my phone is a little slow so i was going to format it. i know my contacts and calender will auto download once i login to gmail. but will my apps download or do i need to write them down and redownload? i was told they are on a cloud and will auto downloan within the hour. who knows. this is why i ask

My apps are all backed up to my sdcard. I don't need to *download* all of them after each wipe. It takes forever. How do I block this? It just starts automatically now (2.2 thing?).

With my Droid I could hear everything loud and clear but with the X I can barely hear whatever I'm playing at all. Are there any apps that can raise the volume above the factory defaults?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI received the latest update a couple of days ago. I am like many on the forum that was having issues and growing very tired of this phone.
Issues I was having:
1- Blank display during a call. I have been having the issue of the phone display going blank during a call. The way it's designed to work is that when you place the phone next to your ear the display turns off to 1- save battery and 2- reduce heat. Mine was staying off which made it impossible to traverse a voice response system.
2- Lag during dialing.
3- Time without a signal. ** Retracted - This issue still exists. After rebooting multiple times the issue is back.
Fix - Reset to factory defaults. So far so good. Best the phone has been since updating from 1.5.

View 11 Replies View Relatedever since 2.1 I have noticed all outgoing calls turn on speakerphone by default - and in coming also trigger speakerphone. PITA to place calls, or get them, and always have to turn off speakerphone button. Anyone know why or how to stop it? I cannot say for sure it is 2.1 issue but that is newest change I recall.
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo one of the cool things about Froyo is being able to check off Enable Automatic Update for market apps. So i have that checked off for like 80+% of my 80+ apps (that took a while to do let me tell you). Now i have had three apps have updates available since i checked off the box, yet they never actually automatically updated. I waited, hours, still never updated. Is there a setting i need to modify? Do i need to tell it what time of day to do it? Anyone else noticing this? I only really want it in apps that i don't care about reading the new features. But it is annoying that i have it enabled and it does nothing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just did a factory reset because I have tried out bunches of programs and just wanted to start fresh, I did it all the time on all my old phones(palm and winmo) with no problem. It turns out that when you do a reset, not only do you loose all your programs but the phone has to be registered to your account. I got it back up in running, wifi works and so does making phone calls, all my contacts and e-mails are synced and I thought everything was good. I went to the market and it even shows me all the apps I had installed previously, however when I tell it to install something, it just stays stuck on the "starting download.." message...........
View 9 Replies View RelatedI of course have froyo in my X. However since froyo updated I have been hoping that my apps would update, they are not. I have checkmarked the allow auto update box, even updated some of them manually once afterwords. I have taken the market off my task killer list. I only check it about twice a day, and everytime I have an update (not a manual update but a yellow font update)..nothing happens, I can let it sit on the market downloads screen or sleep my phone or do whatever and it just does not update my apps..does anyone have any ideas as too why this is? Perhaps something is off or being killed by my task killer? I have the two arrows on in the power management android widget (found this out by my gmail not snycing and receiving automatically). Any help is appreciated as I am at a loss as too why this isn't working..my friends droid updates her apps about twice a day.

It will not actually download the update and just stays like that forever and inturn will suck the battery. If i stop the update and just manually update the app it will download and install just fine. It is kinda weird that it will not download automatically. It even tells me it found updates. I have bb froyo.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOk, there is literally no way that I'm the only one who has asked this question but I can't find the answer by searching. Here's my problem, after I flash my rom and restart my phone the market begins auto-downloading all the apps I previously had installed. I do not want this bc I use titanium backup for all of that.
I know I can avoid it temporarily if I skip entering my email address, but there has to be a setting for me to un check that will make it not try to auto download anything once I do add my account.
I'm sure you guys have all run into this by now, so can someone please tell me what setting will resolve this issue?
I have a stumper, or not. Also, not really sure where to post this, so I'm throwing it in here. I recently started using google voice (today), and I want to use the app smspopup so I can view my sms messages without opening up the google voice app. Even though smspopup is supposed to work with google voice, it is not. I checked out the smspopup FAQ's, and it said to clear the defaults for the android messaging apps in the manage applications menu. I searched for it but it wasn't there, so I can't clear any defaults.
View 2 Replies View RelatedYesterday, I noticed that the Social Networking app was not updating. I couldn't find any setting to sync it manually, so I figured maybe a factory reset would do the trick. So....after I did the reset, I noticed that none of my apps were downloading. They all said "downloading" but nothing was happening. So I ended up just restoring from a nandroid backup I did before the reset. Im glad to say that the Social Networking is updating now, but apps are still not downloading . I went to settings/applications/market and cleared the data and rebooted. Still nothing.

Once the money was there, the status went to purchased, but when I try to download either I get "download failed." The apps are Droid X/2 Overclock and Droid X Recovery Bootstrap. I've tried clearing the market cache, applying the market fix in build.prop. No dice. The phone is rooted, overclocked, and has a slightly modified build.prop (this postdates the download issue).

View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter doing a phone reset back to stock, (Galaxy Nexus 4.0.4) I copied back all my previous saved items from the "Downloads" folder (I had copied the Downloads folder to my PC) and copied them back to the phone.
Now when I open the "Downloads" app it doesn't show anything there. I had documents, pdfs, jpeg, etc.
NEW downloads from market, etc do appear, but nothing else. How do I get the system to refresh the contents of that folder? I've tried Settings, Media, Clear, but that doesn't do anything.
It's almost as if the phone recognizes timestamps of the day of the refresh, but anything earlier is not recognized.
Long time lurker, first time poster here. As a brand new andoid fan, I've learned a lot from everyone here and now I would love to get help for my problem. I have downloaded lots of apps, but now there seems to be a problem. When I click to download, nothing happens, and then an orange triangle appears with the words "download was unsuccessful, please try again." I have tried all of the suggestions out there, removing and replacing the battery and SIM card, turning Wifi off and back on, logging out of Google Talk (although I seem to be automatically logged back in w/out doing anything), using 2G, 3G and Wifi.

How i clear the defaults for apps that don't show up in settings>applications>manage applications? i have the regular and 3d galleries installled, and when i opened the stock gallery, it asked me to choose between gallery gallery and gallery camera when veiwing. i selected gallery gallery and set to default but now when i open a folder, it always opens the 3d gallery folder. i'd like to change this.

My pic sending capabilities have stopped before when I got the froyo update and the only thing that fixed it was a factory reset.
