I just set up my Samsung Moment the other day and I made the mistake of adding an MSN email account to my email notifications. That email acc is the one i use to sign up for things, mostly junk. I get tons of emails in it every day. Is there a way to uninstall the MSN account?

Im newbie android user and so far loving it. I had a blackberry previous to my new fascinate and was happy with it but am way happier with my fascinate. Although, I'm having a problem (maybe it's normal for the droids and this phone) with my email notifications and FB notifications. I have my aol (primary) and yahoo emails on my home page but don't get notified when I have a new email. I have to physically open up the email icon. Is that normal for this phone? or is there a way to have a notification on that top bar (where txt msg notif. are) when I do get and email? Facebook know it's not a necessary thing but I was used to with my BB that I'd get a notification star on my FB icon when I had a new message/notification. Is there a way to have that on my FB here. The only way I know I have any FB notifications is when I physically open my FB icon and see a star on the notification bar at the bottom of my screen. I don't even know if fascinate and FB offer this kind of notification but if it does I'd like so enable it. I'm also having a problem syncing my fb contacts with my phone contacts. I don't know if its because my FB acct is under a different email than the gmail acct you need for the fascinate.

Iphones and blackberrys all give you a notification when you receive a new email or a new facebook message. The galaxy s does nothing when you receive a new mail. In settings you can select a ringtone, set it to vibrate when you receive a message. But nothing happens. The only way to find out if there any new messages is by clicking on the email app ( in which i am using hotmail).

I only have one account set up which is yahoo on both phones, and nothing! So unless I check maually to see if i got anything i won't know until i open my email account. is there an app which this can work better?
View 4 Replies View RelatedNo way can I rely on notifications for my SMS messages or emails. The only thing that regularly shows up on the notification bar is missed calls.My Moment is about 6 weeks old and was pre-loaded with cl14.
Notifications work okay for a little bit if I toggle notifications off/on.. then after a day or so, nothing.
Anyone else find the notification area to be completely unreliable?
Traded my Hero for the Moment solely for the keyboard. A few things I learned quickly about the Moment that I wasn't aware of:
1) No LED for visual notifications. I miss that.
2) Not compatible with the Mac. You plug in the USB and it charges the phone...no mounting. Confirmed this with Sprint.
3) While the phone is very quick, there is a definite lag with typing on the hardware keyboard. I'm not a fast typist but it lagged by a letter almost always. If you look at the keyboard rather than what you are typing you are OK. I could adapt to this.
4) I thought the jiggle in the Pre was a bad until I met the Moment. The keyboard mechanism just seems too loose.
5) The joystick thing works great. I adapted immediately to it and really like it.
6) Screen is awesome.
I'd keep the phone if it weren't for the Mac incompatibility. That's a killer for me. Looks like I'm going back to the Hero and will deal with the soft keyboard. I thought about the Touch Pro2 but just can't go back To Windows Mobile.
I get pdf attachments daily ... I clicked "open" and got the message that the Moment was "fetching" it, but it never appeared. (I did not try "download," only open, as i just want to read the thing quickly.) Any tips?This is the "mail" not the "gmail" app, I mean.

My issue is that I am receiving alerts for the same new mail repeatedly. Here's the gist:
11:50 - New mail hits my inbox.
12:00 - I receive a notification of the new email.
12:05 - I check my inbox, but choose not to open the email at this time.
14:00 - I get a notification of a 'new' email, yet on checking it's the one received at 11:50, but still haven't opened.
15:00 - Rinse and repeat. Now, I'm not sure how many times this is happening, or even if it's everytime, but there's something definitely glitchy with mail notifications.Has anybody else noticed similar behaviour? If not I may try removing/adding my accounts back in again.
I'm not getting any notifications at all when emails arrive. I went into the email menu and set it vibrate and to use my own notification (using the ringtone extender app) and nothing. What am I missing? I get custom notifications for messaging but not email
View 9 Replies View RelatedSince updating to 2.1, I've noticed that when I get a text message, the Handcent pop-up appears, and then maybe 5-10 seconds later, I get the notification. This is really annoying mainly because sometimes I've already read the message and replied or closed it, but now I have an annoying notification stuck there. Is anyone else experiencing this? Any suggestions on dealing with it (other than just dealing with it )?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI finally updated to 2.1 yesterday with the SDX kernels, and I've noticed (among other things) that my phone does not vibrate on notifications of e-mail or text messages, even though I'm specifically telling it to do so. It doesn't do it when the phone's on silent, vibrate, or at full volume. In fact, there's a "test" mode in HandcentSMS and ever though vibrate is set to "Always," it doesn't vibrate, even when I tap on "Test notification." Even if I set the main control to vibrate when a call comes in, email and texts still do not cause a vibration. Has anyone seen this? I apologize if this has already been spotted--if it has, if you could point me to the link, that would be great.

View 2 Replies View RelatedEverytime I try to download an app it goes to download and I see the download bar but upon checking notifications find Download Unsuccessful waiting for me. To top it off my apps have updates avail that will not load either.
I never rooted the phone and had no problems up till now Yes I turned off power and removed the battery to reset..
Did some searching about trying to set up custom notifications for email and text and scilence the rest, it seems that people were having good results by using tone picker to scilence all notifications then setting custom ones in each app, however when I try to select silent through tone picker or andriod for default notifications it doesn't take.

The stock messaging app won't stop notifications even if they're turned off...even if the app is deleted? If mms.apk is installed, it keeps notifying me even though it's notifications is turned off. If I remove mms.apk it keeps notifying me that I have 0 new messages. I've tried rebooting, reinstalling and removing. I'm running a sdx kitchen rom with meatkernel 2.0.9/no jit and I have ChompSMS installed. I don't understand how the app can keep notifying me if it's uninstalled? Other than this, the rom has been rock solid with good bat life, so I don't want to flash to stock and start all over for the 5th time this week.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is driving me nuts because I had the hero and swapped it out to the Moment and it did the same thing. I am using the Gmail app and whenever I get new mail I have to go into the ALL MAIL label to see it even though the mail has a Inbox tag on it. By doing this I don't get any notifications of new mail and must check it manually. I've tried clearing out Gmail app and Gmail storage but it will only sync once and stop again. So anyone having the same problem? Gmail not pushing mail into the in-box? I posted on Google help forums but so far people only told me to clear data of the applications.

I loved the feature in Sprint's V-mail, that allowed me to connect directly to another Sprint users V-mail. It was a great time saver, allowed me to just leave the message & get on w/ my day (ok I admit it, it was mainly used to avoid talking to my mother when I knew she was in a bad mood)Since I got the Moment, even when I call my v-mail directly, said option is no longer there. Borrowed my g'friends phone for a minute, and the options is still there for her. I checked Sprint's forums, and couldn't find anything about them changing the v-mail with the Moment.

I was able to establish a link with my Yahoo mail account, but is reliabilty and performance is poor at best (I had much better performance accessing Yahoo mail on my old Samsung Instinct). Most the time when I try to check my Inbox, I get a "Username or password incorrect" notice. (Believe me, they are not incorrect). If I press "Menu" and then the "Refresh" button, I then get a "Connection error" notice! If anyone has any fix or any info for resolving this issue, then please post it here. I can access my Yahoo e-mail okay through the browser, but this is really not the way I prefer to do this.
I'm wondering if there is a way for me to access Domino Web (work email through the internet) from my Samsung Moment. I have no problem accessing my work email from any regular computer, but when I try to access it with my phone a message comes back saying the server is not available (ie. it won't let me in from my mobile phone). I don't know if this is a firewall security thing with Lotus Notes/Server administration or if my phone's browser can't handle it. Is there a certain android browser I should be using or is there an app that I can download that will allow me to access my webmail? When a mobile device tries to access a site, does the site know it's a mobile device? Is there any way around this?The way I access work email through the internet is by going to a specific web site and logging into the site. From there I can see my email. I can't do this with my phone.

for those of you running moxier mail on exchange with a polling mode, have you ever noticed it doesn't successfully always update? I am seeing that at times i will set it to a 1 hour polling mode for example but it won't bring down new emails. If i notice on the moxier settings page the last synch'd time is further back than the polling interval i'll hit 'synch now' and it ALWAYS brings down any new messages.
I contacted moxier and they seem to think its an issue with my server. I should also say my IT department doesn't support moxier/android explicitly but there is no reason it shouldn't work as designed they say. I have dug into the moxier logs and it seems that everytime i see a failure the following similar entries appear to be in the logs:.............
Can someone help out a android nob here? Is there a way to set up a separate (hopefully repeating) audible notification for voicemail? Though to me this would seem like a no brainer item, I can't seem to find it.
Also, while I'm at it. Is there a way to set up signatures in the default mail app?
