I get an new email, I don't want to read it right now, so I clear the notification but five minutes later i get a new mail notification for the same message and continue to.

What's your work around for e-mail notifications in the middle of the night. I really don't want to change setting every night just to set them back each morning. (the phone sits in the docking station on the nightstand). I guess I could just silent phone with the volume shortcut on the side of the phone, however if I receive a call or text in the middle of the night 99% of the time it is truly important. As stupid as it is, I have the crank yankers "I got mail" notification for my e-mail accounts for work and home. My wife says that if it goes off one more time in the night (lately about 3-4 times a night, & at all hours) she is going to smash my phone. Half the time it doesn't wake me up, and if it does, I can fall back asleep no problem. But for the sake of keeping wifey happy, I have to come up with a solution.
View 14 Replies View RelatedWhenever I leave a wifi zone and the phone switches to mobile data I get annoying notification messages/bong from the stock email app that it "can't sign in to Yahoo mail". If I follow the notification it says the username/password is wrong which is obviously crap because it has no trouble getting mail over wifi.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI am using the stock HTC e-mail program on my Droid Incredible to access my Gmail account. Up until recently, I would get a single notification for each new e-mail message that came in. Now when I get a notification that an e-mail has come in I get a follow-up notification every five minutes or so until I open my e-mail program. This started happening even though I didn't change any settings. I have been unable to find a setting either in HTC's e-mail or in Gmail to undo this. I think, but am not sure, that this started up when I upgraded to 2.3.4.

I downloaded the patch that Pete Alfonso posted on his website and have flashed it 2 times now and I am still getting the OTA update notifications, anyone have any suggestions on how to make this stop?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have two accounts configured on my Droid X 2.1 - gmail and a corporate activex account. I get notifications for a new email coming into gmail but nothing in corporate. Under settings - accounts - corporate, I do see calendar, contacts and email are checked to sync. Also under settings -> data mgr, I have data push enabled and the fetch schedule is the minimum 15 minutes.However, if I have push enabled, I expect the email should notify immediately. Right?

Today I received the auto-update notice on my device, but I don't want to just go ahead with it and lose root access. So I am hoping someone can tell me how I should handle this. I would like to update, but only if I can keep root access as I have overclocked and run a number of other root-only apps. Here is my device info... I'll try to provide as much as I can. I used the instructions listed HERE to root my device, and HERE to overclock. Also, will it be necessary to wipe all my data to perform this update and re-root? And if it turns out that I am not ready to update right now, is there a way to stop the automatic notifications?

Ive been getting duplicate email notifications ( google), as well as text messages. How do I fix that? I dont have handcent, Ive heard lots of problemsw/ that. Im new to Droid there's so much to learn. thanks in advance for any feedback.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy phone will get notification rather quickly but when i put the phone down to go to bed and when i wake up there will be no emails no fb notifications but when i start to touch it again i get all the notifications from the time i went to bed till i woke up. is there a setting somewhere that makes the phone go into hyper idle or something? maybe coz they phone is stationary for so long? id gate to think i was at work and had my phone on my desk i wouldn't get any messages all day unless im touching my phone.

It does not do this with my other e-mail app. This is terribly annoying. I don't want a new e-mail of the e-mail I just sent in my inbox every time I send an e-mail. Is it possible to turn this off? I looked for a "reciept" option in the settings, but found nothing. The other e-mail app does not do this for my non-gmail accounts.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSorry if this is a dumb question, but does anyone know if you can set Google Voice Lite on my droid to not send so many notifications. I love the program, but when someone leaves a message, I get a text, email, and the google voice icon all in the notification bar.
I am using my old verizon cell number and just using the google voice for the messaging function.
I just would want the google voice icon to light up and then i can go right to the program.
I've gone back to stock sms after a stint with handcent. I'm happy with the stock app but there are two things I'm missing.
1. The repeat audible notifications if I don't hear it the first time
2. Blue LED notification
Are there any free apps which can add these features?

Whenever I get an email, I get repeat notifications (sound and vibrate) until I clear the message from the notification bar. So if I get an email right after I fall asleep, it keeps vibrating and playing my ringtone every few minutes until I wake up and clear it. It doesn't wake me up or bother me too bad...its just annoying, but my husband on the other hand is about to throw it out of the window....
...and since I FINALLY got a working EVO (hardware ver. 3), I would hate to see this. Anyone know how to fix it?
I'm looking for an app that will repeat sms notifications until the sms is read. First a bit of history Now I've tried Handcent (it doesn't sem to play very well with smart keyboard pro and is far bigger than I need ie just the repeating alert) Chomp is again too big and seems to send multiple texts (at least for me) The closest app I've found is sms pop up but I don't really need the pop up or to replace the initial notification from the phone (just the repeated reminders bit and I can't find a way of having one without the other) Basically all I'm after is an app to use with the default messaging app that will repeat the notification if an sms is not read (not replace the existing ones).

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have done a battery pull, as well as restarted, and rechecked the boxes for repeat sound notifications for my text messages. The repeat sound is set at every 2 minutes. I do receive the original sound notification, but, I never get the subsequent notices. Verizon is at a loss...gee imagine that...But, at the same time, the Haptic (vibrating touch) randomly unchecks it's box and I lose that function about every 2-3 days also.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been lurking since I got my VZW Droid, and decided to join up so I could get an answer. From day 1 my Droid has been re-recieving the same 5 emails! I get other new email fine, but these 5 just keep coming back! When I get them I select them all and click "Mark Read" and they all change from white to grey, but then maybe an hour later I get the notification and they are all white again! I suppose I could just delete them from my email completely. (This is with a Hotmail account by the way).

My issue is that I am receiving alerts for the same new mail repeatedly. Here's the gist:
11:50 - New mail hits my inbox.
12:00 - I receive a notification of the new email.
12:05 - I check my inbox, but choose not to open the email at this time.
14:00 - I get a notification of a 'new' email, yet on checking it's the one received at 11:50, but still haven't opened.
15:00 - Rinse and repeat. Now, I'm not sure how many times this is happening, or even if it's everytime, but there's something definitely glitchy with mail notifications.Has anybody else noticed similar behaviour? If not I may try removing/adding my accounts back in again.
Droid X arriving today.I just gave my Incredible to my daughter.I had Google Voice set up on the inc but disabled it because of repeated messages.Is there a way to set up the phone where you do not get your texts, voicemails, and emails in 3 or more different apps. I may have caused this problem myself but do not want to repeat.

I would have my Yahoo set up as well, but for some reason it says my account info is wrong. Anyway, I get 1 notification for each of the email systems in the phone. 1 seems to be through HTC or a widget or something, 1 is the gmail app or whatever it's called. I've only had this phone for 3 days, and I love it. If it's any help, I'd like to only use the htc one as the keyboard seems more responsive as far as the auto-correction goes, and the layout is more simple and easier for me to read.

How do I stop the HTC app from popping up with text message notifications? Right now I get both the HTC and the Handcent notification at the same time when a text comes through.
