed with PB00IMG and I believe I have root access. I am able to remove apps through terminal. I cannot get the google maps to update. I have removed maps.apk, htcnavi.apk and com.google.android.maps.jar. I have removed these separately and all together. I have been able to get it to update before, but I reflashed the PB00IMG because I could not get youtube videos to play without the stock browser. I got the youtube videos working again but cannot remember how to get the maps to update again. I wanted to try flashing different roms. I have downloaded a couple, placed them on the sdcard, and booted but I cannot get them to boot.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Nexus one and I have made a bit of a mess of it when loading a custom rom. Previously I'd rooted (without unlocking) the stock (2.2) rom before loading Cyanogen 6, later Cyanogen nightlies and finally eViL-NXSense-v1213. I was rather enjoying the last one but had severe stability issues which I think was due to using Titanium Backup and restoring data. I was in the process of re-imaging to eViL-NXSense-v1213 after clearing the SD card, data and various caches when something seemed to happen to the recovery image. I can get into the boot loader but if I select Recovery it shows the Nexus One logo indefinitely and doesn't respond to the power button being pressed, the same happens if I turn it on from cold.
Is it possible that the recovery image has somehow been corrupted? If so what can I do to restore a recovery image that will enable me to install a custom rom. I would prefer not to unlock the boot loader but will do it if necessary.

Bonus Question: Can I use a loading animation in a image view while the real image is loaded? Right now it's just a default image.
I tried flashing back to an older rom I used before, but this time it said there was an error and wouldn't work. I tryed doing a restore and that didnt work either. Now when i try to reboot, it just gets stuck on the 3 skateboarders. And when i try to go into recovery it just shows the triangle with an exclamation point, instead of the old menu I used to have. Is it fixable or did I brick it?

I am trying to put a custom boot animation on my moto droid 1. I have root I have done it before and I am using froyo. My big problem now is that I tried putting a different one I downloaded on and it worked. So I need someone to tell me whats wrong with the one I made, because I am out of ideas. I have compared size, resolution, ppi, bit depth but for some reason my images are way bigger files. The sequence was created by using virtualdub to clip a section of an animated short, then exporting an image sequence as png.
But I've fed the images through gimp and an image resizer. The frames are only some of them because I went through deleting every other frame a few times to cut down on the total size. The file is too big to attach here so i put it on my web space at:

I am using the patch that lets me put the files in datalocal and be named bootanimation.zip. it works I've tried with other animations like I said.
We all talk about the issues with the signed boot loader and not being able to create roms. Is anyone good even working on this? I haven't seem any Dev's even on here discussing plans. Are we all waiting around for nothing or is it being worked on?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was messing around with root explorer and noticed that i was able to delete my boot animation with it when i was mounted as R/W so i thought i would try to copy one and it also works... so no need to push with adb shell.. here are the steps
1. take the boot animation make sure it is named bootanimation.zip and copy it to your SD card
2. then open root explore and mount R/W and then navigate to the file and press on file till the menu comes up and select copy
3. then navigate to data/local and paste the file in the local directory
and you are done, this can be done with the android_audio.mp3 file as well just paste it to the same place.
just thought this would make it easier for people instead of using adb shell

So Verizon just replaced my eris with a refurb and everything seemed to work fine. I was initially able to lo load a photo album widget, but that after doing some SD card file editing, when I tried to look at photos, the pictures no longer load. I can look at them if I access the pictures within the camera function. But if I try to look at the the android photos apps, I get a never ending 'loading SD card data'. If I try to view them through ASTRO, the htc.photo program forces closes repeatedly and I have to pull the battery. I've already moved my data from the SD card, reformatted it, re-loaded the data and that allowed me to view the pics in the camera feature, but overall this isn't working. Because it worked at first, I'm thinking it isn't the phone and it's something I did.

However, it appears that I may be the only one with this problem so what I really need is a solution. When I open the people app and select "my contact card" it just keeps attempting to load to no avail. I've erased and re-synced my contacts a few times (pita) and tried everything I can think of. Granted its not the end of the world, but I like seeing my pic in the messaging threads. I updated to v3 yesterday if that helps. I've also tried the usual rebooting, battery pull, etc.
