HTC Droid Eris :: Message Defaults ?
Dec 21, 2009I just switched over to handcent as my messaging app. I changed the defaults and switched off the notifications function on original app. Here's my question... just switching off the notifications from old app, messages still come thru to old app...does that take up some form of memory? If so, how do I turn off un-wanted app so messages do not go to it anymore? Any hints, info or thoughts on this matter is greatly appreciated.

Aug 18, 2010I'm not sure when this started happening, but it hasn't always been like this. when I press the search button and use the voice option, or if I use my voice search widget and say anything without specifying a location (e.g. "Pizza") , the results are displayed for New York City. I live in Pittsburgh, PA. If I click the "Enter Location" drop down in the google search results and force it to "Use Current Location", nothing happens. It used to know where I was and bring local results if I didn't say a location. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

May 18, 2010Ever since the 2.1 OTA upgrade,when I open my web browser it defaults to an extremely tiny size.I'd describe it as fit-to-screen where the entire web page will be fit to the size of the phone screen, thus making the words unreadable.I have to use my fingers to expand it before I can read it.But before the upgrade, it would open by default to a size that was at least readable.How can I change the default size of the web page?

Jul 24, 2010I received the latest update a couple of days ago. I am like many on the forum that was having issues and growing very tired of this phone.
Issues I was having:
1- Blank display during a call. I have been having the issue of the phone display going blank during a call. The way it's designed to work is that when you place the phone next to your ear the display turns off to 1- save battery and 2- reduce heat. Mine was staying off which made it impossible to traverse a voice response system.
2- Lag during dialing.
3- Time without a signal. ** Retracted - This issue still exists. After rebooting multiple times the issue is back.
Fix - Reset to factory defaults. So far so good. Best the phone has been since updating from 1.5.
Never rooted- Stock versions

Motorola Droid :: Clear Defaults For Messaging App?
Mar 23, 2010I have a stumper, or not. Also, not really sure where to post this, so I'm throwing it in here. I recently started using google voice (today), and I want to use the app smspopup so I can view my sms messages without opening up the google voice app. Even though smspopup is supposed to work with google voice, it is not. I checked out the smspopup FAQ's, and it said to clear the defaults for the android messaging apps in the manage applications menu. I searched for it but it wasn't there, so I can't clear any defaults.

Apr 4, 2010ever since 2.1 I have noticed all outgoing calls turn on speakerphone by default - and in coming also trigger speakerphone. PITA to place calls, or get them, and always have to turn off speakerphone button. Anyone know why or how to stop it? I cannot say for sure it is 2.1 issue but that is newest change I recall.

Is there a way to get rid of the HTC slide down lock screen and use the default android lock screen that you slide to the side. Feb 26, 2010I just got the eris a couple weeks ago, and then the trackball died so verizon sent me a new one. Now on the new phone when I try to change my homescreen wallpaper, it always wants to zoom in on the image. I'm not sure how to explain it, but it will let me use the full width, but not the full length while looking at the phone with the buttons on the bottom. So I have an image that is 320x480, and it wants to crop it down to 200x200 for example. It zooms in and makes it a square, instead of a rectangle like the screen is. I just want the wallpaper to be what it looks like when the image first opens from the photo album app. But as soon as I try to make it a wallpaper it wants to zoom in and make the photo look dumb.

Jul 16, 2010So i just got off the phone with a customer service rep from Verizon and was telling them about my issues because i'm on my 3rd replacement phone, and the 3rd one that just got sent out today is even worser then the ones i had to have replace, i told the rep that i wanted a new model phone, and all they could tell me was that well we'll have to just replace it with the same model, and if you're wanting to get a new model phone you would have to pay for it.How are some of you members getting the Moto Droid without any charges?? Do you guys just get nice reps? Because the rep i got was just a D*ck he wouldn't listen to what i was trying to say and kept cutting me off.

Feb 1, 2010I recently did a hard reset of my phone and it really cleaned things up and made things run faster (and I got rid of a bunch of apps I never really used.) I did notice that the calendar functions differently now. I used to be able to call up an individual day and see scheduled appointments, then I could swipe left or right on that day to go to the next day or previous day. You still can scroll through time that way in the full month display by swiping up and down but that functionality seems to be gone now for day views. Anyone else notice that change?

Well I found a new pic I want to make my wallpaper so I go to albums find the picture hit set as home wallpaper and change it, but when it says it was set as my wallpaper I go to look and its still the default one i set awhile ago.
