I noticed when I search for a business or whatever and google finds a phone number, I click on it and it thinks it is a web page. It should open up the dialer and call the number.

I have had my eris for a week now and noticed that it has developed a clicking noise on the right side of the battery cover. Whenever i hold it in a vertical position, you can here it click. You can actually see the batt cover move just a little bit. Is anyone else having this issue. I know that it is a small thing to complain abt, but that clicking is annoying.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy BB had a cool feature that I have not found in the Eris yet. It would automatically recognize phone numbers in emails. It turned them into a link. When you clicked it, it would dial the number. Saves you from having to remember it or copy/paste into phone app.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIt is my first smartphone. I put in all my contacts manually so that I could get the feel of the phone and learn the basics. On all my previous stupid phones, the contact phone number automatically formated to 901-555-1212. With the Eris it is 9015551212. Anyway to change this? I have searched other threads with the same question but no one ever replies. I have search the net with no luck. Should I just take it that there is no way to automatically change this. I have gone through and put in the extra ticks between the numbers manually but that is a pain in the arse.

On iOS within any app, multiple options are available when clicking on a phone number contained within any text in any app. Eg: save to contacts, call, message etc etc.
Today somebody sent me their number in a Facebook message and the only option I had in the "complete action using" popup when clicking on the number was to call it or Skype it.
I wanted to SMS it, or at least save it to contacts.
Using 4.3 on an HTC One. And GoSMS
My Droid Eris is lagging terribly and I'm fairly certain its due largely to the number of texts i have saved in my phone. After going through the site for what seemed endlessly and trying for 2 days to erase the mass threads I've decided to do a hard reset. My contacts and calendar are backed up on gmail so I'm not worried about losing any of that but are the photos/video saved to the SD card or will they be erased?

Anyway, I'm just about finished putting all of my customizations back, but there's 1 thing I had before that I can't find: When I click on an icon on the desktop screen, or in a menu, I used to have a clicking sound. I remember there was a setting for it, but I can't seem to find it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have seen the new HTC Droid Eris commercial a few times and it seems to fudge the truth when using the HTC people widget. You can clearly see in the commercial someone clicking on a person from the HTC people widget. However, after they click the person it brings up the person's information, as opposed to performing the default action specified for the contact. From my tinkering with this widget, it seems that you cannot actually perform the action they show in the commercial.

I haven't seen anyone else mention this, but sometimes when I click on one of the bookmarks i've saved (especially after browsing the internet a bit) the phone will open the browser to the last page viewed - not the bookmark I selected.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I just picked up my Eris yesterday. For the most part it is working great right now but a couple things are a little annoying.
First, pinch zoom isn't working in the Google Maps app. Should it? Works great in the browser when surfing the web but not in maps for some reason.
Second, it clicks at me. For example, I'll hit the red power/call end button when I'm done using it to turn off the display. Then I'll set it down on the table or something and it makes these little intermittent click sounds just sitting there. After 5 minutes or so it stops. It isn't constant, just a couple clicks ever 10-30 seconds for a little bit then stops.
In what way can a google voice number be used with an eris? I see alot of people wanting a GV invite. What can be done that is so sought after?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI wanted to see if my Skype name was in my contact card, so I clicked on the People icon, found my name in the list and clicked on it. I saw my home and work addresses were given twice, so I clicked Edit, and up popped six optional contacts to edit! Three were listed with my name; one of those had my Google contact photo. The other three were my individual email addresses. This has happened before. Why the multiple choices for a contact to edit when it's only one contact (me)? (I'm using an Eris with Android 2.1.)

What I've noticed is that while I can see the phone-numbers of people in my contacts list people whose number I do not have show up as, bear with me, "Unknown". When I navigate to "Call History", (Say a friend whose number I don't have calls me). I can't add their number to my contact list. This is an increasingly frustrating problem for me. I'll navigate to the "Call History" screen and find that there's no way for me to identify what numerical-phone number called me. There will simply be the designation; "Unknown", while holding down on the entry (while the time/length of the call can be viewed). There is no way to add nor even view, the again, [Unknown] number to my contact list. Phones are ultimately communication devices, if I can't find a solution, well, I'm convinced that I'm going to have to down-grade from a smart-phone to something capable of recording and adding unknown numbers.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've experienced two problems with Google Voice that are causing me to get charged minutes I wouldn't usually get charged. If I can't solve them, I'll have to go back to using my Verizon number. First, let me say that I'm using a new Google Voice number that isn't Verizon cell phone number or any other preexisting number. Second, my girlfriend is on my family plan, but she doesn't have GV yet. We're using the 700-minute plan, so we don't have a friends circle.
Problem 1: When I call my girlfriend's Verizon wireless phone using the GV on my Verizon phone, I get charged, and when she calls my GV number on my Verizon Wireless phone from her Verizon wireless phone, she gets charged. We don't cash in on our free in-network calling. I know, this should have been obvious, but it just never occurred to me until after I looked at the bill. I'd be able to work with that, though, and just select "Call without using Google Voice" or whatever when calling her if it weren't for the second problem. When people call my Google Voice number, I get charged when I don't answer. Usually, it's just a one-minute charge, but sometimes it's two or three minutes (don't know why). With anything less than an unlimited plan, minutes count. Not good.
