When I select update driver software I go to the android directory and select USB driver and there is two things in that folder named amd64 and i386. And neither of them work what do I do?

I've got a Samsung Droid Charge, which I've rooted. I had used it for about 3 months with minimal issues. Yesterday I noticed my phone was stuck in airplane mode, and no amount of phone codes, setting tweaks, and soft resets would get it out. I backed up everything with Titanium and did a factory reset. This gave me my signal back, and I started the process of restoring everything via Titanium. After the restore completed, I was prompted to add my PIN for my Exchange account, which I did. I then soft reset my phone...
When the phone rebooted, I was in airplane mode again, and the PIN unlock screen was blocking entry to my phone. I enter in the PIN I had set a few minutes previously...and the phone rejects it. I try it a couple of times just to be sure, and no dice. I tried what I thought were defaults, like 1111 or 0000 or 1234...nothing. After my attempts ran out, the phone hard reset itself again.
Just to see if I wasn't crazy, I tried the whole process again and got the exact same result.
Why is my PIN being modified without my knowing, and what is it being modified to? Additionally, why do I get stuck in airplane mode after restoring my Titanium backup? I'd like to be able to use my phone without worrying about the need to wipe it after a soft reset...
In what way can a google voice number be used with an eris? I see alot of people wanting a GV invite. What can be done that is so sought after?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just rooted using the One Click method posted above. All went well up to where I rebooted after installing my KaosFroyo v27 I think. My phone is now stuck with a shiny Android logo, flashing over and over. It's been like this for about fifteen minutes now.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid Eris that I'm trying to flash from 1.5 to the latest rooted ROM 2.1. My first attempt, I copied PB00IMG.zip to the SD card, disconnected the phone, and flashed the firmware while disconnected from the PC. I think that prevented me from gaining root access, because I cannot remount the system directory using the adb commands (gives me access denied). I'm trying now to flash the ROM while still having the phone connected to the PC, but I'm not having much luck, as I am still being denied access.
PB00IMG.zip worked WONDERFULLY on my phone.
I downloaded Helix launchers 1 and 2 and the first one was compatible with my eris however on the info in the second on it said it will have a FC if it isn't compatible with your phone and its apparently not with my eris... but it won't stop force closing so I can't get to anything there is just a blank black screen in the background and the FC thing pops up a second after I click force close.what in the world do I do?

When I try to enter a URL like "www.youtube.com" into the search/go form, the prediction will pop up and stop at "www." or sometimes "www.y" with no option for me to use the URL that I typed. So if I hit the Go button, I end up Google searching "www." since "www." isn't a valid URL.
View 7 Replies View Relatedso im on my second eris root. all is well thus far, accept now i am trying to boot from recovery to put vanilladroid on it, and i cant get into recovery mode. i didnt have this problem with the last phone i did this to, and i dont know what im doing wrong at this point. i have reloaded amon's recovery image, and done all of that process over again. nothing works, when i boot power/volume up, all i get is the skateboard guys, then the exclamation point inside a triangle, with a phone laying down. "button mashing" on the end and send buttons then leads the phone to reboot back to normal mode. i even tried to reboot recovery from adb, and still got this end result. i am out of ideas (as im no programmer...)also, i have tried to get on irc, but keep getting booted, even when switching sn's.so ive given up on that as well
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was running aloysius v12, tried flashing purehero 2.1, and got stuck on the white skateboarder boot screen. Pulled battery, tried recovering my nandroid backups, (use clockwork mod), and whenever I try recovering my backups, i get a "Error while flashing boot image!" message, and it stops.
I've tried flashing just the regular Aloysius2.0v12 file, not a backup, and i get:

Installation aborted.
The only thing I can do from here is try to flash something else, or reboot. I can't get past the recovery screen.
I'm not sure where to go from here. Someone told me to install amon ra instead of clockwork, and to flash a new rom from there, but I don't know if that'll be the right way to go about it or even how to do that. Sorry for being such a noob, and i'm sure this problem is in a thread somewhere else but i looked all over and couldn't find it.
Is there any way to go back to MR1 or am I stuck on MR2?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI noted that people have mentioned getting stuck in 1xRTT, but today is the first time that it happened to me. (I've had the Eris since 6 Nov '09, and have the Dec 11th OTA update)I live in an area with good EVDO service (4 bars / -73 dBm), so I don't think signal fade is the issue. The only thing that I can remember being out of the ordinary when it happened to me was that I was on a voice call and purposely tried to surf the web (I didn't know whether WiFi was on - it wasn't - and I didn't check first.)
Afterwards, I couldn't get it out of 1xRTT - toggling "airplane mode" or toggling the HTC Mobile Network (or WiFi) widgets didn't seem to have any effect. I sort of just "left it" for nearly a full day, and it never showed EVDO any time I checked. Even stranger is that when I finally rebooted it, it didn't solve the problem.For that (first) reboot, I had both Mobile Network and WiFi toggled on - and the phone came up in 1xRTT. I turned off the WiFi (using the HTC widget) and rebooted - and the phone came up immediately in EVDO.
For those of you that have experienced the problem, do you remember anything specific that seems to have triggered it? Was use of WiFi somehow involved?
When I receive an email a number in a green bubble with the number of emails appears on the email icon. The problem is when I check the email or delete the emails the number on the icon does not go away. The number just resets after I get in new emails.

I don't own a headset and as such, cannot talk to or hear anyone I call or who is calling me now. I have scoured the net for answers but the only thing I found was an outdated app that will not work on the phone. Is there anyway to get my phone off headset mode. A toggle widget that works for the newest version of the os? Anything? Anyone

View 2 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone using erisuser1's rooting for dummies method - this went off without a hitch, I followed the instructions to the T. I put several custom ROMs on my SD card (using the USB, and properly ejecting the phone as a drive) including KaosFroyo v37 and v38, CELBFroyo 3.6, PlainJaneT2_V2, and Vanilla_Tazz_19.I tried flashing each of them (following the wipe of the system info and the Dalvik cache) and all but the PlainJane got stuck in bootloops that lasted a long time. I waited anywhere from 15 minutes to a few hours, and none of the others ever loaded up. I'm fine using the PlainJane and happy to have the other features of root but am wondering if there's any advice or suggestions as to why none of the other ROMs worked for me?

View 5 Replies View RelatedToday I plugged my phone into my car stereo to listen to pandora.When I unplugged it the headphone icon turned into a headset icon.I have no headset and now it's stuck in headset mode.I cannot hear anyone who calls me, or talk to them.I did a quick search for this problem and found some response that suggested it had to do with the hearing aid function in call setting, but when I went into call setting, the hearing aid option was turned off. I've tried powering down and restarting but that did nothing.I'm running a rooted version of 2.1, i don't remember which one but it based on the last leaked version of 2.1.

The phone died that evening and has been stuck in airplane since the recharge. Will not go out of airplane and continually force closes com.android.phone. I'm in an area with extended network. If it makes a difference I'm on the 2.1 rooted version. Need Help. spending the summer in alaska working at a youth camp and this is kind of a pain with limited computer access and a messed up phone. I have an unrooted Droid Eris, OS 2.1 OTA been working quite well for the past few months now few weeks ago, my battery was suddenly drained for no apparent reason (it was idle), no programs were running in the back at all it went back to normal after i turned it off and charged it. It happened again to day and when i tried to turn it back on, i got stuck on the 3 skateboarding droids. So i tried battery pull, x123121 didn't work. i did the "hold vol+send+power", -recovery: it gives me this red triangle with exclamation point, i only found errors regarding this on rooted phones while on this screen, i pressed vol up+power, and tried all the option there and nothing worked, it still gets stuck on the skateboarding droids then i held the "vol+send+power" and tried all the other options there, and it stuck on same screen.

Probably it is possible for Froyo at least. I found application called Easy Call Forwarding. But many people reckon it dosen't work actually. We can notice forwarded call by onCallForwardingIndicatorChanged() from PhoneStateListener but I have no idea how to set forwarding mode.
