I was wondering if anyone knows any good apps to disguise my phone number so I can prank call some of my friends with it. I would love to be able to record the conversation but that isn't a necessity I just want to fake my number.

I cracked my screen and got a replacement. I am trying to activate the old phone after I have preformed a factory reset. It asked me to input a phone number for activation. I do not want to do this. what are my options.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy BB had a cool feature that I have not found in the Eris yet. It would automatically recognize phone numbers in emails. It turned them into a link. When you clicked it, it would dial the number. Saves you from having to remember it or copy/paste into phone app.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIt is my first smartphone. I put in all my contacts manually so that I could get the feel of the phone and learn the basics. On all my previous stupid phones, the contact phone number automatically formated to 901-555-1212. With the Eris it is 9015551212. Anyway to change this? I have searched other threads with the same question but no one ever replies. I have search the net with no luck. Should I just take it that there is no way to automatically change this. I have gone through and put in the extra ticks between the numbers manually but that is a pain in the arse.

My Droid Eris is lagging terribly and I'm fairly certain its due largely to the number of texts i have saved in my phone. After going through the site for what seemed endlessly and trying for 2 days to erase the mass threads I've decided to do a hard reset. My contacts and calendar are backed up on gmail so I'm not worried about losing any of that but are the photos/video saved to the SD card or will they be erased?

Change ringer setting when getting a call from a certain number. i.e. Turn the ringer on when I call it from my google voice number in case I loose it.Also, to run a script when connecting to a specific wifi network.I believe Locale can do at least the first one, but I was wondering if there were any cheaper apps to do this as I have no interest in the gps features of locale.

2. The phone came with handcent messaging app which is cool but what is not cool and semi annoying is every time I get a text message it alerts me with the original app and that one. and if i check one the other one does not always clear the alert.
Any medical professionals out there found any good medical apps for the droid? I have Skyscape already, and Epocrates is supposed to come out with a droid app early 2010. Any other favorites out there?

As I continue to downlaod and try new apps, I notice that some of the permissions that some of them have are/is: "Prevent phone from sleeping". I didn't think much about it, but after conditioning my phone...for a few days I was getting around 11% awake time, now after a few of these apps after a recharge this AM I am showing 26%...before the charge my awake time was very high again. I always use Adavanced Task Killer after messing with the phone, 9/10 trials.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI stepped on my first Eris (don't ask) and had to get a replacement through Asurion. Well, I thought when I got my new phone I would be able to redownload all the apps I had purchased but I cant. The Market wants me to pay for them all again. I guess the market tracks you specifially with your phone, not your account. So I called Verizon, of course they were no help. The chick didn't even try to help, I asked her if I could get those apps back and she stalled for a second like she really didnt know but also didnt want to take the time to find out, then she said NOPE. I was like man, that sucks, she said YEP! That was the end of the conversation. Surely there is a way for me to get these apps back without paying for them again? I know they are inexpensive but when you have 10 or so they start to add up! Not to mention I had my first phone for less than a month and hardly got to enjoy the apps I purchased. I've thought about emailing the dev's but dont know if thats a good approach or not.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC Droid Eris with Verizon. It came installed with several apps that not only do I not use, but that in some cases start automatically. These include Amazon MP3, Footprints, Google Talk, Teeter, and YouTube. I would like to uninstall them, but I am not given that option (like I am for third-party apps) when I go into "Manage applications" in Settings. Is there another way of removing them from my phone?
View 29 Replies View RelatedAnyone know of any apps that will allow a parent to set a content filter on the Eris so a kid can't access adult themed websites (porn etc)? The subject came up at work and it sounded like something worth looking in to, but the best I could find was a content filter service from Verizon (for free) but it seems that it also prevents Google Navigator, Facebook and YouTube from working properly (they all load just fine, but crazy error codes come up which prevent you from getting any further). Also of note: this only works when using the 3G service, as WiFi has no problems accessing Nav, FB and YT.
