Kinda peeved that it's a refurb.I thought I would get a new Droid since the one I purchased Touch Screen crapped out.Is this typical? This is the first time I had to use warranty on a cell phone.

I received my replacement Droid today and it came with 2.1 still installed. I have had it running for about 10 hours now and still have not received the 2.2 update. I called Vz this evening and they said they have finished sending out OTA updates for 2.2 and if I want it installed I have to go into a store.

Currently running 2.1 Leak V3 and was under the assumption from reading posts here that I wasn't supposed to receive anything OTA at all.guess not.I don't want to lose/delay potential root capability and knowing Verizon, there's an HBOOT update in there.Can anyone shed some light?
View 49 Replies View RelatedAfter fighting the silent bug for a while - I asked for a replacement that I received today. (The box said "Like-new Certified".) It came with 2.1, PCD: 06/28/2010, So I did not do Factory reset. I synced with google, I got all my contacts, with icons, e-mails and calendar back.
I reinstalled googe voice, AK notepad and swype beta.
Most important difference: The Available space (memory) is 131Mb now, whereas on the old phone it was 91 Mb. It seems I have one more bars, but I could be mistaken. (I wish I wrote down what I had before...) How do I check for the 50% bug? I will keep an eye of the silent bug shows up.
Looks like I have a dead pixel issue on my camera.. when I get a replacement, can that transfer all my settings and everything over, or do I need to downbload and install and setup everything all over again? I'm using launcher pro, and setting up all 7 home pages again takes a LOT of time.

View 22 Replies View RelatedThis seems like an obvious requirement for a calendar widget, but I can't get it actually show me today's events. For a few days leading up to an event, it'll inform me when it's coming, but when it's here, nada.
So is there any way to actually make the widget show the current day's events?
I'm receiving incoming e-mails on droid, and the outgoing e-mails are in the sent box, as though they have been sent. I've checked 3 different e-mail accounts that I sent e-mails to from the droid and none have been received. It has been a couple of hours since sent, any suggestions?

Re signed into my google account.Went to market, went to my downloads, saw large list of my apps that should have been downloaded. Went to bed. Woke up this morning, and none of my apps are on my home button.Went back to market, has about 2/3 of my apps saying 'starting download', another 1/3 saying 'installing'.But this has been 8 hours and nothing is actually installed. If I go to an app that says starting download, I can cancel it, then hit install button, and it installs. But I don't want to do this for like 30 apps if I don't have to.Also have tried a reboot, but so far, nothing better.I am connected to home wifi, so good speed. Before I got replacement phone I wiped my bad phone to see if it would help, and apps came back within an hour.

I've also heard that these apps don't play nice with the Droid's resolution/format/size screen. Has anybody tried any (or preferably all) of these three apps? Are you able to provide some of the pros and cons of each so I can make an informed decision? I would like to try out some of these options, I'm a huge customization freak.
View 11 Replies View RelatedWell I decided to go ahead and get a replacement droid...so i want to know what i can to make the transition smooth and easy... like making sure i get all my contact and apps switched over.My reasonin was (incase people want to know) the camera only works when it wants i was playing with a droid at the verizon store and the camera was so much better than mine. The there is the call quality issues. people could only hear me some of the time. i was using my phone to call a verizon tech and thought i was using a different carrier or something and i informed him it was my droid. lmao. but he could hear me on my husbands env2. also in there was the jumping from 3g service to no service in the same spot.

It changes your version from VZW to FRG22D. Motorola said it's in Verizons hands now, and the CSR at the VZW store said it's being pushed out. But to where? If you have received it on the D2, did it fix the corporate sync issue?

When you go to Settings -> About phone -> System updates, what message are you getting?
Previously (a couple days ago), I was getting a message along the line of "Your device is up to date".
Now, I'm getting this message everytime: "Check for update was not available at this time. Try again later."
If you have a home replacement, could you swap it with Launcher.apk and have it be the only one running, or would that not work?

View 27 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to see if I can get any good advice on a replacement phone for my work. The droid is my personal phone and I am up for a new device for my business phone. I have Verizon for my business phone as well and we are on a corporate plan. So the carrier has to be big V. I would try an android phone (other than the droid...I don't want two of them ) but I don't know how well android integrates with the Windows server for syncing contacts, calendar, outlook, etc. Any suggestions on phones currently out or coming out in the next month or two? Can have a physical keyboard or a decent touchscreen keyboard. I don't care as long as it works better than my HTC Touch did. Once I got my Droid. The resistive screen just didn't work for me anymore.
