HTC Droid Eris :: Anyone Received 12.8MB OTA Update Today?
Jun 29, 2010I very unexpectedly received an OTA update today. Currently running 2.1 Leak V3 and was under the assumption from reading posts here that I wasn't supposed to receive anything OTA at all.guess not.I don't want to lose/delay potential root capability and knowing Verizon, there's an HBOOT update in there.Can anyone shed some light?

Dec 9, 2009So I returned my Eris today.The battery issues had been pretty much contained.I could get a full day out of a charge, but the lag was terrible.I had it all over the place despite running task killer, spare parts, clearing cache, etc.Then the phone started to get wacky. It would freeze with black screens when switching to home.Sometimes when going to home, I would get a black screen with an HTC logo displayed for about 20 seconds, then it would show Sense UI loading for about 10 seconds (dimmed picture, loading logo, no applications).Also, I would have periods where I could not switch between screens.The dialer was ridiculously laggy as well. I would press end, and the phone wouldn't end for about 5 seconds. Dialing the phone sometimes I would have a 1-2 second delay when pressing buttons.

Dec 30, 2009The default HTC Weather app isn't working today after I restarted my phone after a test.
The Current location 1/2 says Albuquerque, New Mexico. It says "No weather data available"
The 2/2 entry I programed is Albuquerque, NM and that works.
I just added a 3rd Dallas, TX and that works.
Something is odd. It's using the long spelled out state name for the Current location and that doesn't seem to be found in the Weather server when it checks. Just the 2 letter state names seem to work.
HTC Desire :: Update Today Does Not Work?
Sep 2, 2010This morning I got a question to upgrade the operating system on my phone so I said YES. It went through the whole process and when it finally booted up it does not work. It now keeps booting up. I did a master reset and cleared the data but now it just keeps booting by itself and so the new operating system must be at fault. Any ideas?

Aug 4, 2010Migrated from multiple Blackberry phones. However, I cant seem to find a thread or app) where it shows my next 4-6 meetings/calendars. I would LOVE to have this app on my home screen. I have no problem paying for the app, I just need it.

Aug 19, 2010I received my replacement Droid today and it came with 2.1 still installed. I have had it running for about 10 hours now and still have not received the 2.2 update. I called Vz this evening and they said they have finished sending out OTA updates for 2.2 and if I want it installed I have to go into a store.

Oct 20, 2010Just wondering how often people choose to update their applications. I currently have about 13 updates available, but I hate that the updates ADD to the size of the app instead of replacing what you have. Eventually, after updating Google Maps a few more times, the thing is gonna be over 10MB... not that that is HUGE necessarily but a few apps like that, that keep adding on 1 or 2 MB per update will definitely add up. Sometimes I will uninstall and reinstall again, so as not to end up with a much bigger file size-- however, I'm not sure that always works as I think it should. Anyhoo, what is your application update process? Update all? None? Just ones you think are necessary? Also, sometimes updates are awful, so I try to read comments before updating, although there is usually someone who's not happy no matter what.

Feb 17, 2010I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but since the last OTA update, my Eris was literally stuck in 1xRTT data mode for unknown reasons. I fiddled with all the mobile network settings I knew about to no avail.
On a lark, I dialed *611 to try to get tech support on the line. I figured that maybe the Seattle area was having some service issue or something. Instead, the tech suggested I try dialing *228 and hitting option 2 in the menu (essentially resetting the phone's roaming setup)
Boom goes the dynamite, as they say. After a reboot, my Eris is sailing on the winds of 3G awesomeness and it's all thanks to a Verizon tech giving the right answer. Never thought I'd actually utter those last six words.
