When I receive an email a number in a green bubble with the number of emails appears on the email icon. The problem is when I check the email or delete the emails the number on the icon does not go away. The number just resets after I get in new emails.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy BB had a cool feature that I have not found in the Eris yet. It would automatically recognize phone numbers in emails. It turned them into a link. When you clicked it, it would dial the number. Saves you from having to remember it or copy/paste into phone app.

View 14 Replies View RelatedIt is my first smartphone. I put in all my contacts manually so that I could get the feel of the phone and learn the basics. On all my previous stupid phones, the contact phone number automatically formated to 901-555-1212. With the Eris it is 9015551212. Anyway to change this? I have searched other threads with the same question but no one ever replies. I have search the net with no luck. Should I just take it that there is no way to automatically change this. I have gone through and put in the extra ticks between the numbers manually but that is a pain in the arse.

What I've noticed is that while I can see the phone-numbers of people in my contacts list people whose number I do not have show up as, bear with me, "Unknown". When I navigate to "Call History", (Say a friend whose number I don't have calls me). I can't add their number to my contact list. This is an increasingly frustrating problem for me. I'll navigate to the "Call History" screen and find that there's no way for me to identify what numerical-phone number called me. There will simply be the designation; "Unknown", while holding down on the entry (while the time/length of the call can be viewed). There is no way to add nor even view, the again, [Unknown] number to my contact list. Phones are ultimately communication devices, if I can't find a solution, well, I'm convinced that I'm going to have to down-grade from a smart-phone to something capable of recording and adding unknown numbers.

Is there a step I'm missing?

It does show an @ sign when i get pop mail via Gmail however it doesn't show up as a number on the mail icon. only when i get a true Gmail email does it show up as a number on the icon. once i go into mail and preview the email (pop) it will show as a number on the icon. any ideas?

I get the choice to use GV from my contacts list but not when I manually enter the number. Has anyone else had this issue? Please only respond if you have and use Google Voice. My Droid Eris is lagging terribly and I'm fairly certain its due largely to the number of texts i have saved in my phone. After going through the site for what seemed endlessly and trying for 2 days to erase the mass threads I've decided to do a hard reset. My contacts and calendar are backed up on gmail so I'm not worried about losing any of that but are the photos/video saved to the SD card or will they be erased?

When someone leaves me a message and i press callback it calls that number and Verizon wont recognize that +1 extension in front of the area code.

I am not sure if this came up in one of the topics, but I may have missed it.
For the past week, I noticed some of my contact priority number was defaulting to the number I least call. This morning, while trying to figure how to make priority changes, I noticed it was due to linking it to facebook.
I linked my wife's info with her facebook and the priority number (mobile) pushed it to her home number information she has on her facebook account. So instead of me just going to click on my wife's name or say a command to call wife, I have to scroll to find the number I want to call.
I there a fix for this to let us set the priorities?
I cracked my screen and got a replacement. I am trying to activate the old phone after I have preformed a factory reset. It asked me to input a phone number for activation. I do not want to do this. what are my options.
