Installed Launcher Pro and love it.Extremely fast on my phone.The only problem I am having is that I do not get e-mail notifications for Yahoo or Hotmail.Handcent notifications work fine.As soon as I switch back to Sense, the notifications show up.Any ideas why this happens in Launcher Pro.I want to use it, but if I cant get e-mail notifications it is a no deal.

Did a search, didn't find what I'm looking for. I have only one email account, a gmail account, set up on my Eris. I would have my Yahoo set up as well, but for some reason it says my account info is wrong. Anyway, I get 1 notification for each of the email systems in the phone. 1 seems to be through HTC or a widget or something, 1 is the gmail app or whatever it's called. I've only had this phone for 3 days, and I love it. If it's any help, I'd like to only use the htc one as the keyboard seems more responsive as far as the auto-correction goes, and the layout is more simple and easier for me to read.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm running xtr 4.0.6.1 with LP Pro. Really like the setup and especially the dock at the bottom from LP. I have Phone, Mail, App Drawer, SMS, and GMail on my dock. I spend 80% of my time there in the Mail app as my Eris is primarily a work device for me, and my company uses Exchange. My issue is this, under Menu > Preferences, there are settings to turn on notification for Unread Gmail, Unread SMS, and Missed Calls. These notifications are down on the dock, not in the top notification bar. It's nice to have those three, but what I really need is the notification for Unread Mail (like the Sense icon has). I've been bouncing around the Launcher Pro website and came across somebody asking for exactly the same thing. In post #5 a user talks about using SDK to code it in manually via adb, and he's even provided the code. Can mere mortals like me do something like this? I'm curious to hear what the good and bad to this would be.

1 Exchange Account - Push
1 IMAP (Gmail) - 2 hourly
1 POP (Hotmail) - Once daily
My issue is that I am receiving alerts for the same new mail repeatedly. Here's the gist:
11:50 - New mail hits my inbox.
12:00 - I receive a notification of the new email.
12:05 - I check my inbox, but choose not to open the email at this time.
14:00 - I get a notification of a 'new' email, yet on checking it's the one received at 11:50, but still haven't opened.
15:00 - Rinse and repeat. Now, I'm not sure how many times this is happening, or even if it's everytime, but there's something definitely glitchy with mail notifications.Has anybody else noticed similar behaviour? If not I may try removing/adding my accounts back in again.
Is it possible to get a voice mail count on the launcher when using Google Voice? For that matter, I can't even figure out how to get a voice mail count for the VZW voice mail?

I added my Gmail and Text Messages shortcuts to my dock and check-marked the options to have the number of unread emails and messages show up. However, those numbers are not showing up on the icons whenever I get new emails or texts. Anyone else experiencing this?
View 16 Replies View Relatedfor some reason i can't seem to set up my personal yahoo email account. i keep getting an error saying i'm not authenticated? i just logged in with this pc and didn't have any problems. i was trying to set it up using the mail widget google /gmail worked just fine with their widget are they trying to just force me to use gmail only anyone have any similar problems and/or tips to get it set up. i would like to move to one email account but you know how it is, you get on, you get another, people have the old address guess i could forward yahoo to gmail.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have two accounts configured on my Droid X 2.1 - gmail and a corporate activex account. I get notifications for a new email coming into gmail but nothing in corporate. Under settings - accounts - corporate, I do see calendar, contacts and email are checked to sync. Also under settings -> data mgr, I have data push enabled and the fetch schedule is the minimum 15 minutes.However, if I have push enabled, I expect the email should notify immediately. Right?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat's your work around for e-mail notifications in the middle of the night. I really don't want to change setting every night just to set them back each morning. (the phone sits in the docking station on the nightstand). I guess I could just silent phone with the volume shortcut on the side of the phone, however if I receive a call or text in the middle of the night 99% of the time it is truly important. As stupid as it is, I have the crank yankers "I got mail" notification for my e-mail accounts for work and home. My wife says that if it goes off one more time in the night (lately about 3-4 times a night, & at all hours) she is going to smash my phone. Half the time it doesn't wake me up, and if it does, I can fall back asleep no problem. But for the sake of keeping wifey happy, I have to come up with a solution.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI want to add my gmail settings to the native mail app and use that for gmail instead of using the gmail app. I dont like how you cant attach a file other than a photo using the gmail app and I like the layout of the native mail app.If you add your gmail account to the native mail app can you still receive push email? I plan on disabling the sync settings for google in the main settings but that shouldn't affect an account added to the main mail app.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI called my phone, left a voice message, asked someone to send me a text message and I e-mailed myself at my Exchange address.
Only the Launcher Pro icons for Phone (Missed Calls) and Messages have a count indicator of a "1" in a red circle. The Voicemail and Exchange New Message counts aren't appearing in the Dock.
I even added a Shortcut to my Exchange mail account to the Home screen and it doesn't have a count either. Those all work under Sense.
I came across this new launcher today called ADW and it is now pretty stable since it is free in the market place (was only available for rooters before). Its pretty similar to froyo
After tweaking with some of the settings I have gotten the speed to be VERY close to that of LauncherPro Beta
Battery life seems MUCH better than LauncherPro. Mine was last unplugged 16 hours ago and I am at 75% with moderate txting and web browsing.
FOR PEOPLE HAVING TRUBLE WITH THE SETTINGS: I have found settings that work WELL for me. These settings make this thing FLY for me!
Desktop Scrolling Speed: 374
UnCheck Live Wallpaper SUpport
Desktop Overshoot: 39
Drawer Zoom Effect Speed: 401 (the only thing in the launcher that needs work.)
Uncheck new drawer
Check animated drawer
Check fast drawer
This launcher has SO MANY CUSTOMIZABLE FEATURES!
This is not as speedy as LauncherPro Beta but this is just starting out and should get faster!
Check it out very cool! Oh and it has a setting to remove the labels from the icons!
Updated the phone today to 2.1. I used to have yahoo mail working fine on the phone but it no longer works. Now it is telling me my username/password is incorrect. Anyone else had any problems since the update?

Before these we had samsung delves. So these are night and day with quality. But as most anything, things get bigger and better. Of course the new droids out, it kind of makes the Eris, an outcast it seems. So we've been playing around with a few launchers like launcherpro and adw launcher. So far we both like the launcherpro, and might upgrade to the plus for the widgets. Does anyone with launcherpro plus, possibly tell me what other features you get buy purchasing this app? And my last question is about rooting. What exactly does it do for your phone? Thank you all!
View 18 Replies View RelatedThis is driving me crazy. How do I clear voice mail notifications? Let me explain what I do. Of course the first thing is listening to the voice mail. Then I delete it. The notification is still there. When I open the notifications area I see voice mail pending. It's the same voice mail that I already listened and deleted. I click the voice mail icon and it tells me there is no voice mail. Then I go to settings, calls, and there is an option to clear voice mail notification, but is grayed. I can't do anything there. The only thing I can do is turn the phone off and back on. That is the only way I can clear the notifications area. There should be a better way. Anyone has the same problem?

Although, I'm having a problem (maybe it's normal for the droids and this phone) with my email notifications and FB notifications. I have my aol (primary) and yahoo emails on my home page but don't get notified when I have a new email. I have to physically open up the email icon. Is that normal for this phone? or is there a way to have a notification on that top bar (where txt msg notif. are) when I do get and email? Facebook know it's not a necessary thing but I was used to with my BB that I'd get a notification star on my FB icon when I had a new message/notification. Is there a way to have that on my FB here. The only way I know I have any FB notifications is when I physically open my FB icon and see a star on the notification bar at the bottom of my screen. I don't even know if fascinate and FB offer this kind of notification but if it does I'd like so enable it. I'm also having a problem syncing my fb contacts with my phone contacts. I don't know if its because my FB acct is under a different email than the gmail acct you need for the fascinate.

I used android market to get the Gmail widget (the one where the icon has the message coming out of the envelope and it looks like a red 'M'). That was working fine and I was getting my e-mails without any problems.The other day, I was tinkering with settings and I set up the HTC Mail widget, which I (stupidly) linked to the same Gmail account. I started to receive double notifications for my e-mails. I quickly realized I preferred the Gmail widget I was using previously, so I removed my account from the HTC Mail widget.So, my problem is that I no longer receive any notifications from the original Gmail widget when I get new e-mails. In fact, I no longer receive any notifications when I get e-mails. I have gone through all the settings I could find and all notifications are set to update automatically and alert me. The only thing I have not yet done is the account reset because this says I will have to reset my phone to factory settings and I don't want to lose everything I have on it at this point.
